We ended up buying their in-house brand, which feels comfortably soft but still supportive. When my husband moves, my side doesn't turn into a slope (great partner isolation!). What I loved most about the experience was just how low-key it felt: Stepping into most other mattress stores sometimes feels like being thrown to the sharks at a car dealership, but Sev was politely present as we rolled around on a variety of different beds, giving us just enough space to discuss what we liked or didn't like but making it clear that he was available to us if we had any questions, which we frequently did. We ended up staying for about an hour just testing out a bunch of different mattresses and ultimately what sold us the combination of finding a really great bed and realizing that the owners truly believe in giving you the best experience possible. When Sev gave us quotes for each of the three mattresses we were considering, we were really surprised by how competitive they were and how generous the return policy was as well. He even threw in a pillow that we had been eyeing for free! You can tell these guys are really committed to the customer experience and aren't worried about upcharging you for your mattress, which happens frequently elsewhere and results in stressful bargaining. Their "Beat Anyone's Advertised Price" Guarantee Is Full of Loopholes…read more I contacted Sit 'n Sleep about purchasing a queen-size Nectar Premier Hybrid mattress. Sit 'n Sleep repeatedly advertises that they will beat anyone's advertised price or your mattress is free. That sounds like a straightforward promise, and it was one of the main reasons I gave them the opportunity to earn my business. I presented two substantially lower advertised prices for the same mattress. Best Buy Furniture listed the queen Nectar Premier Hybrid for $929, with an additional 5% discount using code BESTBUY5, bringing the price down to approximately $882.55 before tax. Best Buy Furniture also identifies itself as an authorized Nectar retailer. I then found an even lower advertisement from Mattress Store San Diego for a queen Nectar Premier Hybrid at $788. The listing identified the mattress by name, size and hybrid construction and stated that it was available for local San Diego delivery. As soon as the Sit 'n Sleep representative heard the $788 price, they quickly refused to match it. I was told that the competitor was outside their "approved dealer" list. There seemed to be no serious attempt to verify whether the mattress was new, in stock or otherwise identical. The advertised price was apparently disqualified simply because Sit 'n Sleep did not consider the retailer an approved competitor. That is a major restriction that isn't emphasized nearly as prominently as the company's bold promise. "We'll beat anyone's advertised price" apparently doesn't mean anyone it means only the selected retailers, locations and advertisements that Sit 'n Sleep chooses to recognize. If the company can exclude a competitor whenever the price is too difficult to beat, the guarantee offers customers very little meaningful protection. I understand reasonable requirements, such as confirming the same model, size, condition and availability. However, if the guarantee only applies to certain authorized competitors, geographic areas, warranty arrangements or other undisclosed conditions, Sit 'n Sleep should state those restrictions just as clearly and prominently as "beat anyone's advertised price or your mattress is free." I was ready to purchase this mattress from Sit 'n Sleep if they honored the promise used to advertise their business. Instead, the experience made the guarantee feel like a marketing slogan filled with convenient loopholes. Customers should ask for every condition in writing before believing or relying on this advertisement. I left disappointed and with considerably less trust in the company.

I mattress shopped for five months. Yup! FIVE months. The first month I went around testing out mattresses and doing research online. Once I zeroed in on what I wanted I called around to about 20 regional stores seeking the best price. Mattress King's price couldn't be beat. Literally. No one would touch it. Everyone told me to go with it. One of the LA chain stores tried to come close but their offer was suspect. So on price alone, MK had me. When I went in to purchase the bed an unexpected thing happened. They suggested I try out one last mattress by a lesser known company that they said was fantastic and would cost me less money. I tried it out and loved it. But I also loved my first choice... The next 4 months were spent going back to Mattress King and hanging out on the two mattresses. Would it be the Chattam and Wells - Revere mattress or the lesser known Leader - Royale? I couldn't decide. I loved things about both of them. I even got to a point where I was considering buying two twin sized beds (one of each) and putting them together so that I'd get the best of both worlds. During this time of indecision, I got to know Joe pretty well. We would chat while I went back and forth lying on the two mattresses for about an hour each visit. While lying there I would listen to him with other customers. He was a straight up honest salesmen with everybody. When folks would decide on a bed right then and there (I was seriously jealous that I lacked this ability) Joe gave them one hell of a deal. Often it seemed like the price was set and he'd end up giving them a better deal than they had settled on. I would lay there happy beyond belief to know that there are still good sales folks out there who in the course of making some profit on the sale, refused to make too much profit which he easily could have. Joe's a good guy. (I also met the Mattress King himself, Joel, he's a character for sure but in the best of ways. Sam(antha) left shortly after my first month. She was great too. I only met her replacement