I'm a repeat customer at Yoo's Place waiting to eat lunch at and everyone gets seated with parties between 2-6 at 12:23 pm on 06/12/2026. There is nobody else standing in line outside and the owner comes outside to tell me 2 times that I need to wait 30-40 minutes. I told her there is no waiting in front of me, and that it should be first come, first serve. She says no, you can only sit on tables for 1 person and it will be a 30-40 min wait for that. I said okay, but if there is no line and people are done eating with empty tables it should be fine, right? There is a waitlist, and that it should go in order. She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? After being fed several videos on IG singing the praises of Yoo's Place, I'll admit I was both hopeful and skeptical of what they showed. The former because everything looked and sounded so good; the latter because it's hard to know whether you can trust what some of these foodie accounts are saying is truthful or paid for. Given how I write Yelp reviews, the irony in saying that doesn't escape me. However, now that I've been here several times, I can happily report that everything those IG accounts said was entirely true! Even though their complex isn't very large (parking is usually easy, but it can be scarce at time), Yoo's Place itself is decently large and always seems to have tables available for groups large or small. Similarly, their menu is rather extensive as well, to the point where it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to try most the first time we came here. Whether it be their appetizers, soups, stews, cold noodles, hot noodles, BBQ meats, stone pot dishes, bossam, broiled fish, galbijjim, and even omurice and Chinese dishes. In short, too many dishes for me to try before finally writing this! -- BANCHAN For the most part, all of these were great! Of the bunch, the fishcakes, kimchi, and radish were my favorites. I also like the kabocha a lot, but they sometimes slather too much mayo/sauce. -- HAEMUL PAJUN - Seafood & Green Onion Pancake As weird as it is to say, this almost came with too many goodies, as it was chock full of seafood and green onions. Definitely a nice problem to have, but I do wish there had been a bit more batter to make this crispier. -- HAEMUL KALGUKSU - Homemade Noodles with Seafood I don't get this often, so I don't know how it compares to others, but this tasted so good! The noodles had such a nice chew to them and I love that they didn't skimp on the seafood. Plus, the portion is large enough where you could easily stretch this into two meals! -- SEOLLEONG TANG - Ox Bone Soup Similar to the Haemul Kalguksu, this was one hearty bowl of soup! The broth was rich and beefy, there were several large chunks of meat, and there was a lot of noodles in this. Plus, I liked that they also included a lot of veggies and strips of eggs, too. -- DAKNALGAE TWIGIM - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Despite falling a bit short of what we hoped for, this was still pretty solid. While the portion initially seemed light (only about eight wings), each piece was HUGE, the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was juicy. I just wish it had been a little more flavorful. -- LA GALBI & (SUKEO) SOON TOFU COMBO - Marinated Beef Short Rib and Seafood & Beef Soon Tofu Soup The LA Galbi was great - meaty, well marinated, tender, lightly charred, and the portion was sizable for a combo. As for the Soon Tofu, it was terrific! The tofu soup was rich and hearty, had a good mix of beef and seafood, and was just so comforting. -- JAJANG MYUN - Noodles with Black Bean, Pork, Cream Sauce Maybe it's because I haven't had a legit Korean Jajang Myun in ages, but this was pretty good! The noodles were perfect and I love how it came loaded with plenty of pork and onions. The sauce had a bit of an aftertaste to it, but I still liked this. -- KODUNGAE - Broiled Mackerel This was delicious! Compared to the one we had at BCD, this one was deboned better and was just as big, if not bigger. Plus, not only was it still really moist, but the mackerel still had some crispy edges, too. -- KALBIJJIM - Braised Short Ribs While I do wish this had more chili peppers in this (it was really yellow), the taste of this was still awesome. More importantly, there was a fair amount of short ribs, which were so tender and meaty, along with rice noodles, glass noodles, cheese, and vegetables. SO GOOD! -- NAENGMYUN - Sliced Beef & Vegetables over Noodles with Spicy Sauce This was on the house (possibly from ordering the kalbijjim) and, even though it might have been a scaled down version of the dish, this was still so good! The noodles had the perfect