I have had both very positive and very disappointing most recent experiences with this dental clinic. On the positive side, the clinic has done excellent work for my children in past.They made dental treatment for my youngest son very well, and I truly appreciated their care and professionalism at that time. Recently, communication was a serious probler. On one occasion, my kid was scheduled for a dental extraction, and I was instructed not to feed him before the procedure. He went without food from morning until afternoon, but when we arrived, the doctor decided not to perform the extraction. naturally, medical decisions can change, but situations like this must have clear communication, especially when children and special needs are involved (autism spectrum). Today, I called the office, was told to wait, and then I heard clearly that the phone was simply picked up and hung up. That was very disappointing. I believe healthcare should be based not only on professional skill, but also on compassion, respect, and communication. If I could give Dr Nashed's office less than 0 stars, I would do so without hesitation. My son was referred to Dr Nashed's office for oral surgery. Ahead of the surgery, communication was clear and straightforward. On the day of the surgery, things took a much different and unprofessional turn. We arrived early, but the office representative was rude and told us we needed to wait for the doctor. When the doctor finally arrived, he walked past us, failing to acknowledge me and my visibly anxious son. When the dental technician arrived, her attitude was the same; she did not even look at us. At this point, I need to acknowledge the anesthesiologist and her team. They were excellent, kind, compassionate, and professional. They were not Dr. Nashed's office employees but rather a separate provider. After the procedure, Dr. Nashed did not speak with me again, even though he walked past me. His bedside manner was poor at best, and he displayed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. I could stop there. However, my interaction with the office got worse. I had been trying to work with the office regarding an out-of-pocket insurance overpayment for nearly five months. During that time, I made dozens of phone calls and sent numerous emails with no responses. When I finally spoke with someone, I am guessing the receptionist, she was beyond rude and threatened to hang up on me. After that exchange, I escalated the situation with my insurance company; it was only after the insurance company informed Dr. Nashed's office, they were in a potential breach of contract that steps were taken to remedy the situation. As with previous negative reviews, I am sure Dr Nashed's office will claim no record of me or my son being a patient; however, as the contemporary phrase goes, I have receipts. If you are looking for a kind, compassionate, professional dentist or oral surgeon, I implore you to look elsewhere. I have had more professional and empathetic experiences at urgent care, emergency room, and even the local 7-Eleven. It's hard to overstate some of the issues in this office from the dentist to his aides but here it goes: 1. We waited for 50 minutes on our 1st visit before an assistant took X-rays. 2. During this 1st visit, Dr. Nashed only evaluated the X-rays. He did not do an examination of our son's mouth. Poor evaluations, without examinations, lead to poor assessments and recommendations. 3. Dr. Nashed made a number of unhelpful comments including about the primary non-English language I was speaking with my child. He misidentified the language and once I corrected him, he kept repeating "thank you" and "hello" in our language. This is generally harmless -- even if annoying -- but given points 1 and 2, begs the question about his ability to focus on the task at hand. 4. During our 2nd visit, another aide realized that the dentist needed additional x-rays, but only tried to do so 40 minutes after giving our son an oral sedative!! So, of course, the x-rays were blurry. We found a new dentist who noted that our son's tooth could not be saved, in contrast to Dr. Nashed's opinion to do a baby root canal. Our new dentist pointed to the decay in the tooth based on the X-rays from Dr. Nashed's office to come to a different assessment. The office is disorganized and chaotic, even with the number of staff. read more

Dr. Nashed and his staff (especially Bing) are incredible! Their team has always been so supportive and have provided excellent orthodontic treatment to my two sons. Both of my sons required braces for their over bites and misaligned teeth. The care and treatment they received here has been far superior in every way. Where do I begin! I already love going to the dentist, but every time I come in here I don't ever have to wait more than five minutes until I'm seen. They're always so warm and welcoming and I love that they have so many accommodations for children. They are efficient and they are amazing at cleaning my teeth and not only providing me with one but multiple options for any issues I had with my teeth at the time. Never one to complain of bad experience but this is one I have to share. Would not recommend this place. I got my braces treatment here & went for a fixed