The omelet was thin and basic. Nothing wrong with it, just could have made it better at home. Kettle chips were tasty. Sandwich fillings to bread ratio was off and lettuce was limp. The star of the show was the delicious whole grain bread but it was a little too thick cut for a satisfying sandwich experience. I love breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day. I'm always looking for a breakfast spot around Phoenix but I seem to get disappointed. When we first looked at the menu, we thought that there wasn't much of a variety to choose from. We started to get a bit disappointed. We decided to stay and try it. We ordered a half stack of pancakes, breakfast sandwich, and eggs, bacon and toast with the yummiest preserves. We were so glad we stayed. That was one of THE best breakfasts I have ever had. Been wanting to go to this location since I have gone to the Phoenix location before. The place was way bigger. There is outdoor seating and a small bar seating too! They definitely utilize every square foot of the place with tables. So be aware if you are bring anyone who has a cane, walker, etc; it will be difficult to maneuver to your table. My husband and I wanted to squeeze in a breakfast date before work. So we were worried they were busy. But after putting my name down they had it ready after 2 minutes. (Keep in mind we went on a Wednesday). The service was fast! I asked to the breakfast sandwich over easy but the eggs came over medium to hard. And my husband got the special. The sandwich was great with the hash brown. The French toast was delicious. My husband just wished to have gotten eggs but that's just an excuse to go back again. read more

I don't really recommend this place. My wife and I went there recently. We were excited because it looked good. The food was "ok". I got a breakfast sandwich and the sandwich itself was alright, nothing bad but nothing really great. My wife got an avocado toast that was not great at all. The avocado was bland and way too many toppings. The topping s also had a lot of sunflower seeds she had to pick through. I also got the hash browns which was very soggy in the center. A server switched it out for the potatoes but those weren't that special, just potatoes without any seasoning. A little confusing when we came in too. No one greeted us, wasn't sure if we had to wait to be seated or just find a seat. Stood there for a little before I went near the kitchen area to ask someone what we need to do. Once we sat the server was nice. Staff was very nice and courteous Overall we spent close to $30 for something that is just not worth it. Easier, cheaper, and tastier to just eat at home. read more

What a disappointment! I've eaten at the airport location a few years back and it was awesome, the portions were big the food was hot. It was great Today my wife and I went to the Arrowhead location for the first time and we were very disappointed. My wife ordered the special: biscuits and gravy and the biscuits tasted old and dry, not very fresh being the Tuesday special.The sausage gravy was lukewarm at best and the hashbrowns were very unappealing looking, they were brown from sitting out. They tasted fine, but not very appetizing looking. I ordered the hog and chick breakfast, I ordered the eggs over easy and one of the yolks was broken and my hashbrowns looked very unappealing, they too were brown from sitting out. I had some sourdough toast with the house jam, which was strawberry, but it too looked very unappealing. It tasted great, but it looked nothing like jam. also, we both ordered coffee and tea and it was ridiculously priced at close to four dollars each. I also had to ask for a coffee spoon and got a tablespoon from the server to stir my coffee. I'm afraid we won't be returning soon. read more

I found Matt's by accident. I was on my way to my dentist and I saw the sign at 75th Avenue and Loop 101. After my appointment I came back and decided to try it. It was a clean place. I ordered the breakfast burrito. EXCELLANT and lots of it too. Service was great. The servers were friendly and the coffee was great (except no flavored creamer). We ate at Matt's Big Breakfast last weekend and had an OK experience, but we had some reservations, especially with the pedigree of their reputation. First, they only offer peppered bacon, no other bacon option, so if you are opposed to spice and want bacon you are out of luck. And they don't let you know that, had we not ordered the bacon bloody Mary's we would have ordered multiple items that included bacon and been unable to eat them. Again our issue was that they don't let you know about the peppered bacon, although we found it strange that a breakfast place doesn't offer traditional bacon. Although I'm not a huge breakfast fan but we spotted the restaurant while on 75th Ave. It was about 11 a.m. The inside was packed with customers and loud. We sat out on the patio. It was partially shaded. I sat on the sunny side but it got too hot, so we tried to open one of the umbrellas but it was broken. So We sat facing a broken umbrella and dead plants. You know if you want to decorate with plants you have to water them to keep them alive! I ordered the short stack which is two large pancakes. A cup of decaf. The pancakes aren't fluffy and tastes more like a cornmeal mix. The maple syrup helped. The coffee was extremely bitter. My husband had the Chic and Hog. Which consisted of scrambled eggs, more like a flat omelette, peppered bacon, fried potatoes sprinkled with thyme. I found the potatoes to be "mushy" once in my mouth and way too much of a thyme flavor. It came with choice of bread, he asked for toasted rye and a berry jam. It did not look appealing to me but my husband, (who doesn't know how to cook) thought it was good. So would I return? No. The waitress,Lexi was excellent. read more

