EXCELLENT in every way. They installed a new Bosch system Nov. 2020 ; and from the first contact till completion, they demonstrated integrity, respect for my family- home- and property. My previous A/C unit was working - but ready to go ( all companies were very busy 2nd to all the 'storms' we have had ); but kept to the install date they gave us - and took the time to answer any questions we had. When they left, the inside and outside looked as if they were never here. I am writing this review because of what happened ~ 4 weeks ago. Because of MY mistake- the unit stopped working - close to noon time. We called and they were here in ' less than an hour' ; had the unit working before the house even got warm! Everyone understands that having someone responding that fast is rare and unusual- but it happened. I highly recommend this company - everyone of them cares and has values not seen much any more. read more

On Friday 4/10/26 Mathews Heating & Air came to house we are renting at 9am to replace the old HVAC unit that was leaking and needed to go. They were there until after 6pm working on the project. A little before 5pm they said they were finished and wanted to show us the new thermostat they had installed, at which time they realized they couldn't get the heater to work. This resulted in extra time taking the job to 6pm. They then forgot to show us the thermostat so we didn't realize they had taken the old one with them without giving us the option to keep it. The one they installed was super basic with no options for scheduling temperatures, etc like our previous one (not really old) had. Then came the fun and games. The newly installed unit made so much noise that it would wake us up at night and we needed to turn up the volume on our TV whenever the AC was turning on to cool down the room. We let our rental agent know the situation and were advised to call the company back out, which we did. We also took multiple videos of the unit making the noises and sent those to our agent and Mathews, also playing for the employee who came back out to check out the unit. He also heard the sounds at the end of his visit as he was getting ready to hear when it turned on to cool the room. He immediately went into action and started working on the into again and also added refrigerant, telling us that's what he was doing. This did not fix the problem. This went on for months with multiple visits from Mathews and finally a second complaint was called in to give a second opinion. The result is a fixed and normal sounding AC that is such a relief! This fix happened 2 days ago, Tuesday, 7/28/26, so 3+months later. Mathews told our rental agent that they couldn't rely on videos and that they never heard the sounds. Two different visits at least the employees that were sent here heard the sounds and attempted to fix it. Be careful about doing business with this company, as any follow up may be a problem. Because we were renters, we were not listened to. Frustrating since we were the ones it was affecting on the day to day, but in the end it was the actual owners who had to pay and we feel terrible for them. Mathews eventually refused to do further work because of the second opinion that was called in after they had sent multiple people to "fix" the problem. The value of the work done was costly in the end, not economical! Zero stars if possible but I did add one star because they were usually on time for appointments. read more

Left multiple messages with ? secretary/ office person ? trying to arrange installing Central A/C. Also left voicemail/ auto messages several times. I was never able to get a call back from Mr. Matthews (Phil) after initial introductory call. Just getting the initial call ball back in the first place was a struggle. I do not know what the problem was/ is. I have money put aside for this project I have saved for years, but can not jet this job arranged. I guess it is better to find out now, since ever getting any service in the future (if needed) might leave me stuck without a solution. read more

We could not be more grateful for Phil Mathews from Mathews Heating & Air! Our A/C went out in the middle of the day.. and within 1-2 hours, our house got up to 81 degrees! I have a newborn and a 2-year old, so I was stressing out trying to find a way to cool them down (lots of crying). I called my realty company to see if they could get someone out asap (knowing it would probably take hours or even days). They called Phil Mathews, and within 30 minutes he was at our house. He said he heard about my babies and hurried over just for them. He was so incredibly nice, professional, and efficient. Wow. If you feel like you're stuck with a Heating & Air company, that you've done business with exclusively for years, turn your attention to Matthews! This was a referral from Nextdoor who my neighborhood is a part of as a hub for connections. My a/c broke yesterday, I called this morning before their hours of operation (about 7:30 a.m.) and someone answered, took my call, said they'd make contacts and within a few hours, I had a guy on the way. By 11 a.m., my a/c was up and running. Matter of fact, while I was in my cottage, all of a sudden it kicked in and started throwing cold air. I heard a knock on the door and it was Matthews. I told him that it was down and all of a sudden it started working again and he said, "I know, I was out there taking care of it. You have a stopped up flow pipe." WOW! He was on the job before he even knocked on the door! This guy was out of there w/in 30 minutes, if that. Not only did he fix the problem but he also did my yearly maintenance. $80! My former HVAC company would have charged me twice that and I would have had to tolerate their horrible bedside manner not only in the service people but the girls in the office. What a breath of fresh air Matthews is. I can't believe that I didn't call them sooner, as in YEARS ago. With SO many companies out there to choose from, you want someone to be reasonable, friendly and be there as soon as you need them. That's Matthews! I am very impressed with the service we received today, not only in kindness and respect, but also letting me know exactly what he was doing. I'm not sure of his name, either I forgot it (I'm a little scatterbrained today), or he didn't say. Either way he was very friendly, someone you should be proud to have as a representative of your company, in the past the ac guys (from other companies) acted as if it was an inconvenience for them to be here, then wanted to raise hell if the ac filter was a few days over, something we try to do every 30 days, (sometimes sooner because of dust), especially with weather like we're having now. But those in the past shouldn't have been so rude, nothing pisses me off more as a grown man than to be lectured like I'm a child. So again please tell him thanks again for being so courteous, and driving all the way out to Jay. Oh, and that I'm sorry there weren't any boiled peanuts around. Lol. read more

My home was previously a rental property that needed a replacement heat pump around May of 2016, On initial contact this seemed like a professional company. Once they made the sale they became unreliable and without any sense of responsibility to the client. It had been used in the summer of 2016 but not since October of 2016. As I have returned to live in and renovate the property, I paid $75.00 to have the system recertified as fully operational the Wednesday before Christmas. The next day the system failed and on Friday they returned to identify a bad blower motor. It is now January 5, 2018 and still not fixed. I have gone through the coldest 2 weeks of the year without heat. And they are insisting I pay full labor for the replacement. If I can find somewhere else to support the warranty I will. I have suffered enough. read more