once, but from the sound of it I think they brought in another genuine and kind salesman.) I think I prolonged my decision making because I enjoyed hanging out at Mattress King. I'm going to miss going back. I might just have to stop by every once in a while to say hi and rest on a mattress. If you're looking for the best deal from good folks, Mattress King is the only place you need to go. Of course I would call around first and learn what's the lowest price on the market for the particular bed I want. But having done that, I'd go to Mattress King. What mattress did I go with? Chattam and Wells - Revere. It's an expensive mattress but Mattress King made it affordable. And at the end of the day I had to accept that offer over the less expensive but only slightly less comfortable (to me) option. Chattam's quality and reputation are that good. And the bed is ridiculously comfortable (to me.) And it'll last 10-15 years or longer. And yes, Joe ended up throwing in a last minute savings that I didn't see coming. It was nothing short of one of the best buying experiences I've ever had. Thank you to Joe and the departed Sam! I will definitely stop in to say hi from time to time and get some rest while I'm there. read more

I just moved to Los Angeles from NYC about two and a half weeks ago, and quickly found myself in need of a bed. The wood floors in my new apartment were about as comfortable as one might expect. So I started doing research and comparing offers from various mattress stores. I am on a tight budget at the moment, but I figured a bed is something that I cannot go without. I went to several mattress stores throughout Los Angeles and Santa Monica- the sales people were all nice and seemingly helpful, but I was still not sold on any one store or a particular mattress. Then I went into Mattress King and was helped by Penny, the floor manager- within moments she had blown the competition out of the water, but coming from NY I tried to remain skeptical. Soon I saw my skepticism was in vain. I told her my budget, and then she asked what sort of bed I was interested in (on a scale of firmness preference). Then she asked how I normally sleep- on my side, back or stomach. She explained to me how everyone should acknowledge their fave sleep position when choosing a mattress, because different mattresses compliment different sleeping habits. It seemed she was just as determined as me to find a bed perfectly suited for me... after trying several mattresses, all which I liked better than the last, she introduced me to the organic cotton mattress, and I fell in love with it. Of course, it was out of my budget, but she was willing to work with me to figure out a plan & price that would work for me. So I got the bed- she was able to have it delivered the next day and actually asked me when I was available... the next day she called to follow-up and make sure I was still available. The delivery guys were great and right on time, and I couldn't be happier. It's one of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on, and Penny and the delivery team could not have been more helpful and accomodating. If you're looking for a great mattress and great service at an affordable price, go to mattress king and ask for Penny. read more

Where do I begin? Joe and his team are, in a word, excellent! After we moved into our new home, I went out to LA to visit a friend to go mattress shopping and that is when I was introduced to Mattress King. As luck would have it, I tried out a couple of mattresses while my friend shopped and remembered my favorite. Shortly after returning home, I was having trouble getting a good night's sleep and found that my mattress of 20 years was ready to retire. We visited a number of local shops to try and find a good fit, and had no luck. I then thought of how my friend in LA had such a positive experience with Mattress King: excellent customer service, thorough product knowledge, affordable prices, and the honesty/character of Joe and his team was beyond reproach. I also remembered the mattress I liked, and was disappointed to find that none of my local stores carried the model. I should have called Mattress King first. I just wasn't sure if they could help me as I live in Northern Wisconsin, approximately 2,200 miles away. I couldn't have been more wrong! Joe gave me excellent recommendations based on my bed frame and my physical needs (bad back); it turns out, the mattress I liked would fit my frame perfectly, and Joe still had it in stock. Joe assured me that my location would not matter and that they would provide the same level of service no matter my ZIP code. My new mattress arrived as anticipated and we couldn't be happier! For years, my wife and I have been sleeping on an extremely old cal king mattress that was passed down to us from my parents several years ago. Both of us experienced back pain for months because of the deep draw to the center of the mattress. A good friend of mine had recently purchased a mattress from Mattress King and told me to come here to get one and I'm really happy I did because our new mattress is amazing! I purchased my new mattress about 5 or 6 weeks ago and now my back pain is completely gone. My wife says that her pain is subsiding as well. The best part of it all was the shockingly low price I paid for the whole set. I always thought that one had to pay thousands of dollars for ultra high quality, but the Mattress King truly have the best prices, like my friend initially said. Overall, my experience at Mattress King was an A++. I was delivered the mattress and box right at the time that it was scheduled and the guys were quick and efficient with the setup. First thing's first...Joe! My husband and I walked in and met Joe who was entirely warm and candid right off the bat, so we felt comfortable within the first minute (which was important as we were not interested in dealing with any of the