Goss is a talented singer with a super band and two wonderful backup singers. The four dancers, the Dirty Virgins, are talented also and are good eye candy. I was glad that Goss spent more time with non-Sinatra songs than trying to put on a Sinatra show. By doing some original music as well as covering others, it made for a variety of styles. The one thing I didn't like about Goss and some other performers is the "raise your hands and clap with me." I'll clap if I want to or snap my fingers if I want to. I feel this is a cheap way of trying to build excitement or rapport with the singer. To me, it's phony. I did like his interaction with some audience members. I also liked his "Lovely Las Vegas" song. Being a local, songs about my wonderful city are always welcome. The 1 OAK setting is OK. It got a little crowded where I was because they brought in a few more chairs in our area. While I liked the show, it's not a return kind of show for me. I've seen him. I know what his voice is like. I don't need to experience the show again. read more

I'm too young to have seen Frank Sinatra live, but if there was a Vegas show that captures his music and performance, I'd imagine it be Matt Goss. If it weren't for the blue billboards all around town, I would've never heard of MG so I had no idea what to expect. By the end of the night I said this show is perfect for couples having classy intimate night. The venue is the 1OAK nightclub and stepping inside you'll find the dancefloor made up of chairs and side tables for drink menus. I didn't partake in the cocktails, but the custom drinks ranged from the Matt Goss Martini, Tuxedo, and a few others, all of which are $18. But if you're lucky and MG engages you in the show, he may communicate to the bar to send tequila your way. And he does get the audience involved so prep your clapping hands and snapping fingers. We were seated in the dancefloor chairs so we were like, RIGHT in front of the stage and it'd be tough not to participate. Not a problem because it was genuinely fun. He played classic Sinatra, covers of Alicia Keys, Kanye West, and The Eagles, and he even had an original song for the city of Las Vegas. All in all a good fun show. read more

I honestly didn't know much about Matt Goss before I saw his show, but we were staying at the Mirage and had seen his billboards and thought why not. Know that the 1-OAK is actually a night club turned into a concert venue for the show. We splurged for the seats more center as it's possible you could be placed on the side or worse, behind the band. Seating is assigned as your arrive so arrive early, although I did notice some seats were obviously reserved for special groups. This man is extremely talented and has a great pop/crooner voice. I didn't know any of his songs going in, but they are great tunes. He does a few standards, but not enough to overshadow his own music. The night we saw the show, there was obviously several fans there from overseas where he's more popular. Matt does an incredible job of interacting with the audience throughout the show. If you don't like that type of thing, I wouldn't sit near the front as he's bound to say something to you or make you stand up and do 'something'. Knowing that, I'm going to admit I hate audience participation, however with the way he incorporates it and the intimate venue, I found myself clapping and snapping along. At one point he sang one of his hits and invited anyone that knew it to come down front and sing/dance along. Since I didn't know the song, it was a bit awkward. I also had no desire to stand, but the crowd sure enjoyed it. There's a lot of drinking at this show. In fact, Matt obliviously loves tequila and was constantly having it delivered to anyone having a really good time and/or someone he interacted with and possibly made fun or made to do something funny. So if you want free drinks throughout the show, definitely sit down front and go with the flow! To wrap up, this is more than a concert, it's a show. Dancing girls, an extremely tight band and great backup singers (their facial expressions along were fun to watch). If you're looking to just sit back and listen to the music, this may not be for you, or ask to sit near the back. Know that it's very loud due do the intimate venue, but also make sure to say hi to Matt's manager who works the floor before the show and delivers the drinks Matt gives away during the show. Matt Goss has always been a great entertainer. Writing a review about his talent would be an insult since hes so well known and played in Vegas for so long. The only thing one can really review is the venue and the price of the drinks. With that in mind the drink menu has all drinks priced at $18 and a virgin cocktail is $10. I'm sure well drinks are a bit less but be prepared to pay a pretty penny to compensate the busty servers. While 1OAK is great for audio and lighting the layout for this show is not the best. The room is wide and narrow. If youre sitting anywhere but the booths in the middle of the room or the tables in the middle youre either uncomfortably close or on the side with led lights in your face. We actually got sat on the side which would be great in an arena it doesn't do his act any favors. It'd be better if they put cocktail chairs at the bar since theyd be the best seats in the house. Would I go back? Sure. It's a great start to anyones night. Just prefer to see him in a better venue perhaps the Sayers Club at SLS or at Rose Rabbit Lie. I think he has talent. He's at his best when he sings the old Sinatra's standards and swing songs.. However, the show Sept. 8th was all over the place. From jazz to hip/hop, pop to rock. He couldn't seem to decided what type of show he wanted to do and because of that we never got into the rhythm of the night. We left a bit early. Too bad, my first time seeing him and I can't recommend him. 2 stars for the band. As for the venue, we paid $150 and didn't get prime seating. It seems it's general admission and you must get there early to get the best seat. So why did we pay so much? So unfair. Also, I asked for a water and was charged $10. Still one of the best shows in Vegas the room at 1 oak is great and there are no bad seats. The new Sinatra of Vegas and really someone who saw Sinatra several time Matt really put on a more intimate show. Always go a few night when we are in town. read more

