The interior is super…read morebright and welcoming, and most of the staff are ajummas, which honestly gives it that comforting, homey Korean diner vibe. You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

(Pretty sure it's just the owner) who was very friendly, but the other staff had a huge attitude, the girl who dropped off our side dishes dug her hands into the dishes to grab two at a time which was super unsanitary. She threw the last side dish on our table while she was walking away too. I wanted to be optimistic about the food even though the staff gave a terrible first impression. We ordered two soups. They were both super bland. My partner and I kept debating whether or not to ask for more salt because of the lack of seasoning in both of our meals. Even the side dishes were lacking flavor and looked like they were sitting out for a long time. The only good thing I have to say about this place is the kind lady (probably owner) of the restaurant. Everything else was a huge let down. I wanted to like the food here because there's a lot of good Korean restaurants in Irvine, and this could've been one of them but sadly it's not worth coming back.

Turns out it's at the same location at Made coffee, which I come also quite frequently! What a nice discovery for me! Food was really good! We got the seafood pancake, which was crispy and flaky and NOT overly oily at all like most other Korean places! I really liked this dish! Next was my Kalbi Tang, beef short ribs soup, so flavorful with two huge short ribs with bones, where the meat just fall off the bone easily. My friend got the spicy beef noodle soup, which she said was very spicy but very flavorful. Food was great but what really stood out was their service! I love everyone who worked there especially their servers and the nice young girl who was helping us, and young man! They are super nice, super attentive, super polite, and just wonderful people! I also noticed how clean and well-maintained the restrooms were, which I always appreciate. Our waiter even informed us that the food is MSG-free, which made me especially happy. This is definitely our new favorite spot for soft tofu soup!

Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. Everyone still has enough space to be on their own but because you're closer together it kind of feels communal.

I saw they had Galbitang...and was excited to try their version of it. But my buddy was sold on Yukkaejang... Being a fan myself..mostly because I have never found my favorite one, I agreed. We also wanted to order mandoo and bibimbap as a control. The waitress comes over and we order those three items. She tells us that we shouldn't order the bibimbap, we should order the hot stone version. I love Korean restaurants....it's way more important to order what the employee thinks is best....yes let's do it! Our food comes out and everything is delicious! The Yukkaejang is very good....but also very spicy. Definitely at the top of my threshold for spice...but I am wimpy. The stone pot bibimbap was interesting and yummy. It had a miso flavor to it...very good! The hilarious part was the mandoo seemed so bland after eating the other two dishes....just due to the intensity of flavor! The banchan was good as well. Got seated, took a bit for them to bring side dishes n stuff. We ordered 2 dinner sets, one bulgogi and beef soondubu (29.49) , and the other la galbi with beef soondubu (32.49), and also the seafood pancake (16.99). Everything came out in like 20 minutes. The soondubu flavoring was kinda underwhelming (?) like lacked flavor i feel like or it was a bit blander than i remembered. Alot of tofu and decent amount of meat in it. The la galbi was alright, decent flavoring, quite fatty not that tender, bulgogi is good. The seafood pancake was def disappointing, it was lwk like less than an inch thick of batter, it was very doughy and chewy, not that much veggie nor seafood. Very big tho ig and filling ig lol, but i expected very thin crispy pancake. Service was actually pretty good tbh, they refilled our side dishes many times without us asking and refilled our waters, this never happened in the past lol. Overall food was mid, service was decent, sooo busy, ig a classic spot to get korean food but theres def better smaller restaurants out here.

Their lowest spice for this dish is mild, however it is extremely spicy! It comes with a lot of boned-in chicken pieces that are tender and rich in flavor. They also have many options that aid in cutting the spice. My personal go-to is the Tuna Mayo Rice, which comes with radish and seaweed. The combo of the bowl is so good, and it comes in a pretty large portion so it could be a meal within itself. The service at Yupdduck is really good. The servers checked up on my table intermittently for water and radish refills. In the end, they gave out Yakult for a little treat!