needy salespeople we had heard about in the mattress world). Needless to say, Joe had every bit of information we could AND DID ask for. The process of selecting the mattress was simple with Joe and didn't take us long to decide since we had proper guidance. Second, THE PRICE! The prices offered (and there was a sale on this holiday weekend), we unbeatable truly. The price gouge from mainstream mattress retailers is absolutely awful. In short, we did not get over charged, period. Last, the quality. Joe went over each mattress, their materials and reasons for the specific materials and construction. Couple this with the most reasonable cost I have heard of (amongst my peer group), and we were so pleased after we left the store. Needless to say we are so comfy on our mattress, so happy. My girlfriend and I bought a new bed last week from the Mattress King. AND WOW! What a great experience! Joe took the time to go over all of our options (based on our comfort level and budget). My girlfriend is a side sleeper and prefers the soft pillow top. But I'm a stomach sleeper and I like my mattress a bit firmer. We figured a plush mattress would do the trick. Then Joe got creative and showed us this great FIRM PILLOW TOP mattress (I had no idea there was such a thing), and it fit both our comfort levels perfectly. In addition to finding the perfect bed, Joe gave us a helluva deal. Working with Joe was a delight. His customer service, patience and knowledge was above and beyond what we expected. I'm glad I went to the Mattress King! Joe spent a lot of time with us going over all the options that matched our budget and comfort level. I didn't feel like he was constantly trying to "get" the sale. When asked about the return policy Joe mentioned it is also listed on the store's website. Although all sales are final they offer a "30 day comfort exchange" - meaning we could exchange it for a new mattress of equal or greater value after 30 days. These guys are honest, upftont and knowledgable. They have a great selection and prices no one can beat! They are local and support their community. What's not to like? We went in Memorial Day weekend (when every Mattress Store claims to be doing a crazy sale) Kelly had a king mattress in stock for us, exactly what we wanted and gave us the best deal we could find anywhere. The customer service series is un parallel. And the cherry on top is, they also have the best prices they either price match or they're below any other mattress corporation. I've already gotten to bed for my grandma myself and my son is next. When you leave, you feel confident that you got the best deal the best service. (Some brands, like 'futon beds from Japan' claim they are 100 % high quality cotton but instead it contains polyester fiber, as stated on the label. The woman that helped me was wearing glasses and I forgot her name. Actually, I never got her name. I previously bought purple pillows like the original, kids variant, harmony and just recently here the Freeform. There was a dream layer, cloud and travel harmony which I did not buy. The dream layer of this selection was the only other one that was decent to lie my head on. It is basically like the original purple one but slightly cheaper. The pillows are incredibly high end for any normal person. The harmony, Freeform and dream layer are above $200 each which is sky high for a pillow, but the pillows are significantly better than 99% of pillows I ever tried and probably compared to every other pillow. The harmony one claims it's the best pillow ever but it's not. They're lying, it is a great pillow nonetheless. The original pillow is even more pricier approaching $300! The mattresses here are top quality but durability and reliability are not great. Good for sex though as opposed to my tempur pedic luxe adapt soft. The seat cushions however were another story, each of those are $100-150 given any of the four choices. I got the double purple one. I got it in a bundle for 200$ that came with a back cushion. I also bought $34 pillow covers which were comfortable but not as comfy as the outer portion of my Freeform and harmony. I have to get two more when I get the dream layer and one for my original. The kids one sucks btw. It was bunched up in the mail, highly do not recommend. One aspect of the material is that they keep you comfortable and cool to the skin when touched. Is it worth the price tag? I don't know, it is comfy and high quality, but the price tag is high. Luxury level high.

We were honored to be treated so well and highly recommend Hasten's to all of our friends and family (my sister also purchased her Hasten's bed from Kristofer and is thrilled). From the beginning Kristofer took his time in helping me understand the Hasten's brand and the extrordinary sleep experience that is truely like no other. It is vitally important to my husband and I that we choose a bed that is clean of all toxic unatural materials, Hasten's is that bed. Additionally the bed must hold it's shape and comfort over time, and again that is the Hasten's. Then with Kristofer's assistance I tried all Hasten's models in the showroom and ultimately chose the 2000T. Kristofer never rushed me to make a decision and was available to take my calls with questions over the course of time that it took for me to arrive at my final decision. He took care of setting up the delivery and arranged the schedule to fit our needs. The white glove delivery and set up crew were top notch and went out of their way to assure we were satisfied. They even had a customer service person on site with the crew to make sure any questions I might have were answered to my satisfaction before they departed. Kristofer still follows up with me to make sure we are happy with our Hasten's purchase and I am happy to say we wouldn't change a thing! We have now had our bed for four weeks and are still thrilled to say it is like sleeping on a cloud.