chew, there was just a touch of heat, and the overall flavors were amazing! In addition to the food, the service here is fantastic. All of the workers are super friendly and the kitchen gets dishes out very quickly. What's more, the workers will happily refill any banchan dishes and every table comes with a small thermos of beef bone broth that is just so PERFECTLY DELICIOUS! Even when it's hot out, it still hits the spot - it's just so warm and comforting! Honestly, it's one of my favorite things at Yoo's Place! With so many options in Irvine and around the rest of OC, I know there may very well be better places than Yoo's Place, especially when it comes to a specific dish. However, I can't imagine that Yoo's Place isn't among the best of the bunch. Came here around 5:45 PM and it was busy but no line -- always a good sign. The interior is super bright and welcoming, and most of the staff are ajummas, which honestly gives it that comforting, homey Korean diner vibe. You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. I wanted to support a local business, but the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Seconds after placing my order, I walked over to ask nicely to change it, and the server snapped at me that she had already put it into the computer. When my boyfriend tried to calmly intervene, two of the servers started yelling at him as well. They blamed us for arriving "too late" at 8:30 PM, claiming that because they were closing the kitchen at 9:30 PM, they absolutely would not change the order. This behavior is completely unacceptable. The servers here seriously need training on basic customer service and how to speak to guests with a minimum level of respect. No one deserves to be treated the way we were tonight. Please save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers. read more

First time at Yoo's Place and I felt like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. There are so many items on the menu here, but I was really wanting naengmyun after a beach day. The restaurant wasn't that busy when I went. Super clean, the server was so sweet, and the food came out so fast. The banchan was on the sweeter side. I really enjoyed their kimchi and bean sprouts. My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. We went to Yoo's Place with a huge party. The food came out delicious and in a timely matter despite the amount we ordered. I especially loved the warm bone broth they served at no extra cost. I've never had anything like that before and it felt very homey. My favorite dish was definitely the ribs with cheese. This is my 3rd time at Yoo's place. I gotta say, their food is so consistent and Delicious! 10/10. No.1 for me is the Hotpot with Shortrib and potato. Three rows of thick-cut pork belly, glistening like it just descended from pork heaven itself. Juicy. Tender. Ridiculously satisfying. Wrap it in cabbage and then the flavor avalanche hits: %@#&*!... Eyes roll back. Cabbage crunch. Shrimp brine punch. Nutty ssamjang. Raw garlic kick. Jalapeño heat. Anger. Tears. Joy. All at the same time. It's too #$&@ good*. This was one of those days where nobody had energy for anything, so I swung by Yoo's Place after work to grab takeout for the family. Honestly it's worth the drive no matter where you're coming from -- even if you pass ten other Korean restaurants on the way. Right before leaving I paused at the doorway. Turned around. Closed my eyes. Took one deep breath. Just filling my lungs with that home-cooked Korean comfort smell before heading back into the chaos. Small mom and pop shop! Good service and ambience with plenty of seating. Our favorite part of the meal was the complimentary broth served which was so warm and yummy. I got the naengmyeon while my friend got their tofu soup. Although not the best I've had and the portion was a little small, it was still really good and I enjoyed my meal! Things that stood out to me: their banchan selection and they serve warm bone broth to drink upon arrival. I love kabocha squash so that banchan was my favorite. Fish cakes a bit too salty. Yoo's Place is a paradise for Korean food lovers. With one of the most comprehensive, diverse Korean menus, Yoo's Place offers amazing flavors in a tucked away business plaza off Jamboree. Parking can be a hassle in this small plaza so it's best to go straight to the basement parking if you're short on time. For my first visit, I got to try quite a spread, and not a single dish disappointed. To start, their banchan spread had a great variety including kimchi, fishcake, bean sprouts, and a really delicious pumpkin with what tasted like onion cream. You also get a little thermos filled with beef broth for a