After years of using Yelp, I've finally joined to thank the guys at Green Drop Garage for saving my…read morevacation. We were down from Seattle for the weekend when my car began leaking oil like a sieve, so we hightailed it to the nearest garage that would take us. The folks at Green Drop pointed out my neglected oil filter and changed it and my oil on the spot, then sent us away without even charging us for their time and supplies. Since my old Seattle garage closed it's time to find a new one up here; if I lived in Portland I'd be starting with Green Drop!

I decided to go to Green Drop based on a friends recommendation since she thought they were good to…read moreher when she took her car there for regular maintenance. Turns out they are very inconsistent with quality of care. I authorized approximately $4,550 in repairs based on Green Drop's diagnostic findings. The check engine light was on for a catalytic converter issue and they said the rear hub bearings assembly needed repair "or else my wheel might fall off". Following those repairs, the vehicle developed a significant vibration at highway speeds. I returned the vehicle to Green Drop and their technician confirmed the vibration during a test drive. Green Drop documented that the wheels were balanced and attributed the vibration to the front axles (even though based on my research the symptoms clearly indicated that the vibration was likely related to something in the rear wheels). Because the vibration persisted, I obtained an independent inspection from another repair facility. That facility documented that the front wheels were balanced but both rear wheels were out of balance, measuring 10 grams off on the left rear and 20 grams off on the right rear, and corrected the imbalance. Had Green Drop's Uptown garage actually balanced the rear wheels during initial repair or when I brought it back for inspection they would have saved me from great concern that something was seriously wrong with my vehicle after the repairs they did on it. It's unfortunate that they couldn't take responsibility. I have to wonder if they actually looked at my car when I brought it back with concern for the new issue that arose after they worked on it. Were they just trying to sell me on another high priced repair? I am requesting an explanation of the wheel-balancing work performed by Green Drop, including what procedure was used and whether all four wheels were dynamically balanced initially and checked again for balancing when I brought it back to them with the new vibration concern. So far they are have not responded to my written request for further documentation.

I planned on doing some suspension upgrades as well as some engine modifications and I called Dina sport to see if they would be able to do that kind of work. I asked if I could provide the parts they said that I could, however, they would not be able to warranty the work. I was OK with that. I washed the car by hand the morning II brought it in to be looked at (something I always do so they see I care for my car and hopefully they will as well. the damage that represented below in the pictures did not exist at that time. I had prior quotes from BMW, the other from another independent repair shop both of whom claim that two wheel bearings need to be replaced and both lower control arms on both sides (4) needed to be replaced. The shop called me back having not discovered either one of the wheel bearings and only finding part of the suspension issue. Wanting to charge $1000 and not knowing what parts they were putting in and being told that they were no longer for some reason allowing me to bring in my own parts. I declined that repair from them feeling like they had missed the Mark that was discovered by two other repair shops and Les Schwab tire. I had them go ahead and do the expansion valve and a hose which was causing a coolant and a cooling problem. They told me I needed a new battery which I said, go ahead and do and to pick up the car, was shocked to see the battery charge $600. I expected three or $400 never 600 did a little research while that's very much on the high side and It's not what I've ever paid before. My car was backed in against another building with the nose pointing out so I could not see the driver side of the car where this damage was. I drove straight home and didn't drive until today when I noticed the damage. I feel inveigled with a bait and switch, I feel like they obfuscated damage that was done and I feel like they overcharged for the replacement of the battery and then did not stand by what they originally represented. The damage is clearly done by the lift not being positioned right on the car.

Best experience I have ever had getting my car repaired by a very wide margin. The staff,…read moreincluding the owner Ryan, are as ethical and transparent as they come. My car was done so much faster than in my other experiences that I genuinely had trouble believing it. Car was dropped off unable to move on a Wednesday and by the following Monday it was ready for pickup - totally blown clutch, flywheel, and a few other items that died in the process. The pricing is extremely fair, less than I was expecting honestly, and when I got there I was also walked through some other potential issues and maintenance items to be mindful of. From what I could tell I got a very thorough inspection while it was in there. I will not be bringing my car anywhere else - DynaSport has a customer for life.
