I visited on a Sunday evening and was less than impressed. I had tried this place a couple months ago and had a similar level experience but wanted to give it another try before reviewing. The service levels are non-existent. No one greets you, you order on an iPad, and then they bring it out to you without asking if you need anything else. I ordered the double tuna roll and was not impressed by the fish quality. The tuna was dry - like it was a week old. They give you one soy sauce packet and when you ask for more, the woman behind the counter will say "this time it's free but next time it's $0.25" in an annoyed tone. I will not be going back - there are better food options in that center and better sushi options close by. read more

3 months ago I had said I wasn't sure if I'd be back. 3 months later, I came to UTC with a coworker and we both wanted a quick lunch. He suggested this place and instead of saying no I didn't like it, I decided to give it another try. Because I don't ever say no to sushi, ever. Only this time I knew I wouldn't do the inaris again and just ordered off the specialty roll menu. I was deciding between the Double Salmon (salmon+avocado and salmon+avocado) and the Sakura (salmon, avocado, and crab meat) because, you guessed it, I love salmon and avocado! I ended up going for the latter since it was a couple dollars cheaper and I just wanted something light. And... I liked it! The pieces of salmon were quite a mouthful, which I felt like was worth more than the sum of smaller pieces of salmon. While I normally like good sushi rice, I don't mind that it got replaced by crab meat. And did I mention that I like avocados? The presentation of the Sakura is also insta-ready. Coworker complained about the excessive packaging that this place uses, which is a valid concern in this date and age. Maybe there are more eco-friendly options out there? And I still didn't get to try their desserts which looked ever so tempting. Most everything I laid eyes on behind the glass display looked good, but I really really want to try those basque cheesecake.... Well, I guess there will likely be a next time. read more

Didn't meet my daily nutrition needs. They also don't give you a receipt. My total should've come out to $20-25. Also very little indoor seating. Besides the bar stools, don't expect to find anywhere inside to sit. I believe it's by design for customers to order and takeout or dine at one of the outside tables. We ordered the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and Double Salmon Roll, and they were both solid choices. The fish isn't melt in your mouth, but the tuna, salmon and other ingredients were still high quality. Starving and having just dropped off my Amazon return, I decided to search Yelp for someplace new to try. I came across this to-go sushi place and decided to give it a shot. With my terrible sense of direction, I walked in a big circle and finally found the location. I walked inside to be greeted by two very friendly workers. The first thing I noticed was the display case containing all of the sushi/inari that they carry. Being my first time, they explained how the food is replaced with new ones every 2 hours so that it's always fresh when ordered. I decided to order the Meat Lover sushi roll, which appealed to me because of the cooked beef inside of it. The roll was pretty large and had an equal amount of meat/vegetables on the inside. The flavor was good, as well as the texture. The beef was tender, flavorful, and not dry. I was not disappointed. There's a few seats inside if you wanted to just eat there. Service was excellent, the workers were very helpful and gave input to help me choose what to get. Go give this place a shot! read more

I had already eaten lunch and was looking for ice cream, when I saw Iro Sushi. They had recently opened and were having a 50% off special on sushi, so I was intrigued. Iro Sushi specializes in inari, deep fried tofu pockets stuffed with sushi rice and various fillings. They had about eight different flavors of inari and several rolls. I got the Yuzu Scallop, two for only $4.49 with the half off deal. What a bargain! I haven't had inari in years, and this reminded me of how much I like them! I was glad that there weren't any ice cream shops in UTC, because I tried Iro Sushi instead. It was better than inari from the market, but at full price, it's a little on the expensive side. I'd probably need at least three orders to be full, which is a little steep. Staff is friendly and the store is quite stylish! Online ordering available. This review is just for the desserts served by the magnificent Braga Baker. I first experienced these delicious desserts when she was stationed in Tustin. She makes so many decadent treats like Orange Earl Grey Cake, Ube Cake, and a new seasonal Pumpkin Orange Mousse Cake. I actually order party cakes a week in advance through her IG page, and go pick up. My favorite is the Mango Cake with real mangoes and the best cream I've ever had on a cake. Updating my review to a 3.5 star. I ordered again from a delivery app and went to pick it up only to see that they locked the door and went on a lunch break from 3:40 to 5. However, I see from the delivery app that it said the status of the order was already picked up even though I didn't pick it up yet. It wasn't even that long after I ordered. I literally ordered and went straight to pick it up. However, they didn't call me or notify me in any way saying that they were going on lunch break/locking the door before leaving my order in plain sight in the restaurant. Perhaps it was because they are a fairly new restaurant, so there was some miscommunication. Also, I really hope that they can hire more workers to help or do something to help the situation.