little cup of comfort to go with your meal. As for the food, I got to try these memorable bites this visit: Tangsuyuk, with chewy, crispy pork with a tangy sweet and sour sauce. A great hit at the table. It was almost gone despite our feast. Yuringi chicken, with extra crispy fried chicken cutlets topped with peppers on a bed of cabbage pooled with a tart soy based sauce. This was so addictive, I could not stop reaching for another bite. Rice cake soup with dumplings. Their take on this classic dish reminds me of the kind of home cooking that makes you want to go out to eat. With a milky bone broth, tender rice cakes, and incredible mandu boiled to perfection and filled plump to the brim with tender meat. And their mung bean pancake was so crisp on the outside while being moist and so flavorful on the inside. I was blown away by how delicious each bite of every dish I tried was here. I discovered Yoo's Place when I went to the spa next door. When I was done with my treatment, I was hungry and this looked like the best dinner option in the plaza. Best spontaneous discover ever! For those looking for parking, there is an underground parking structure for the plaza. Upon entering, staff welcomed me into a half booth. I really like that they have all of the dishes, utensils, water, cups, napkins so you can grab whatever you need. The menu looks incredible. They have all of my Korean favorites like naengmyun, tofu soup, galbi, and kalguksu. I decided to get the #67 LA Galbi + Soon Tofu Combo, where I opted for the Beef Tofu Soup mild. The waitress brought over side dishes and purple rice. Yay I love purple rice. They also left something else on the table but I didn't know what it was. Later on, Becky, who seemed to be in a management role, came over and asked me if it was my first time at their restaurant. Wow I must look new. She told me that the container had their beef bone broth, and you can pour it into a cup and drink it. Wow! This broth is INCREDIBLE! That alone was enough for me to come back. The galbi came out really quickly and the tofu soup came out soon after. The galbi was well marinated and tasty. The tofu soup had a deep broth flavor that is superior to any other tofu soup places in the area. It tasted really healthy and clean but flavorful. Just when I thought I couldn't possibly love this place more... Becky brought out sample portions of their naengmyun, or cold noodles. She said it was their house special and she really wanted all the first timers to try it. She dropped it off at another table too who had first timers. Wow this was SO DELICIOUS. I love naengmyun and this is one of the best I've had. The only thing I didn't love was their side dishes. I actually declined refills, which is a first for me. We were excited to try this place in a mall that has so much great food options to begin with. Menu is very extensive which is not always a good sign when it comes to Korean food. Banchan had a nice variety and the bean sprouts were excellent. A small issue is the kimchi itself was older and you know that as it's more sour and less firm. Soon dobu was excellent. Well balanced heat and deep rich broth. Tang Su Yuk was a massive portion , great for sharing. It was good but had slightly too much breading. My boyfriend and I pulled up on a Sunday night around ~7pm and there was a bit of wait. There were 4 parties ahead of us. When we were eventually seated, we were quickly taken care of. First off, valet parking is nonexistent here, it's just a parking lot with additional parking so be not afraid. I was deterred for a moment expecting strangers to drive your car and having to tip them... was too hungry to deal with any and all of that so thank Yoo! Second, authentic Korean food, from instantly refilled banchan to hot broth in a thermos on every table, all the utensils and covers on the spoons, you don't need anything else but to order. The food arrives fresh and fast. Unlike a lot of other places these guys don't just prioritize to go/online orders. There's a decent amount of vegetarian friendly dishes for pretty much every kind of entree or appetizer and my own Korean mom to mix up my bibimbap as it sizzles in the hot stone pot. The beef & mushroom bibimbap was really tasty & also quite large! We got it with the spicy sauce on the side so that it wasn't too upsetting to the stomach. The buckwheat cold noodles was in theory a good idea, but the noodles and the soup base itself both tasted kind of weird, maybe like some insufficiently filtered water or other ingredients - the cold noodles sold in the freezer section at H-Mart taste cleaner and better to us. The banchan complimentary side dishes were mostly pretty tasty - my favorite