Another shout-out for Mary Jane, who also provided us with excellent service when we purchased a new mattress set for our son. She was patient and helpful using a consultative selling approach. She didn't overwhelm us with too many options. Our mattress set was on indefinite backorder but then we were pleasantly surprised when it was available a few weeks later. Mattress Firm was flexible when we then needed to postpone our delivery a week. Their system kept us updated about delivery with texts, voicemails and emails. Don't be fooled by 120 day trial advertisements. They made returning pretty much a non-option unless you are ok with losing out on a lot of money. Well, this review is more about the company rather than this particular store, but whatever (the store employee was great - nothing against her) Absolutely do not purchase any mattress that have good return policy on their own from Mattress Firm, because whatever advertised on the brand's website likely does not apply, and you're stuck with Mattress Firm's shitty policy instead. Actually don't buy from them, period. You can probably order online whatever is comparable. You receive a faulty mattress, and need a warranty replacement less than a month after your purchase? Sure, they will replace it - just pay the delivery fee again! You will be out $100 for receiving a faulty merchandise, having to go through the hassle of replacement, and your back hurting from sleeping on slanting mattress! Oh, you want to return your faulty merchandise for a refund? Too bad, it's considered a regular return, and you'd pay 20% restocking fee (how kind of them to cap it at $500), and they will give you a BS reason that it's because mattresses have to go through inspection and sanitation at the warehouse even if it's not being resold (so $600 mattress and $8000 mattress have that much difference in inspection and sanitation costs, huh?). Oh, don't forget that they will take out all the "discounts" they gave you (that only existed because their price was inflated compared to the brand's own website) on your non-returnable bed frames and accessories, so you will only really get half of your money back for your mattresses (or even less depending on the mattress price tag). Yup, they really really tried to make returning a non-option and they clearly succeeded! Yup, all my fault for not reading every single fine prints, which are only provided after you are serious about purchasing and go through a bunch of paperwork first, btw. I was just trying to support a local store front (I wasn't saving a dime from purchasing there). Never again! You set up an exchange and they act like they are doing you a favor when waiving a fee (not all fees, and only after your lengthy exchange to argue that you are only doing it because of the warranty exchange need, and you lost trust on the brand you originally purchased) even though you are about to drop a lot more $$ to get one of the most expensive mattresses they have. Which I am only considering because they made the return cost-prohibitive, even for a faulty mattress. read more

Great Service I want to give thanks to Maryjane at the Mattress Firm's El Camino store. Her service is simply great. It is very hard for me to decide which bed to buy. There are a lot of considerations. MJ is very professional and knowledgeable about all beds. She is very patient and she never pushed me. She ask me to take my time and to lay down and feel the differences of the beds. She helped me to make an decision on purchasing the bed. This is one of the smaller stores, but the service is great. I ordered a new bed about month ago before my move to Oregon. I bought a king size bed and they added in an adjustable base. I wanted to be able to use a standard headboard with this base. I was assured that I could, I just needed to purchase an addition set of brackets that attach to the base and allow the headboard to fit. Once the mattress was delivered however, I quickly realized that they sent me the wrong bracket. Well it's been over a month now and I STILL DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT BRACKET!! I have talked to 2 district managers, called the store a dozen times and have spoken with the manufacturer of the bed base itself. Magically, no one can help me!! One of the district managers did offer me a refund for the incorrect bracket and the premium set delivery fee I was charged, and that has yet to be processed on my account as well. I understand that mistakes happen, but this is a bad sign that a company CANNOT seem to fix the problem. If it wasn't past the return trial period of 30 days, I would just return the whole bed and base and go with another company that is able to actually sell to their customers what they need and take care of the problem. awful experience. UPDATE: just spoke with the customer service rep from Bedtech the manufacturer for the base and they were confused because they claim that Mattress Firm should be able to sell me and ship out this item. Kelly Roman was the perfect salesperson for my wife and I. He was knowledgeable on the mattress types and was not pushy, at all. He asked us lots of questions as he filled out an assessment then directed us to a few mattresses he felt fit what we were looking for. He allowed us time to try them out then proceeded to provide excellent customer service at the time of purchase. The showroom wasn't busy, it was very clean and inviting. The one thing I wish he had explained was that a King would've been better for us than a Cal-King. We asked for a Cal-King but we're short and stout. A wider, not longer, bed (we've been on a queen for quite some time) would've been better for us. We have a non-returnable adjustable base so we're really stuck with the size we bought. This is the worse company I've ever dealt with. It's been a nightmare. Please do not specifically shop at this store located on El Camino Real Sunnyvale, California. Here's what ensued I went in to purchase a mattress two months ago. There was only one employee working the whole store. He couldn't answer phone calls due to he was helping me. That should have been a red flag. I bought a mattress and box spring. He gave me a delivery date I told him I would not be home due to a doctor's appointment. He told me to let the delivery people know when they call. Well they never called. So I tried calling Jose the next day and each time he would put me on hold and not even converse with me he would hang up on me. Finally I left voicemails. He returned my call at the end of the work day. Said that the delivery date can be changed. Well it wasn't. They delivered when I wasn't home and my husband didn't know the protocol that I could return the box spring if it made the bed sit up to high. The delivery people picked up the box spring on the same day it was delivered it never was used. I spoke with the district manager and she was kind and said I'd get a refund being this whole ordeal wasn't my fault but the fault of my salesperson who should have changed the delivery date. Two months later I still haven't got a refund. Went through my credit card to dispute the issue to no avail. So it looks like I'll have to chalk it up to doing business with a company who doesn't value not only the customer but their employees as well. How can one person operate a huge store by themselves. Do not shop at this store. The store manager promised me a refund I have yet to see. They will also ghost you in trying to communicate with them. read more

The sales person was very helpful, guiding us through first figuring out what firmness we liked, then the type of tops and other features we liked. From their he was able to show us a variety of options to try. We came in on a Saturday morning, with two small children in tow looking for a mattress for our guest bedroom and wanting to stay within a pretty minimal budget. We worked with the store manager, Trevor I believe, and he was outstanding. He showed us quite a few different options within our price point and quickly went over the pros and cons of each. He didn't bat an eye when our older child wanted to test out all the beds, and they even have a small Lego table for kids to play at while you are checking out. We got in and out in less than half an hour with a mattress that should be a great fit for us. And if not the return policy is amazing and thanks to the time Trevor took with us we already know exactly which one we would exchange it for.