retainer (permanent retainer) after treatment. The cement behind my tooth chipped and needed immediate replacement. The office was kind enough to squeeze me in and asked for pricing on re-cementing on ONE tooth. I was quoted $70-85 for re-cementing and starting $175 for entirely replacing. Thankfully I was able to get re-cemented on 1 tooth and was going to walk out with a $70-85 bill.... I go to the receptionist to pay and after much back and forth on what my pricing would be and was charged $175. I was not expecting that as my retainer was not replaced AT ALL, only re-cemented on ONE tooth, and for $175 I would have replaced the entire fixed retainer on ALL teeth not just re-cement 1 tooth. I left feeling robbed, angry and disappointed that I did not stand up for myself paid and walked away. By no means do I wish bad on this orthodontist but hope this review really helps avoid this from happening to a future patient. read more

Dr. Nashed helps through every problem that might arise while using Invisalign and he really makes sure that you come in frequently to check if everything is going alright. Let's start out with the consultation - Dr Nashed was curt, in a hurry, and very impatient with any questions I had. He said, "I am very busy; this is a complimentary consultation so I don't have time for your questions. If you have some, schedule a time with my staff at a later time." OK... Anyway, we agreed to a price and service. This went without hitch. We went in for the initial service and to review and sign the contract conditions today. The financial contracts had many conditions that specified what obligations I, the customer, had such as: -Payment terms and late payment charges -Charges for additional services as replacement dentures, damage to the braces, -Customers obligation to pay the amount in full regardless if they decide at a later date to switch - to another doctor. Of course, this also involved an additional transfer fee. - Basically, the contracts are written in detail to protect the doctor for any fees the customers do not pay. This is a business. I understand. - The doctor reserves the right to charge additional fees above and beyond the original quote if he deems that additional work is necessary. However, there were no protections for the customer in the contract. I requested the following changes: Condtion 1, Strike the text that stated, "the doctor reserves the right to charge additional fees above and beyond the original quote if he deems that additional work is necessary". I didn't agree with this. Condition 2, although there was a lot of detail requiring the customer to pay the doctor regardless of future circumstances, there were no conditions protecting the customer in the event the doctor did not perform his duties. I requested for content to be added to address Condition 2, which the customer is NOT required to pay in the event the doctor did not render his services. Quid pro quo, right? I asked that Condition 1 be struck from the contract and for content to be added to address Condition 2, which the customer is NOT required to pay in the event the doctor did NOT render his services. What this means is, if the doctor does not complete his work for any reason, you, the customer is still obligated to pay him in full. This is wrong. Daisy, the office manager said, "don't worry, these things never happen". I said," good, then strike Condition 1 and add Condition 2". She responded, "I can't change the contract." and was not willing to provide any protections for the customer. She concluded, "If you can't accept our contract, fine." And with that, we left. To make matters worse, I later found out that Dr. Nashed disparaged me to my daughter. While I was discussing these unfair financial conditions of this contract with Daisy, Dr. Nashed unwisely and unprofessionally disparaged me to my daughter by asking, "Is your father always this difficult?". Disparaging a customer interested in correcting an unfair contract makes me difficult? Saying this to my daughter... is this professional? I think not. So customers, be forewarned: Dr. Nashad's contract provides 100% protections for him, and 0% for you, the customer. Readers: there are many orthodontists around. Read the reviews, particularly his Arcadia practice. They are true. Dr. Nashed also made my daughter very uncomfortable, stating he was impolite and impatient. This, with the imbalanced contractual terms, lack of willingness to balance them, plus the nasty comments from the doctor, made the decision to walk away very easy. I feel bad for those that already signed the contract. Enough said. BUYER BEWARE: READ THE CONTRACT FIRST, THEN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