I was invited to this by my family, I love music LIKE Frank Sinatra used to sing, so I thought this would be a hit for me. It turned out to be the singular worst show I've ever seen in Las Vegas. First of all, the venue was FREEZING, my entire party and the other people on the long couches were cold as well. The sound system was up much too loud for how small this lounge room was. The venue itself, which isn't ENTIRELY Matt's fault, charges $10 for a puny bottle of water. In addition, he spent half of the show talking about himself and giving the excited people in the front free drinks that they VERY MUCH DID NOT NEED, they CAME drunk! Throughout his talks, he was either thanking us for coming to his show OR going on about how great he was, demonizing his ex, talking about how much money he's made, who he's played for. Making political comments about how he "doesn't need a movement to tell him how to treat a lady" because he's "such a gentleman" while proceeding to hit on every woman, married or not, in the front row. No Matt, you are not a gentleman, and YES you obviously do need that movement. His dancers were very okay, I felt bad for them, they must've been cold with how minute their costumes were. His backup singers and band were fantastic, though after all of those comments about "being a gentleman" were made, it began to rub me the wrong way that all of the male band members (who were incredibly talented btw) were given the luxury of suits and jackets while his female backup singers were only able to wear short, sleeveless dresses with no jackets of any kind. Very gentlemanly of you, Matt. When he did sing, it was okay. Just very okay. Not worth the money. Frank Sinatra would be insulted to be compared to this arrogant pigeon of a man. The show was about 2 hours long, which was an hour longer than it should have been. It felt like an eternity because of his insufferable attitude. I ended up leaving with my grandmother within the last 15 minutes or so. I don't know if I could've withstood the cold, the loudness, and the bragging and uncomfortable flirting any longer. I'd advise against this show. Go see one of the Cirque shows instead, at least you're getting your money's worth there! read more

Don't waste your time. A Sinatra he is not, his rendition of Luck Be A Lady Tonight really sucked. After a song he would cater to the group sitting in the front buying them drinks and chit chatting with them. What really amazes me the guy really thinks he can sing. Wow. I can't remember the last floor show I went to that was this good! Intimate venue, 8 piece band was tight, backup singers, and dancers. Matt even got us tequila shots. He really is an amazing entertainer and host. Highly recommended. My wife and I also loved the dancer Kelly, she killed it, and Joe the floor manager. Everyone was amazingly nice. Sensational! Matt Goss is incredibly talented, not to mention witty and charming. His show was such a pleasant and refreshing surprise, taking the audience back in time to classic lounge shows. Matt sang masterfully, mixing classics along with updates on popular tunes (Hotel California) and some of his own compositions in the tasteful 1 Oak club at the Mirage Hotel. His band, which included a horn section, were highly professional and energetic. His backup singer bantered well with he and the band. He also had a quartet of dancers who were delightfully cheeky! The audience had an absolutely great time, as did my daughter and I. Matt's show is one that I would absolutely recommend any friends visiting LV to see! read more
