4/3/26- 5* Came here with 6 of us around 6:15, and it was packed! We fortunately got the last big table available. We saw a young couple get frustrated with how packed it was and left, but what do you expect on a Friday night, this isn't a fast food place. We stuck around and placed our order. Got lucky because they only do Fish Fry's on Fridays! Ordered the prawns and fish, got two order of buffalo wings, Mac and cheese, chipotle wrap, and kids burger. Fish was amazing!! Tasted Fresh! Not frozen! I was really not sure what to expect and faced my fears and ordered it. I can say it was some of the best fried fish I've had no lie. I was super pleased with it! Next time I'll try just the fish and chips in hopes that it comes with one more piece. The prawns were skinny ones and I wasn't too fond of them but the fish the main dish was perfect! Wife and bro-in law got an order of wings each and they were both super happy with them, I snagged 3 and would say top 5 wings I've had. Sister got the chipotle wrap and she said it was really good! Wife also got the mac n cheese with bacon and her and the kids loved it. Kids burger was able to split between two kids and they tore it up along with the mac n cheese! We had a great experience! Just be patient with staff and cooks, they get bogged down and you have to expect that or be ready to order fast when you're there. read more

We were ready to love this place. Nice patio, football, dog friendly, good food and close to our son's apt. We sat for 1/2 an hour being patient. She said she was busy with a 15 top. I went to the restroom and it didn't look that busy. I saw at least 4 waitresses. We asked for the check after 30 minutes and no one coming outside. Went back in and she admitted that she forgot while be seen playing aprons with the other waitresses. Will probably try again because of the location but I hope it goes better read more

I had a daily special, Rubin burger, combination hamburger, pastrami, slaw, cheese which was outstanding. It included a large portion of tasty fries. Wife chose the Cuba sandwich which she said was one best she has ever had. It came with a plentiful salad. Kemp, the bartender, provided excellent service. It looks like an excellent sports bar. We love going here with friends. Great sports bar environment, and family friendly. The tots are really good, especially with their garlic or sriracha seasoning. I highly recommend The Noble or their Turkey club. Cold beer and good cocktails. My only complaint is parking is tough, so we usually Uber or scooter here. read more

I was looking for a casual and quick bite to eat before a show at the Morisson Center. The Shed just happened to come up on Google Maps and I'm happy we found it. Parking is a nightmare. Plan to circle the block several times if you want to be close. Otherwise plan on parking and walking. When we walked in, 5:30-ish on a Thursday evening the bartender told us to sit wherever we wanted. There were two booths and a couple of other tables available. It took several minutes for anyone else to acknowledge us and bring us menus. When asked, the waitress didn't know what beers were on tap, but did have them all written down. That was helpful. Also seemed to have a good selection of "house" cocktails, which would be fun for happy hour or a game day. Vibe is definitely sports bar on a college campus, but the patrons were not college-aged. As others have commented, great overhead music. While we were there it was 70s classic rock. Now for the food - all great! Hubby gor the finger steaks, and while the breading looked very dark, he said they didn't taste burnt or overcooked. They came with BBQ sauce and an Asian-ish sweet-chili-horseradish sauce. Not cocktail sauce and very weird. I got The Grateful Shed burger with tots. It was delicious! Served on a brioche bun that could not stand up to the burger and how juicy it was. But that's what a fork is for. The candied bacon on it was so good. And the tots! Crispiest I've have in all of the treasure valley! It did take quite a while for the food to come out. I had a good view of the kitchen so I know it wasn't the wait staff. And its never good to see tables that ordered after us get their food before us. That's the only reason for a 4 star rating. If you aren't in a hurry, and maybe don't mind walking for parking, I'd definitely recommend The Shed! read more

We came to the shed for brunch on Sunday. Food was incredibly slow, took 45 plus minutes to come out. We asked the waitress if the pancakes was a large surveying and our kids could split it. And she said, yes. And what came out was too small for even 1 kid. Even basic things like a side of fruit and a side of toast took over 45 minutes with no effort from the waitress to help bring out easier items faster. It also took a long time to get place settings, drinks, and anything else we needed. The food itself was mediocre but the service made it impossible. read more

