Marty G's is nestled in a nice strip mall across from Luxe theaters. When you walk in, you're met with a nice rustic bar vibe and a "seat yourself" sign. It's a nice sports bar theme, but also welcoming and cozy. Once we sat down, a server came over immediately with menus. It seemed like she was the only server though, which made me feel badly for her...she never stopped moving the entire time we were there with taking orders, serving, refilling drinks, taking payments, etc. We had a party of four - I ordered the "Hail Mary" (2 patties, onion rings, bbq sauce, bacon, American cheese and pickles), hubby had the double steak burger and my friends ordered "The Big Hurt" and "Bullet Work". Bonus points for having multiple fries options (regular, garlic, French fry dippers and sweet potato), but unfortunately for me, they were out of sweet potato. Food came out relatively quickly and everything looked pretty delicious. My burger was bigger than I expected, which I appreciated. The onion ring was the perfect size for the patty and the drizzle of BBQ sauce was enough to flavor the burger without drowning it. The only downside was that the bacon wasn't crispy enough and the cheese was barely melted. The patties had some nice, crispy edges and the bun was soft even though it was toasted. It might have been bumped up a notch with some mayo on the bun, an extra slice of cheese and lettuce, but overall, it was a nice, very filling, burger. The fries were perfectly seasoned, slightly battered and the fry sauce was a great compliment. Everyone finished their meals and raved about how much they liked their burgers. Due to the one server taking care of so many tables, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. Thankfully the water glasses were enormous and I luckily made it through dinner with just enough to drink. We would definitely visit again to check out all the great options on this menu! read more

Ehhhh... I have mixed feelings. I never shy away from a burger. In fact, it's my go to. Maybe 'smash burgers' aren't my thing. Sadly they taste too done. While everything was alright, I preferred the sides to the actual burger sadly. The meat was too crispy around the edges. We went twice in one week even but haven't been back since. Finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint. We went in for lunch and the menu is great. We ordered the chili cheese fries as an appetizer, and they were delicious. We got the triple crown burger, the Hail Mary, and the birdie-we also tried the regular fries, fry dippers and onion rings, and everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious. The place itself is super fun- lots of fun sports signs and fun signage in general. The service was good, very attentive at the start and came back to check on us a couple times after we got our food. We would most definitely go back and try other things on their big menu (they have tons of burgers, chicken, hot dogs, and even lobster rolls). For our first time here, I would rate 3.5 stars. We came with the idea that we were going to Zeeks and were surprised that it was now Matty G's. To be fair, we hadn't been to Zeeks in some time and understand it closed in November of last year. Our bad. Still, we decided to try it out. The inside is largely the same as when it was Zeeks--same tables and booths. They have more screens now, and some nice sports memorabilia, including jerseys representing DiMaggio, Starr, and Sammy Baugh. There seemed to be a lone young female server. She was nice and took good care of us but was quiet and not engaging. That was fine. There were maybe two other small parties in the restaurant. I ordered the Super Bowl buffalo chicken wrap. It does not come with a side and is $15. The tortilla was slightly charred and of good texture. The chicken was flavorful but I did not get enough of the buffalo sauce. The onions were chunky and I prefer more thinly sliced or diced smaller. Still, not a bad wrap. My wife got the hot dog and fries. The dog was not charred at all and my wife plans to ask that it be so if we come again. The fries are very good, seasoned and crispy. Like Zeeks, they have the bar and I imagine some good beer selections. I read another review where the person said that this would be a good place to come to watch a game. I would agree with that. I think we will probably come again. I would like to try the Lobster rolls and the burgers. read more

My husband and I both ordered burgers, and they were delicious! We tried the dipper fries and the sweet potato fries, both were so good we couldn't pick a favorite. Our waitress was fantastic, she was running the whole time we were there. That said, it was over an hour to get our food. The poor waitress needed back up for sure! My wife and I had a minute to grab lunch. We are skeptical i'm trying new places as the food in the treasure Valley is hit and miss. Let me tell you I ordered a classic burger with those pepper cheese and their steak cut fries. My Wife had the chicken sandwich grilled with a large Ortega chili. The service was friendly fast and the establishment is very clean. This food was amazing. The burger was delicious. They make a good burger here! Both my husband and I got the classic cheeseburger with fries. They had different options but we both just wanted to try their classic burger. The burger patty is flavorful and juicy it probably one of the better burgers in the valley. We came back a second time and got the same thing and wasn't disappointed. Also, their fries are amazing. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Holy smokes. First of all, inside is wonderful. Spacious with all the coolest sports memorabilia and TVs your eyes can see! Our server was sweet as can be and we met Matt, the owner, who was awesome!! Such a welcoming place. We started with fried pickles. They are spears and not the little slices, hot and super crunchy. I could have eaten 50 of them. My husband had the Field Of Dreams burger, and he took one bite, looked up at me and said "it's perfect." Perfect amount of spice/heat balanced with the burger. I had the Big Bears lobsta sammich, which I've been dreaming of all week, and it exceeded expectations. SO thrilled this place is here and we are already planning our next visit. Popped in and placed an order to go. Super cute place, loved the atmosphere and the service was great. She offered me a place at the bar to sit while waiting and gave me a water. Solid! I recently visited newly opened Matty G's, specifically to try their Lobster Roll which didn't disappoint. The roll was loaded with lobster salad, crab, blue crab and shrimp! It came with a choice of fries. The fries were fresh, hot and crisp. I added a side of onion rings and they didn't disappoint. In fact, they are the best onion rings I've had in a while! Matty G's has a nice selection of burgers, wraps, hot dogs, street food and salads, so there really is something for everyone! The restaurant is casual and offers beer, seltzers, wine and cocktails, with Happy Hour between 2-5. There are several televisions, so it's a great place to watch a game. The service was friendly, attentive and prompt. I'll definitely be heading back to Matty G's to try some of their other menu items, but it will be difficult not to order the Lobster Roll again. I highly recommend and support Matty G's. The restaurant has plenty of tv's to watch all kinds of sports, along with some real nice sports merchandise hanging on the walls. The menu has a ton of options between steak burgers, chili cheese fries, creative hotdogs, salads, and some good sounding dessert. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and got seated right away with a party of 7. The waitress was on top of her game with zero complaints. I enjoyed the triple crown cheese burger along with chili cheese fries. Great position size they definitely are not skimping anyone. My family and I will not be back to this place. Unfortunate, because we try to support local Eagle businesses. This will have been our 3rd try, but it will be our final visit. The service is mediocre at best, especially since the restaurant was not very busy. I know it's a casual restaurant, but the wait staff is just a bit too casual, and not trained in turning tables and being attentive to the customers in my opinion. Btw, our server was very nice. Additionally, on several occasions, we have asked for light seasoning on our burgers, as it seems, the seasoning shaker used at the grill is beyond liberal. Very salty burger patties. Sorry. For $17-$18 range for a burger and fries I could have gone to CRAVE across the way where I know what to expect in terms of quality of food and service. Sure, I know it's a much different dining experience, but the price points are similar in some instances. My server asked me to sign a crumpled merchant receipt. But I never received my copy of the receipt where I could add a tip. And lastly, a request to include a veterans discount was acknowledged, but the waitress never added it to the line item receipt, thus no discount.
