Today we had a really bad experience at this place. Really bad customer service. The employee was really rude and when I told him that's not the way to treat his costumers he said that's the way he was. Also told me I was banned from the place. I told him I was putting a review on yelp he came out to apologize and tried to make me happy. I told him I was not changing my mind and then the owner came out to tell me she was sad and that I was not supporting her because I was giving them a bad review. I told them I was not going to keep arguing with them in front of my kids I asked them to please give them my drink so we could leave. Just had the most delicious drink here! It's the biscoff latte! Its a beautiful balance of expresso, sweet creamy goodness topped with a biscoff cookie. All the years ive patronized this place, ive never had a bad experience here, whether that be with the owners or the drinks themselves. If I didn't like a drink, they made another one for me. They recieved spotless A ratings from the health department along with several praises from fellow customers. So, when I say that there's no way this guy saw the owner smoking in the back, i mean it! To begin my gf has been coming to this spot for years now with no issue. I ordered a pina colada frappe and my gf ordered a brown sugar milk tea. Before that she had originally ordered the dirty horchata but he explained that it had a shot of espresso. Because of this my gf told him she wanted the brown sugar one instead, he responded with I'm just letting you know what you're getting into in a rude way. After paying he grabbed our receipt and roughly placed it on the counter. While waiting for our drinks we overheard them talking loudly about my gf saying how they were live streaming and how they were gonna show how "mean" my gf was being to millions of people. He told his co-worker how he's been working there all day and he was just trying to help despite my gf being "mean". We didn't confront them or start a scene and I'm not sure what she said or did wrong but it was overall a horrible experience. We still tipped them even after he was rude, they need better customer service as we will not be returning. read more

I'm surprised that this place doesn't have more reviews. Every time that I come here, it's pop popping with people, especially, the last couple of times. I know that because of COVID they kindly ask customers to wait outside ... and there's always people waiting for their drinks, so, a little surprised that the number of reviews aren't higher because it's clearly popular. Friendly service and not a bad wait. The last time I was here, the employee said it would be about 15 minutes and I got it sooner than 15 minutes. This is probably my favorite place when I have a craving for boba and I'm in the area. It's quite a ways from where I live, but whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I always stop in. I usually get the milk tea boba (50% sugar)... I love, love, love that you can adjust the sugar level to your liking. Their boba is SO fresh and the milk tea is just perfectly balanced and delicious. I also really like their Taro Milk Tea w/ almond milk. I had never tried taro before and had always been curious what it tasted like. Visited on a Sunday night before going to the Reign of Terror. We wanted boba before going in so we ended up here. It's a nice and small place. Looking at the menu there was a lot and were very curious because some of the drinks are pretty niche to their own native origin and were surprised to see them. For eexample one of the drinks was the Pink milk from Thailand and they had their own Halo Halo. I wanted extra extra caffeine so i got their new redrbull infusion with matcha foam. Their boba geeat texture, soft (enough where it isnt mush in your mouth but not hard where ur biting on gummy bears) and chewy just how it should be. It was an interesting combination and i enjoyed it. By all means I am no professional but i have worked in the boba industry for a decade and have been going to boba shops for more than that. So i hope this review holds some weight. Also had a wonderful conversation with the owner and his wife. They were very nice and detail oriented with their recipes. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Best boba in Thousand Oaks I got the House matcha frappe drink with popping boba (which I love and not all boba places serve). The drink was good on the hot day I ordered it, but there wasn't a strong enough matcha taste for my liking. The price of the boba was typical; if you ordered a frappe, that does cost more than normal boba drinks. I would say that the size of the drink was a bit disappointing. For the price I paid for, it tended to be on the smaller end of the scale. The employees were very friendly. All wore masks. The drinks were made in a timely manner. The location of the boba place is a bit more hidden than I anticipated, location-wise. Overall, if you reside in Thousand Oaks, this is probably the best boba you'll get in the area. read more

I wish our experience could've been better but unfortunately it was not. For context, my mom had a friend who had given her a gift card to Matcha sometime Summer of last year for $20. Something happened with the processing of the gift card to which he was charged $20 but there was a processing error, to which there was a charge but no money was put onto the gift card. One day we wanted to get boba and went to Matcha and the girl at the time who swiped our gift card, realized that there was no balance on the gift card, but we had a slip of paper saying that there was $20 spent on the gift card (as it should with activated gift cards) as a proof of purchase. The girl honored the total since she had remember our friend who purchased the gift card. Fast forward to today, about $8 is left on the card and my mom and had lunch and were in the mood for some boba. We get to the counter and noticed it's two new people working. The man takes our order and we show him the gift card WITH the proof of purchase, WITH a note the girl left explaining the whole ordeal. He swipes the card after tendering and say that there was an error. We show him the note on the card from the girl explaining the situation with this gift card. He then proceeds to tell us that since that summer, all the people working then at Matcha are gone and that he and the lady who was working with him are the new owners and that this gift card amount doesn't apply now. Seriously? We have literal proof that this gift card had a balance and an error in processing. He then says to my mom, who's an honest woman, that anyone could've signed this note explaining what happened last year. Him and the lady almost started berating my mother saying there's a lot of people here and they have to make orders. If they had been nice, we could've come to a compromise and left with boba in hand but no. We left upset and telling them we would never come back. And to be honest, there's better boba places in town anyways. So I'm urging you all not to go here. Edit: After reading what the owner has written in response to this, I'm still upset. My mom didn't use any abrasive words to them. She would never say that to anyone, let alone people we don't know. I'm sad that this business is run by different people now. As someone who is obsessed with boba, it's pretty frustrating to have to drive to 30+ minutes just to get somewhere with decent boba, so you can imagine my excitement when I say that Matcha was opening up in Janss. I ordered the Chai Milk Tea and my brother got the Milk Tea. Mine was definitely sweeter than my preference. The texture of the boba was a bit off. It was way too chewy.
