Been wanting to try this place for a while now and we finally went a couple days ago. It's a small quiet place, but don't let that turn you away! Food was great, we had two different kind of bento combinations, gyoza and tempura. Everything was good and service was great. If you are hesitant, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent service! Excellent food! Fresh, cool and clean inside also. We ordered four rolls and devoured them! Definitely will be back.

    Lion roll.

I was looking forward to having a roll tonight from here because I've been before and it was bomb! I don't know if it's because I got it to go or what, but the rice and the tempura shrimp was extremely dry. There was hardly any fish too and no taste. I couldn't even eat it and one roll was $25! I won't be going back.

More avocado that fish in the roll
That orange blob with the crispy stuff on top is a heaping teaspoon of mayo

Disgusting!! The Rainbow roll had old Tuna and super fatty Salmon on it, the tuna was room temperature and the salmon cold on it. Super weird and tasted funky 3 of us had one bite and we were disgusted. They blobbed a heaping teaspoon of mayo on top of the volcano roll and some of the pieces only had avocado in them SERIOUSLY Disgusting!!

    Volcano roll and Bonsai roll

We always come here when in Galt, as it always provides great food, service, and a calm and cozy atmosphere!!

The food is always great! My family and I get sushi here at least once a month but the udon and everything else is very tasty as well :) The staff are polite and it's a small restaurant so you get served very quickly. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Galt!

Great teriyaki salmon! Sake isn't bad and the staff is really great. Enjoyed it and would definitely go visit again.

Even so, the quality is still there. The fish is fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and overall, the food is consistently good and I'm satisfied every visit, even when doing take out. I do hope they expand someday because the restaurant itself is pretty small and gets very busy. Minh, the owner, is there every day and clearly takes a lot of pride in the work and care that goes into curating each dish. Here are a few of our favorites: Hamachi Crudo 5/5 Roll Over Lobster 5/5 Crispy Brussel Sprouts 5/5 Salmon Skin Trio Handroll 5/5: one of my favorites Preggo Roll 4/5 - my kids love this lol Smokey Peyton 5/5: my personal favorite To Die For 5/5 Inferno Roll 4/5 Killer Bri 4/5 The M 5/5 - this is the most expensive roll on their menu but it's good. We've also had their nigiri and sashimi, and both have always been excellent. They also have omakase which I still have yet to experience. Overall, the dishes here are worth it and if you deep pockets, you can easily splurge.

Ambiance was so so, more like a bar than Japanese Resturaunt. 2. Service was poor. 3. Food was fair, we had several rolls (too much rice) and a bento. I do not consider this authentic Japanese cusine. 4. The things that made me give this rating were that they calculated the tip on the total that included the sales tax and CVC fee, this is not honest. They also charged a credit card fee of 3.84%, first they do not pay this high of credit card charge to AMEX, also why not roll this expense in the price of the food and beverage. Very few places that charge this fee that I am aware of.

We were the only customers and got there around 6:30. My only critique is that there were a lot of employees and we were the only patrons, yet our two servers did seem distracted and forgot a couple of things throughout the meal. I'm giving grace for that because it was a very slow night and they were probably just chit chatting in the back. I would've had no issue giving this 5 stars if it wasn't for that one small thing. Service otherwise was very friendly and quick The food was fantastic! As a Japanese American who's been eating sushi since I was in the womb, I have to disagree with the yelper who recently said the rolls are too small and too expensive. The rolls we ordered were huge and the fish was very fresh and on par with M sushi and Komachi. Is it a luxurious loungy city style vibe? No. But the food is great and the prices are fair imo for the extremely fresh and delicious fish. We ordered two bowls of miso, salmon tataki roll (I only wished for more onions!), the spicy crunchy scallop roll (my new favorite roll in Lodi), snow crab CA roll, and I think the last one was a dragon roll with unagi. They were all great. We were def pleasantly surprised by Yume and will absolutely be coming back.

Expect to wait an hour for your food after you have been seated. We arrived close to opening at noon on a Sunday and did not leave until 2pm which is when they close for lunch. We sat at the back right side of the restaurant which is where the AC is blasting so it can get very cold when seated here. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.
