I was referred to Matrix by the guy we bought our 2013 MINI from, he said they were honest, fair, and won't give you the run around on stuff you really don't need to have done on your car. The owner (Jeremy, I think) and I chatted through Yelp and he was super helpful & friendly. I would say the referral was spot on! They booked about a week or two out, but I can see why they do. We had to have the battery replaced - normally I could manage this but it required specific electronic updating etc. They replaced the battery, registered the IBS, and did an hour worth of inspection overall on the car for around $400. I thought it was pretty reasonably priced considering the AGM battery itself tends to run around $200. They found a couple minor things wrong but they weren't really worth fixing at this exact moment, and told me the price if I wanted to. No pressure or gimmicks. Everybody I spoke to was super friendly here and we'll definitely be going back for all of our repairs. read more

Absolutely stellar, honest, and intelligent service. I worked with Jesse and it was a pleasure. After not driving my RS5 because of a lousy interaction with the deceitful Audi Beaverton dealership and wasted money this was excellent. Jesse was concise and accurate. He provided a sequential debug of a failing rear camera and parking sensor that the sensor buzzer circuit can fail and take out the camera, so to fix that first to see if the camera is ok. It was exactly as he predicted. I work at Intel, and this hierarchical testing is something I was impressed by. Audi beaverton took over 100$ to tell me, "yeah camera not working, 2-300 more to determine root cause." Matrix fixed this in 300$ total. Additionally they fixed a coolant leak which Audi Beaverton wanted more than 400$ for at a much better price. I cannot recommend them enough. If you bought an Audi like I did, once the free services are done at the dealer take it to matrix. Hell, if your car is within a few months of warranty expiration, i would still take it to matrix, have them look at it so you can actually get the audi dealerships to fix them under warranty. Otherwise beware of 5000$ estimates that show up 500 miles after your previous service and as soon as the car is out of warranty. I honestly should not complain about a bunch of crooks and instead focus on the good.... but the context is necessary. I will take my car to Matrix for any issue and recommend them without reservation. They are knowledgeable, honest, customer focused and competent at execution. read more

Matrix was referred by a good friend if mine, so disappointed by my experience. I will keep to facts here. I had brakes and rotors replaced last summer. First go around, rotors were making noises so brought back. Technician confirmed rotors were defect and replaced free of charge. A few months later, noticed shaking of car when braking. I brought to BMW service center. Technician said rotors were warped and needed to be replaced, and surprised when I mentioned they were just replaced. I called Matrix to complain about the newly installed rotors. They argued I should have brought to them to fix instead of going to BMW, but this would have been my 3rd trip to Matrix to fix brakes. Logan spoke to manager and offered a service credit for future service. Great, water under the bridge. I called Matrix today for service appointment because my A/C not working. Jesse was kind enough to call me back. That said, Matrix has no appointments available to accommodate me. I take it they no longer want me as a customer or don't want to honor the service credit. read more

Brought my 2008 bmw 335i into Matrix Integrated after moving to the area recently - it had been barely used for the last 4 years as I was traveling a lot for work. I spoke with Logan on the phone and explained the situation. The indicators on the dashboard had gone haywire (claiming it was -40 degrees and that all my tires were flat), and I wanted to make sure that the car was in decent shape and ready to make it through the winter. Logan & team ended up finding 2 rat nests inside the engine compartment, and noticed that the wheels were cracking due to sitting for so long. I ended up getting new tires and needing some re-wiring (the rats had chewed through several), which Matrix Integrated was able to take care of in barely over 1 day. Considering they had to order the tires, I was seriously impressed! Logan and several other mechanics used to work at BMW of Portland, so they have extensive formal training/experience. They are straightforward, honest, and extremely competent. And their hourly labor rate is much more reasonable than going straight to the dealer! Cannot recommend more. read more

Had a flat tire and needed to change it and this shop was down the street. I rolled my car next to the shop and asked if they had a breaker bar, one of the techs in the shop, I think it might have been Jesse, but he was super super helpful and gave me help. He was literally running back and forth from my car in the street back to the shop multiple times to get the correct bolt size and then put the spare on himself. The spare tire was flat and they also helped me fill it up before leaving. If this is the kind of service they offer to someone who is not even technically a customer I can't imagine how they would treat there paying customers! I'd definitely take my car here if it wasn't a Honda but if you have a euro car I'd 100% recommend them! read more

I have an Audi Q5 that needed a rear-wheel bearing replaced. I was positive of the diagnosis based on the sound while driving, and Matrix got me scheduled for repair immediately. The main reason for my 5-star review was the fact they confirmed the diagnosis before repair and didn't charge me the $80 to confirm like every other repair shop wanted to. He is honest, prompt, and ensures things are done right. I bought a car in the Portland area, and Jeremy took receipt of the car to have maintenance and other work done. He updated me regularly. He got back with me in a very swift manner if questions or concerns came up. He went out of his way to really help me out with several things including troubleshooting and solving a problem that came up. It had nothing to do with what the shop had done, but he sought out ways to address the issue....he also made sure everything was in order for transport of the car from the shop to where I lived at the time. The level of dedication, passion, and integrity is so rare...but you will find it here. I refer good folks I know to this shop. They take care of one's vehicle as though it were their own....Whether one is bringing in a car for an oil change or diagnostic code reading to doing a complete, serious build, one is treated the same. Unfortunately, that cannot be said of many places....For my future car projects, I foresee my sending them to Jeremy Williams and his folks (and I live on the east coast). I used this shop because of all the positive reviews. I took my Porsche 911 because I had some oil in the coolant but no water in engine. I spent over $5,000 having them diagnose and fix the car. I don't drive this one much because I have 3 911's. After only 500 miles I had the same oil in coolant problem and no water in the engine oil. I have to say when I spend $5,000+ to fix what they diagnosed I would have expected to get more miles out of the car before another failure. Taking my 911 to another shop to diagnose. read more

Always impressed by the expertise and service provided by the Matrix team. Left my vehicle with service rep Logan C & crew to install new wheels/tires and address a few other basic maintenance items. I received a call shortly after asking if I had noticed a strange noise from my engine... uh oh! I recently purchased this vehicle and had a PPI completed by both a local franchise dealer AND an independent BMW specialist in southern WA. While some maintenance items were noticed by both, neither PPI report noted irregular engine noise and neither suspected a failure common to the engine was a current issue. Matrix noticed the second they fired up the car. Logan worked with me to ensure I ordered the right parts from a third party specialist. Needless to say, I am thankful a larger problem was avoided and happy to be back on the road! Even better, Logan took care of shipping back my core exchange parts to this third party at no charge. These guys are awesome! On a road trip from San Francisco the check engine light came on my Audi A4. After calling around to several shops that couldn't fit me in, Nikko told me to stop by and they would take a look. Turns out it was a turbo boost fault; and while they couldn't fit me in to fix the issue on short notice, it gave me peace of mind knowing the car was safe to drive. We "rescued" our Mini from the dealer who sat on it for 2 days, never calling with a diagnosis of why the check engine light was on even though we had an appointment on the 1st day.