Came here tonight with an 11 top for my wife's birthday. All of us are either ex or current service industry. Most of us have patronized The Shed in the past, so we're familiar with the casual level of service and had appropriate expectations. We sat down at 8:30 pm on the patio. At this point there were 17 guests in the restaurant not counting the bartop. So we were almost half the clientele in the establishment. We were very quickly informed that it was our Server's (Ali) first day. We told her no sweat, we're all in the same line of work, we got you. We got our drinks and appetizers within a reasonable time, and had our entree order taken around 9:15. We then sat for the next 30 minutes. One person's drink never made it to the table, despite us asking the server multiple times about it. We were then informed by one of our party who went in to ask for her check that our server was just then putting in our order. We waited for another hour before going inside to ask about our food. At that point we were informed that our food was being plated. When the food came out, over half of our order was missing. I went back inside to ask what had happened, and was told by the bartender (the acting manager) that the rest of the food had not been sent and was being started right then. Over an hour and half after we sat, an hour after we ordered. We told the bartender that we wanted to just cancel our order and leave. She was unable to completely comp any of our drinks or the food that had been made. After going back inside again, I was informed that the manager had told her to charge us full price for our drinks, and to only offer a comp for the food that was made. TLDR: Waited almost two hours for food that was never even put in by the server, no manager on duty, no attempt from management or ownership to rectify a terrible experience. I'm not mad at our server. She should have NEVER been put in that situation with next to no training or experience to begin with. I'm not mad at the bartender. She should have managerial powers or not be in charge. I'm mad at the manager who wouldn't even offer a drink comp to a group of guests who didn't even get their food, much less actually do his job and be in the restaurant. And I'm mad at an owner who would run such a shameful and embarassing business model. A member of my group had to help our server ring in our food because she did not know how to keep track of split checks. My wife's birthday dinner was ruined. And I still paid almost $150 to walk away with an empty stomach. My entire group was servers and bartenders at a high end establishment in town, we are VERY forgiving and understanding. So the fact that we are all this upset is a testament to the asinine way tonight was handled. Do not go here. It may just be a casual neighborhood restaurant, but they do not care about your experience. Or you as a guest. This was the worst restaurant experience have ever had in town. Not to sure why the rating is low, people must not be going when Devin works. I don't know if it's a dive bar because the food is pretty good. Devin actually makes a lot of the sauces for Monday wing night. The wine is limited..yea I like my wine, but besides that the bar is stocked fairly well ...granted they don't carry all of the new stuff that comes out every few months but they have enough to make their clientele happy. 4 years later and still makes me mad, had lunch here with some friends one time. A hour after ordering they bring out our food cold as hell and one of my friends got a plate he didn't order. Told them it was the wrong order and they left the wrong plate on our table for 30 min. At that point my friend finally picked at the coldest Mac n cheese ever and got his food nearly 45 min after telling them it wasn't right. Get the check and the Mac n cheese is on the bill, tell the manager and he tells us since he "ate" it he had to buy it. Located this little gem out of luck! The atmosphere was nice as well as the ambiance. It was quiet since we went after the lunch rush hour! The service was very good and they were attentive! The reason we all went to the Shed was to get BEEF FINGERTIPS. It was worth it and it was very good. The beef was tender and juicy. We had such a great time on our first visit to the Shed in Boise. We immediately got seated and got lucky because as soon as we did this place filled up with the hockey flange being on. I loved the vibe of this place and would be a great place to watch any sporting event. Food was outstanding! My SOS burger was awesome but high points for me were the hand cut fires and the wings were amazing! I would come back just for those. Service was A+ our server Benjamin was outstanding. He was such a kick in the pants with such a great attitude and loved his joking personality. That's another point I would come back for is just to sit in his section. A good stop with Great food. They have always been consistent and now they even have the Torch old Finger Steak recipe on their menu! Service was great and ambience is always a plus here. They also have a few tvs to get your sports updates as you eat. I had the Cubano sandwich which was filling and just the tight amount of ingredients to create that balance. The bread they use is really good too! I also ordered the garlic parmesan tots but for the $2, prob won't get those again cuz it lacked garlic. My wife had the Finger Streaks which we shared and were superb! We finished the meal with some fried oreos which were cooked perfectly. The only complaint is the parking, but it is not their fault. College dive bar with great food, a good patio, and friendly servers. Monday night is wing night in which the chef creates several unique varieties of wing flavors for cheap. You pay per wing, so you can have a little or a lot, but fair warning, you can't take wings to go on Mondays! Amazingly unique combos like huckleberry jalapeno, queso, spicy pickle, etc. Best wings in the whole valley. Great place to stop before the BSU games, or to watch a game on tv with all the screens. I am here to say I love the food and drinks here but I've had the worst experience with the waitresses. I would like to post this review in hopes that other people don't recieve the same customer service I did today. I went in with two friend to have some dinner at about 7:30pm yesterday. We sat at a booth and the service brought us menus. My two friends ordered cocktails and I asked for a coca-cola. The server took our order and checked both my friends ID's. She then walked to go ring that in and shortly after the bartender approached our table and asked to re-verify my friends ID's. They were a bit confused but showed them anyway. The bartender was bending them and really examining them. I thought this was strange but maybe they were cracking down on fakes. She then turned to me and said and "do you have your ID on you?" I said "oh- I mean I do but I ordered a soda.." so I pulled it out and she was bending and examining mine. My friend made a sort of joke and asked if we didn't look old enough. (We are 23, 24 and 28). The bartender was ignoring our questions and we were asking what's going on? She then just walked away without saying anything and went to the group of servers at the POS system and they were pointing and talking. We felt uncomfortable so we got up quickly and left. We called to try to speak to a manager however they did not pick up my calls and my friend was able to speak to someone who was rude over the phone. It is not about being ID'd but more so they did not explain why the second time was necessary nor why I needed to provide my ID when ordering the soda and igorned us and walked away when we asked question's. read more

