Alex is the best bartender. Always attentive and friendly. Drinks are great. Their wings are crispy, big and perfectly cooked! Must try! The space is small but has a patio that opens when the weather isn't too hot. The place fills up quickly sometimes so it can be hard to find a seat sometimes. Especially at the bar. read more

Pretty decent dive bar in uptown. Drinks were cheap and strong, which I am not mad about. They also have table service which is nice since it was pretty crowded on a Tuesday night. My friend and I came to The Bar to play some TouchTunes -- unfortunately since it was so crowded it was hard to hear the music. Just as we were leaving we noticed that karaoke was about to start. It's better than the original. Phoenix's first iteration of The Bar, an Arcadia mainstay, was known for its homage to The Big Lebowski with its art and abundant White Russians. And the sequel to it is a bit more grown up, refined, and fun. What's to love: Same great bar food with flavorful wings, scrumptious loaded fries, and sandwiches with locally-sourced bread. But this time, with lower lights, way more space, and sports quietly streaming into the lobby. And best of all--a decent patio! This is exactly the kind of place you'll want to go to watch the game while carrying a conversation with a small group. Where you drag your friends when it's midnight and you want a reliable late-night bite. Or when you want to go out, but not anywhere too ritzy or clubby. A ton of quality hang outs have come and gone through uptown--it's hard for stuff to survive. But I'm really hoping The Bar sticks around a while! read more

I can't understand the high reviews. Your service sucks! We had to flag down our waitress and she ignored us until I got in her face. I asked for our table to be wiped down from the previous guest and she said, "I can do that for you". The F? It should have been done without asking. Felt like we were putting her out. Started by sitting outside. 10 minutes later we went inside hoping to have service. I give it two stars because the food is good. read more

Service is terrible, you'll wait about 30 minutes in between talking to your waitress. Severely understaffed and they don't serve water with ice. You have to get it out of a jug with dirty cups. Wings are good but not worth it at all read more

What a great neighborhood find! Our food was outstanding. We ordered the Chicken Tenders and they were FANTASTIC!!! We also shared a grilled chicken wrap, so delish. The service was awesome. We sat at the bar to watch MNF with great people around us. This was our second time here and we have also been one time to the Arcadia location which did not disappoint. This is my first time here, and I'll definitely be back! The location is great, and I love their happy hour specials. The Bar. is very reasonable, considering how many other places are limited on time when HH specials are valid and still charge a lot. The staff was fantastic! Alexandra and Carolyn were super friendly and made sure everyone was taken care of. They never left an empty glass or had to wait for service. It was clear that they love working there, which made the visit even better. Even though there was a big crowd, the service was spot on. The seating was comfortable, and the decor was great. The only suggestion I have is to install some sound-reducing materials. It was a bit loud while chatting with someone else, but it was also super busy. We also got a dozen wings and split the order to try two different flavors. Their wings were actually really meaty and tasted amazing! Overall, this is a great neighborhood bar, and I'll definitely be back regularly for the services and great prices. read more

The food is good and the service is usually great. Today that was not the case. There were less than 20 people there for lunch. Our server took our orders. Mine was a Chicken Sandwich with Cheese, plain and add mushrooms. After approximately 20 minutes, our sandwiches came and mine was completely wrong. It was anything but plain, so I waited about 10 minutes to get our server's attention. I explained what was wrong with the sandwich and she took it back to the kitchen to get remained. After about 10 minutes, the server came back to verify what I wanted in the sandwich (plain with cheese, add mushrooms). Fast forward 20 minutes, my friends have finished their meals and mine finally shows up. It's wrong again. This time they forgot the cheese. I asked the server ti just bring me a piece of cheese. When it came time to pay, there were two sandwiches in my bill, and a double charge for mushrooms. My $11.99 lunch special came to over $30.00. More than 15 minutes later, when the server came to collect our payments, I pointed out the error and asked to have the bill corrected. She blamed the mistake on the manager and went to get it corrected. 10 minutes later, when she brought the corrected bill, ans we asked to have the manager come speak with us. Well, we waited another 25 minutes and the manager never came. We finally gave up and began to leave the restaurant. Near the door there was a gentleman working and I asked if he was the manager. He said he was and I asked why he never came over to the table. He said he was never told of the situation. I attempted to share the details of our dining experience, and he simply apologized. We left and will have to think twice if we return. I work in customer service, as a General Manager, and we serve an average of 500 customers a day. If anyone on my team ever treated customers like this they'd get the opportunity to seek new employment. We like Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers, but if the experience is this bad with a minimum number customers, what will happen when they're busy?

