We were not happy at all, the mattresses kept sliding apart. We called and told them that we wanted the original, king mattress we had picked out. They said sorry it can't be fixed. After complaining online they agreed to fix it. We kept the bases and they took the twin mattresses back. Then when we got the replacement, we realized that they had simply glued the two twins together. Now there's a raised hard lump down the middle. I bought what I thought was one of the best mattresses in the store, a Tempur-pedic. My purchase total with the mattress, bed frame, etc was over $4000, $3k of it being the mattress. I wanted to ensure I got a really good mattress because for me sleep is so important to overall health and wellness. The mattress was delivered in a timely manner, a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, the mattress was not what I expected. Since night 1, the whole experience has been a nightmare. One could imagine my disappointment since I spent such a large amount of money thinking I would have a wonderful experience with this trusting brand. Sleeping on this mattress was and has been miserable. My back has been killing me on a nightly basis. Turns out it isn't for me and I guess my style of sleep. I am not entirely sure why it doesn't work, it just doesn't. I have never had back problems in my life, and instead of being a cure like the brand says, it was my cause. I have a very busy work schedule, so I was finally able to go back into the store and spoke to another salesman about the situation. Kitty was not available at that time. I tried out other mattresses and picked one that I thought would be better, much firmer. When I spoke to that salesman about my situation, he said he was very surprised to hear about my experience because Tempur-pedic "is the best and usually cures back problems". Kitty said a very similar thing to me when I spoke to her days later. I felt like I had to explain myself, like they did not believe me or validate my concerns and current physical state. The exchange was processed. I asked Kitty for any help offered in waiving the fees given the situation, that I was in physical pain and just not functioning well due to having poor sleep. Kitty said there was nothing she could do and the fine print was enforced - I had to pay a $250 restocking fee and a $99.99 delivery fee in order for this to be processed. I was told that the new mattress would come and they would pick the old mattress up in two weeks. Cut to today, in which my new mattress is still not here and it has been explained to me that it will not arrive until about 5-6 weeks from my exchange date. In addition, it may take longer because the manufacturers are having a difficult time with production due to the pandemic. Conversations with Kitty the manager since I have asked for my exchange have not been pleasant. I have been extremely dissatisfied with the entire process which has only been worse due to her negative tone and attitude. While I understand her own frustration with her job at the moment given the Covid impact, this should not impact the relationship with the customer. I have left these conversations feeling like she does not care about my situation, like I am wrong in some way, and to her it doesn't matter that I am in pain. Every single day I wake up. Kitty said I would not find another store around that will get a mattress delivered to me due to this being a nationwide issue. Well it turns out I found a local company who could deliver me one of their mattresses in one week. One week!! And I could actually sleep without pain. The only problem is I have to pay Mattress Firm $600 for cancelling. Restocking fee + a delivery fee for them to pick this thing up. So I have to pay hundreds of dollars for a new back problem and poor customer service? Seems absurd. I understand that I bought something with a risk and a return policy. However, we are in a pandemic and there are supply issues that are contributing to customer dissatisfaction. I feel these additional fees are unreasonable and excessive in the current times that we live in, with unemployment and an unstable economy. I don't know what to do. And I wish I never walked in that store in the first place.

I had mentioned this to Zac (Sales associate) he directed me to the right mattress apparently; I experienced one of the best night's sleeps I had in a long while (no pain in my shoulder). The price was very reasonable also. It should be of note that there was no pressure from Zac to make a purchase. When the delivery men showed up, they were extremely nice and professional, they removed old mattress and box spring and replaced it with new mattress and foundation in less than 20 minutes and extremely careful not to scrape my walls while ascending up a narrow staircase! This company makes all of their mattresses here (not massed produced). It was nice dealing with a local company that has a great product and is totally AMERICAN MADE! The salesman was so kind, and when we initially thought we were going to leave and take a while to think about it, he was not pushy at all but instead gave us a price quote offering a small discount. We are pretty independent shoppers, just going by what we like and feel, but we had some questions about the types of foam and he explained the differences in a straightforward way. From his calm approach to the sales process, we decided to stay a little longer and lay on a few more beds -- sure enough, we found the perfect one. I honestly am blown away by such a pleasant shopping experience. I liken mattress shopping to used car shopping: slimy and yucky, but not here. We left with a full bed set: pillows, mattress cover, mattress, and box spring for less than the crappy "bed in a box" that we were actually thinking about getting, just to keep the price down.