They claim they're as good as the torch used to be before the strippers for the finger strips. They were close there was lots of garlic but the quality of the meat just wasn't there. I was disappointed because there's like absolutely zero place to park and the counter guy was friendly enough but they weren't good enough for me to go again there's something about the meat that had at the torch I don't know if it was quality but it was always tender without any tendons or muscle. read more

I have been coming to the shed for 5 years now, more often than not the service is not very good, Every time we come we say we will never come back due to the bad service, but eventually wing night or the other food keeps us coming back. But tonight was the best experience I've had at the shed since coming here and it was because of Josh our server, our entire group was so shocked with how good of service he gave us, the shed is lucky to have him and I hope he is our server when we come back because we will be requesting him! read more

Apparently AUTISTIC children and adults NOT WELCOME!!!! Used to love eating here. But a very rude and agressive guy named Devin behind the bar just said in a very stern way that our family couldn't go in there to eat because our autistic kid had his Chick-Fil-A sandwich in a bag with him while the rest of our family planned on eating in the food provided offered by their establishment. I understand not allowing outside food in a restaurant under normal circumstances, but when there is a special needs child that won't eat anything but 2 or 3 foods all other restaurants always make allowances because of special needs discrimination laws and most of all common decency and empathy. We've been allowed by every other person at the Shed as well. But not this time with this bartender. We left respectfully and didn't say anything on the way out except to each other that apparently we can't go eat there anymore. Unfortunately my sister had to turn around and go back in because in the way to our car, her son's nose started gushing blood and we needed napkins. When she went in and asked for napkins, Devin the bartender, said "Damn you don't have to be so F****** rude about it!" She wasn't being at all rude and wasn't even planning on complaining about being sent on her way, but apparently since my sister wasn't acting like Sally Sunshine when she asked him for some napkins, he took it upon himself to verbally assault her. Then a woman drinking at the bar started telling my sister off about trying to bring outside food into a restaurant and that it was breaking health codes. As someone that's worked in the food industry for many years I now that's not true. Food can't go back into the kitchen or prep area. I went back in to get the bar tender's name and he gave it to me but wouldn't let me explain anything to him. He just kept interrupting me and yelling sarcastically have a nice day as he motioned me out. I'm usually calm but I lost my cool and yelled back at him a I left. I tried to explain about health codes. I also wanted him to know that my adult sister that he cussed at in front of the whole bar is also autistic and he shouldn't make ugly assumptions about people when they don't talk or act like someone neurotypical. My sister has been through enough trying to live up to social norms and having to take abuse from ugly people like him her whole life which has caused her extreme social anxiety. She should never have received such verbal abuse from someone that should be acting professional. He acted more like a drunk sitting at a bar than a professional serving drinks behind one. read more

I get that inflation has been a problem, but this just seems like greed and taking college kids' parents money. Wont be back.