My dentist referred me to this specialist due to multiple cavities with my 5 year old. As soon as I called to schedule an appointment, I knew it was going to be bad when I called twice and was left on hold for a good amount of time and then both times was hung up on. Finally, I managed to get an appointment and went in to the real disaster. The office was cluttered and just uncomfortable, the doctor lacked professionalism along with his staff who continued to argue about my child's x rays. Dr Nash even had the nerve to blame me for not bringing the x rays with me. He continuously tried to push Iv sedation on my little one and insisted on it. I know, one star? I've been here twice, as I wanted to give this provider the benefit of the doubt. The amount of time you spend waiting is unacceptable. The first time it happened, I thought "maybe it's just a busy day." When we went last week, I waited OVER AN HOUR before we were seen. Mind you, I have a toddler. Waiting is NOT fun when you have a 2 year old. The waiting room was packed to the brim. The toys were OK but some were broken, like a stool (pending lawsuit anyone?). The person who was supposed to clean her teeth did not speak English. I am not exaggerating. We spoke though gestures. And she didn't clean her teeth because, you guessed it, a two year old does not bode well after being stuck waiting for over an hour. They gave me the supplies so I could do it at home. Will my insurance reimburse me since I'm doing the job instead? Probably not. Then after fumbling with a balloon for over a minute, I said it's okay. And then I was left alone....no one came to tell me if we were done or what I was supposed to do. So I left. And I will never return. This place is awful. Best Dentist I ever have been to, I am a 45 year old baby boy. I have been going 3 years now. I have 3 girls and my ex wife got her braces done here. I started out really scared as usual. Now I trust Dr Nashed 100%. The last time I had a cavity, he fixed it and I didn't feel a single shred of pain. Not in the slightest. My girls are big babies too. I came in last year to get my lower permanent retainer removed (installed by a different ortho) since the glue kept breaking. My first appointment to get it removed and review my options went well. After the old wire was removed, the assistant took an impression of my teeth. During the impression, the assistant pushed unevenly creating a poor cast of my teeth. I didn't notice the error until they gave me my retainer. The retainer didn't fit my teeth and the assistant didn't bother to check the alignment. The retainer has since broken and the office wouldn't provide a discount since it was their error in the first place. DO NOT come to this office if you are looking for quality work. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences here. I am an Invisalign patient and have been for a long time, including with another orthodontist prior to moving to California. Dr. Nashed treats me like he cares personally. His staff is friendly and responsive to my calls and emails. I like to provide fair Yelp reviews, and in doing so, only stop from providing Dr. Nashed five stars because, I mean, the office isn't perfect. The waiting area is a little small, though parking - which is occasionally a premium in Long Beach - is ample. I guess the office could be more modern. Overall, this is a just a good, caring, dental office. Could it be shinier, sleeker, and more chic? I suppose. But, I don't plan on changing my provider anytime soon, and that's about as good an indication of my satisfaction as I can think of. Recommended!! read more

Yes. Let's just say there's something fishy about yelp reviews when they range from one star and 5 stars and hardly anything in between. Dr Nashed pushes anesthesia on your child. My child has sat through a root canal with local anesthetic with another dentist. he is 4 yrs old. Yet Dr Nashed insists my child needs it so he can "do his job". Even when they were taking my child's X-rays he was very cooperative and easy to work with. Yet this dumb doctor won't work on your child unless he has it his way and your child is knocked out or loopy under the table. He makes you feel dumb when you have a concern about his methods. And he's very short with you. I cant believe this doctor works with children. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DR. THIS IS AN UPDATE AFTER DR NASHED'S REVIEW. While you are correct on the dates. You are explicitly lying about he facts. My son was cooperative during the X-rays and exams. My husband also did not say he will reschedule. He left your office very upset and signed the form only because he wanted to get our son out of there. He told you "that's enough of this " after your rude unprofessional demeanor when you seemed obviously annoyed with all his questions. You are also lying about not forcing sedation. Every time we are there you tell us you cannot work on my son bc he needs to be sedated. I felt very pressured every time. And when my husband or I would tell you "please try general anesthesia first because he's had a root canal done already and he was fine", you would respond with an annoyed tone "you have to let me do my job!". When you did try general anesthesia I was not in the room. You would not allow parents back there. So you called me back shortly after and told me you can't do the work bc he's not cooperative. He was very calm and normal when I saw him. And another fact you are incorrect with is why we're there in the first place. We were referred to you because our general dentist doesn't work on kids... NOT BECAUSE MY SON IS UNCOOPERATIVE AND NEEDS SEDATION. While I would never want anyone to lose their jobs. In my personal opinion Dr Nashed, you should lose your license and stop working on kids. read more