The only reason I didn't give this updated review a 5-I ordered the banh mi sando and the sandwich was so dry. Chicken was dry. The cilantro wasn't chopped I had to pick out long stems. Also I got the AZ frosè and the rosemary syrup was just way too pungent to enjoy the whole beverage. I wished it had been more balanced. Especially when the French fries are heavily seasoned with rosemary--a bit too much.

For two people we ordered three types of empanadas we probably could have gotten away with two flavors and maybe a lighter tapa or desert but really wanted to try the cheese and guava empanada and didn't want that to be a main option in case we didn't like it. Needless to say we really liked all three: picadillo, arroz con pollo and guava and cheese - the picadillo was the favorite however both for the inside flavor and the accompanying dip. Pricing is not bad I'd say the serving and size of the three empanadas for $14 is a great price.

It was perfectly cooked. Slightly salty but good. My husband ordered the porterhouse steak and everyone at the table got a piece and were in love. That steak was heavenly. My sister in law and friend both ordered the filet mignon and both really enjoyed their steaks. For sides we ordered the potatoes and Brussels and I highly recommend you order those for your sides if you go. The potatoes are ridiculously good. We ended on some desert, although I was too full, my husband got the chocolate cheesecake and my SIL got the sticky cake. Her sticky cake was recommended by our waiter and it was the better dessert choice. Cocktails were good. The ambiance was amazing. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back!

The Bar Uptown is a true gem in uptown Phoenix! This welcoming neighborhood spot has quickly become one of my favorite go-to places. Caylee and her incredible team of Alicia, Alex, Carolyn, Conner, Ella, and Olivia are the heart of the experience. They consistently provide top-notch, personable service with genuine smiles and an eagerness to make your visit memorable. The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect whether you're catching a game, watching a fight, or just grabbing drinks with friends. It was probably my first time being introduced to Irish pubs and the traditional dishes and drinks that they serve. Today, I was walking around near the ASU Downtown Campus and came across Seamus McCaffrey's. I gave it a try for lunch and enjoyed some tasty food and great service. While I didn't grab a drink, I'd certainly consider meeting friends after work there another time. I walked into the bar, and I was literally behind the bar where is was quite dark. Many of the bar seats were taken though I stepped into an area behind the bar where there were a number of open tables where I could seat myself. There was yet another room further back with booths and some creative decor, though I was happy with a table near the bar. The server came right over and made some great suggestions and introduced herself to me. She checked on me multiple times during the meal and made sure I liked what I picked. I ordered an item off the Traditional Favorites menu, the Chicken Pot Pie, which consisted of tender shredded chicken, peas and carrots smothered with herbs in a creamy white gravy under a flaky puff pastry. It also came up with a cheese stick. Both were tasty yet not too filling as I expected. There was a light breaded top to a bowl and then no bread on the bottoms or sides, but that was alright as I didn't need an over-the-top dish for lunch. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected them to be, it was certainly worth it, and I'll be back again. Seamus McCaffrey's opened in 1991 and brought a real Irish pub to Central Phoenix. It is a family-run bar that serves Irish classics and pub favorites. From Boxty, shepherd's pie, and fish and chips along with stacked sandwiches, burgers, and starters, the menu is not huge but still feels like it has a bit of everything. They have live music on the weekend and host special events throughout the year. The biggest celebration is its annual St. Patrick's Day street party on Monroe, a Downtown Phoenix tradition filled with great beer, great food, and a whole lot of green.
