Teriyaki Shrimp Wrap was delicious! The teriyaki was a nice flavor with the lettuce. A little drippy but goooood! Very refreshing on a hot day. I paired it with sweet potato fries and enjoyed it tremendously. Daughter said her Caprice Focaccia was good. Hubby enjoyed his turkey wrap. It was packed full. Staff was super sweet. Went here last Saturday honestly only because we had won a $50 gift card. While it is technically on the river walk, the view is of a parking lot with no water in sight. Service was fine and we had no trouble making last minute reservations at 6 pm on a Saturday night. There was ample free parking. We were in time for happy hour and my seabreeze was good. Husband liked his Diet Pepsi and captain Morgan. Got the shrimp Rangoon app and it was yummy but very saucy. 5 large shrimp which tasted fresh. It was downhill from there for me. My firecracker chicken sandwich was a dud- almost tasteless with more bun than chicken. Sweet potato fries were good. Husbands burger was fine and his fries were good as well. We had a reservation for 4 to sit in the music side for dinner at 6 pm. We waited at our table about 10 to 15 minutes before the waiter came to the table. He took our drink order and proceeded to bring it to the table next to us. He finally figured out they belonged to us. He had forgotten one of the drinks and asked us again what was the 4th drink. When he came back with that drink and ice water on the tray, he set them on the table and hit me in the head with his tray. Clueless he didn't even apologize. He took our order and when the food came the filet mignon that one of us ordered never came. The waiter was not the one to bring the food. He never came back and we had to get up and walk to the bar to tell another server that we were missing an entree. They said they would put the order in and bring it out. The steak finally came (brought out by the manager or someone else) and said they would "take care of it". It was prepared close to rare when ordered as medium. That server never came back to our table the entire time except to bring the bill. This was the worst dining service I've had in years. As first timers to the restaurant we won't return or recommend it. That server is in the wrong profession. The food was also Luke warm when it arrived. Overall, a terrible dining experience for $150 even after the steak was removed from the bill. Do not recommend. read more

We went here for our first Thanksgiving out dinner. We were not disappointed! I'm used to all the cooking and food prep. This year we moved and had no kitchen (hurricane stuff). The traditional Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. The truffle mashed potatoes were nothing short of a taste sensation! I seriously enjoyed each and every bite. We did call fat enough in advance for reservations but it was well worth the cost. I believe we paid $39 for the dinner without dessert/drinks. We would do it again but for now I'm looking forward to this year cooking my own. Mattison's is a family go to restaurant with our vegetarians enjoying their regular menu as well. We randomly stopped here on our way to the Bradenton Riverwalk. It wasn't cold out, mid-70s but the restaurant was outdoors under an awning so that temperature with the wind was a little chilly. Nothing to do with the restaurant or service, just an observation of the day. Our waitress was very prompt, friendly, and informative. I wound up with the crispy chicken sandwich and fries, which was good. I was torn between that and the gumbo. In hindsight I should have gone for the gumbo as I try to go the healthier route and I could also get a chicken sandwich pretty much anywhere. read more

Food was disappointing to me; my guests had better experiences. My salmon was basically bland, small and disappointing over a bed of greens that had too much texture. Excellent service... tasty fare... tuna tartar, gumbo, fish sandwich, glazed salmon entree, coleslaw with a touch of cranberry. For our tastes, the tuna tartar would be much better with smaller diced pieces of tuna and the avocado more 'present'... Overall, the tuna tartar had a wonderful flavor including the little spicy (spiral, tiny rice noodles?)​ that added to each bite. The salmon entrée was tasty though the piece of salmon was quite small for the dish size and presentation. The gumbo was good, but seemed more like an etouffe' and less like a gumbo soup. For us, as to the Gumbo... we'd prefer no tails on the shrimp (makes for messy eating as this is a gumbo/soup) and each fish piece was too large to fit in ones' mouth; nicer, too, if the scallops were rinsed a bit better before adding to the gumbo. We were lead in to what seemed like an old storage area that was changed into inside dining Which we shortly learned that's what it was. It was completely outdoors but they renovated part of it and added about half a dozen tables. It was an echoey area but it was cool and our server was super friendly. We ordered a couple tropical drinks and after waiting quite a while our waitress ce back an apologized stating the drinks were taking longer than expected. The service was slow. We sat there for 15minutes before someone came over to ask as for drinks. Another ten minutes fir the drinks. We had to ask where our server was. Bingo then we got drinks. She took our orders. That was slow too. Then my salad I added chicken, no chicken. I canceled the chicken and just had the salad. The place was usually quiet. The past couple of times I have been to Mattison's I've been there with a group of 5 and then a group of 8. Morgan took GREAT care of us. Both nights it was very busy since there was live music. She was right on top of everything - filling our water glasses and getting us additional drinks. All of us enjoyed our meals. Last month I was there with a group of 15 people and we had Crystal for our server. She took GREAT care of us as well. We were seated around 6:15, but didn't receive our entrees until 7:40. The staff was nice, but very slow...and the kitchen was even slower. The table next to us sent their food back because it was cold. They had arrived shortly after us and waited about the same amount of time for food. We ate quickly and had to flag down the server for our check. The food was good, but not worth the wait. I had the spicy tuna roll as an appetizer, and had to ask for chop sticks and soy sauce, and even then, the server hurried away before I could ask for a cup to put the soy sauce in. I also tried the shrimp Rangoon and it was not at all what I was expecting, but it was really good. We took some friends to this place on a cold and rainy Saturday night. The service was very slow even though we liked the waitress. I wasn't impressed with my food which was not warm enough. We were cold because it was an outside seating place. So we asked for a heater that we are sure they had a few. Even though we asked for one three itimes we never had it. This was a very up and down experience. They had a special menu and a drink menu that were not provided to us when we were seated. Service was also on the slow side but everyone was polite and responsive when they did come by. The food is just average and not for an average price. We've eaten at this place a couple of times and it doesn't disappoint. Super convenient to the Marriott Courtyard we are staying at while our condo renovation is underway. I've had sushi, pizza, steak and chicken dishes at this place. All were 4 star. The service is great, it has a full bar and a couple of TVs around the bar. It is ONLY outdoor seating but it's covered, they have fans or heaters depending on the season. They have music entertainment most weekends and the bands are good.