This was one of the worst breakfasts I've had in a restaurant. First, their menu options are extremely limited. 2nd, they don't have normal coffee creamer or flavored coffee creamer. Also no regular sugar for coffee. These things don't bug me because I don't drink coffee but they do bug my husband so I'm including them. I got the hog and chick breakfast. Gave my husband the eggs because I don't eat them. The "thick cut bacon" from the menu is indeed thick cut but it is absolutely COATED in pepper. I wasn't able to eat it at all. Even my husband didn't eat all of his bacon and that's saying something. There was no way to remove the pepper and it was all over the bacon. I got the home fries. They are cooked with some kind of herb and all I could taste was the herbs. Couldn't taste the potatoes at all. Plus they had a weird texture. The only thing I was able to eat was the one slice of sourdough toast and it was not worth the $12.69 cost of the breakfast. I would definitely recommend bypassing this place if you want a good breakfast. Unless of course you'd rather taste pepper than bacon when you're eating bacon. read more

I usually refrain from writing reviews, but I couldn't walk away from this place. I had their Blueberry Griddlecakes with Hashbrowns and the Chocolate Organic Milk. These griddlecakes were the best I have ever feasted upon in my long life. I will dream about these blueberries. Everything was not too sweet, which I appreciated. Everything instead, was flavorful, fresh, and hearty. The service was amazing, we were greeted with smiles and a round of waters. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, always checking in on us/helpful. The ambiance was peaceful and comforting, homey vibe. The wall mural is beautifully captivating. Great music playlist too! My dad is an eggs benedict connoisseur and the Eggs Benedict was the best he ever had. My brother is notorious for never finishing his plate, but here he did. The bacon was an all-time favorite. My mom is pretty picky, but she loved the coffee and creamer. My family was ready for a nap with our beyond satisfied, filled bellies. Will be back soon :) read more

This review is only for the pancakes. They are 5 star and do not need syrup. Butter only -- they are seriously delicious. The bacon was thick, peppery, not crispy -- I used the maple syrup on the bacon. If you are a pancake expert, skip the syrup and order double butter. Very happy we stopped at this place. Well I'm not impressed! Service was great but the food was mediocre. My husband's over easy eggs had broken yolks, although the jam they served was tasty it's appearance left you questioning what it was. We both ordered the hash browns and talk about unappetizing, these potatoes obviously had been sitting out after being shredded and of course they browned making for very nasty looking potatoes. I ordered the special which was biscuits and gravy with eggs. My eggs were just on the edge of being cold, I've made better biscuits using Bisquick while camping and the gravy really was lacking flavor. All in all we won't be back. read more

Was excited to try this place. Came in (with a party of 4) at 1:25. The hostess said they were "open for ONLY 30 more minutes" (stressing the ONLY) and that they "already cleaned up". To be fair, if I had just seen that myself I wouldn't have stayed but to basically be told that she didn't want to seat us as soon as I opened the door was really rude. If they don't want to seat anyone after a specific time, just post that with the hours. Definitely shouldn't tell customers that they "already cleaned up." Won't be back. read more

I like good old fashioned breakfast places, and this is a nice bright and clean modern take on that theme. Been back twice, but honestly not sure if this is my place for breakfast. Although I enjoyed the coffee, eggs and potatoes and hotcakes, I m not a big fan of the preparation of the proteins I've ordered there. The bacon texture was a little rubbery, and extremely peppery. Tried the sausage pattie's next time, they were also too peppery. I'm definitely not scared of spices in my foods, but, imo, bacon is already a perfect food, doesn't need that much spice manipulation and should be meaty and crispy. That said, I'm pretty set on what I like for breakfast, so maybe have to try the lunch menu, the lunch dishes looked good from what i saw, and the place is popular, there are waitlists in the later morning when I went, although we were seated promptly. Was surprised that it wasn't more crowded when we arrived on Sunday morning around 9 but by time we left it was getting full. Service was good- all the staff seem to work together to serve the customers needs. Food was tasty! I had avocado toast with a poached egg. The bread was yummy and the avocado and tomatoes actually had flavor! Husband got one of the daily specials-pumpkin griddle cakes. It was a big serving and they were delicious!