was the cucumbers, which was in a red paste but not spicy at all! The staff were really attentive, helpful, and nice people. The only weird thing is that they like to have people sit at a specific table as they come into the restaurant, but we didn't want that table so we just sat at the table by the window we preferred. The vibe was definitely what I'd imagine to be a more authentic, old-school Korean atmosphere, which is interesting to get to experience right here in Irvine, but it was a little different from the dining experiences we've had at Korean food establishments in Honolulu and even other establishments in Irvine like Baekjeong. It's probably what the owners wanted, so that's a success for them, and there were quite a few regulars there as well, so it's a great sign for those who know and love this type of Korean dining! read more

Yoo's Place is a casual Korean restaurant with locations in Buena Park, Westminster, and this one in Irvine. This location is in a small plaza with surface level parking and more covered parking underneath. We ordered the #24 maeun kalbijjim ($69.95 for medium) and the #5 mamun daknalgae twigim ($20.95 for 8 pieces). The short ribs were tender and we added the cheese on top ($5). The server removed the meat from the bones and mixed everything together. They have a non-spicy version of the kalbijjim but we liked the bit of spice. The kalbijjim included glass noodles, potatoes, carrots, dates, and rice cakes; the rice cakes looked to be the bigger more authentic ones. The wings had a thin batter with a crunchy exterior and a hint of spice. We ended up coming back again a week later and wanted to try some other dishes. We ordered the #59 jajang myun ($15.95) and the #67 LA galbi + soon tofu ($31.95). The noodles were decent but I thought could've used a little more salt. The galbi was good and I liked the spice in the soup even though we only got level 1. The restaurant looks to be family run and the workers were very friendly. My go-to spot for jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk!! I did notice the portion for jjajangmyeon seemed smaller than the last time I went, but I can never finish the whole portion of tangsuyuk. I feel like this is a common problem, because they keep the sauce on the side: the tangsuyuk stays crispy, even if you have to take leftovers home! Overall, both dishes are very tasty. Considering the variety of dishes they offer, I'm pleasantly surprised that every single one I've tried has been delicious. They also give so many banchan, including three types of kimchi. I appreciate that service is quick, and that hot broth is given as well. There are TVs on the walls, so can be a little bit noisy. However, that hasn't deterred me from going back! One of the better Korean restaurants in Irvine. I especially enjoy their Jokbal(pig feet) and their cold noodles. Every time I went the owner was there making sure every table was satisfied with their meals. You can tell they truly care about each dish they serve. What a wonderful place! The portions are massive!! I went with a large group of friends and they were so attentive with our dishes, table space, water, and requests. Yoo's Place is a solid spot for comforting Korean dishes, and even though not every dish is a hit, there's enough variety of tasty items to keep us come back. Some of our faves include: the clam kalguksu, which comes loaded with clams (honestly, most of their seafood dishes are great because they don't skimp on the seafood). Speaking of seafood, their seafood pancake is another standout, it's like a thick deep-dish pajeon, crispy on the outside, packed with shrimp and squid, and easily shareable. Have come here a few times with friends for lunch. Decent amount of seating inside and can get busy around lunchtime with a lot of people visiting from the nearby businesses. Pretty straightforward and simple layout with no overly loud music. Solid Korean food with variety on the menu. I've had multiple items here over my visits - deep fried chicken wings, bibim naengmyun (spicy cold noodles with beef), short ribs, spicy pork, mandu guk, omurice, the dolpan ojingeo (squid over rice in sizzling stone spot), and honestly things have been really hit or miss. Things that have been great - the chicken wings, cold noodles, and in general the meat. Chicken wings were flavorful, crispy and tender. Cold noodles on a hot day were refreshing, the perfect amount of flavor, and always a solid choice. The meat like the short ribs and spicy pork have always been solid portions, very flavorful, and items I would order again. The banchan selection has good variety and I enjoy each of the dishes, especially the radish kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and fishcake. Things that were disappointing and wish I could have my money back - mandu guk and omurice. Dumpling soup is one of my favorite dishes, and I felt like this dish really missed the mark. The dumplings left a lot to be desired in terms of filling, flavor, and the soup itself was not not that clean, light, but flavorful beef broth I expected. Omurice was basically inedible, virtually no meat, egg had no taste, mostly rice with other small items in it and the food temperature was not even warm. Before I could say service was consistently decent, but my experience today has to be mentioned. We had some leftovers from our meal: naengmyun, squid rice, and short ribs. Our server gave us two containers (one of which was tiny), which was not enough and I needed a third for my short ribs. I asked for another box or container, and was given an unusually hard time by the cashier for needing another takeout container. This was really off-putting, we just spent $70 on lunch for two people, and I couldn't even get an extra takeout container so that my cold noodles, rice, and meat could each be separated. Overall, I wish I could give this place a higher rating and I think I'm already being generous because some of the food has high highs. The lows are very low, and my most recent service experience really put me off. To be honest, the pricing is pretty expensive for what you get. read more

My only regret was not taking more pictures because we were so hungry. We ordered the mak-guksu, jajang myun, and tang soo yook. My family is from Incheon so we're all about the jajangmyun and the noodles here were chewy just like back home. They give a good portion, enough to feed the three of us. The tang soo yook is a must when you order jajangmyun because it pairs so well together. They gave a very generous amount of this as well with a big bowl to dip the fried pork in. It basically tastes like sweet and sour pork but better. And the mak-guksu was a great palate cleanser to end the meal. Service was good, they checked in every so often and the food came out relatively quick. I love the environment of this restaraunt. Its very homely, the korean lady waiters are efficient, patient, and will teach non Korean patrons how to eat certain foods or package it home. They were very considerate even like moving us to a bigger table when they noticed the dishes wouldn't fit. The side dish/busser is also very attentive and you often see families come here to eat. I still think its good to come here for the naengmyeon and the breadth of korean food available. They serve a side of bone broth now in a warmed thermos bottle and it always hits, though no iced barley tea. Their tonkatsu is gigantic and very shareable. I love the banchan. The kimchi is okay and fresh, the cucumbers this time had a nice flavor and crunch. The fishcake is cooked well not too oily. Kabocha squash has a bit of a creamy garlic taste. My favorites this time was the acorn jelly (nice slightly sweet braised flavor) and pickled radish ( very crunchy and flavorful) This time we got the naengmyeon combo. The naengmyeon came in a big size as always, had the perfect texture noodles and plenty of radish. This time felt like less meat and a less flavorful broth ( was icier), definitely adding in more vinegar enhanced the refreshing taste, but I remember my first times one was more delicious. The galbi flavor was cooked well but it seemed like quite a bit of bones so I'd stick to just the cold noodles. I really wanted to try the dolsot bibimbap so we got the squid one. Be sure to not disrupt the bottom when you get it so the beautiful crust can form. The flavor was okay, i wish i could add more gochujung and sesame oil and it felt cabbage heavy. But nice amount of squid and portion. Next time I'll try to the original dolsot bibimbap. Overall, its a nice homely restaraunt that you'll want to come support and feel more welcomed as a non korean. I remain liking the banchan and recommending the cold noodles. I discovered this spot through a yelp elite event and had to make it a point to return with my husband. If you love Korean cold noodle, this is definitely the spot to check it out. They have vinegar and mustard at the table to customize your broth to your exact preferences. My husband ordered the kalbi which was also a hit with him and we loved that the food comes out so quick especially since we were so hungry. My only comment would be that we tried the steamed dumplings this time but definitely think their fried ones are the better of the two! We love the quick service for lunch and will be back with our son so he can try the kalbijiim. read more
