We came here because of the reviews. It is located in what seems to be the historic downtown are of Nampa, with older, brick buildings, and assorted boutiques, restaurants, and dive bars, and next to the Nampa museum. It was about 1:45 pm on a Friday, and the place was fairly crowded. We were sat at a small booth for two, not my favorite table, but understandable that they would want to save their tables and booths for four for larger parties. It's very loud, hard to talk, so in tha sense the small booth we were in, set apart from the main seating area, was better for my wife and I to talk. Our server was Yulia, and she was delightful. Very nice, efficient, and attentive. Great service! We both had the classic burger, mine with the sharp cheddar it comes with, my wife sans cheese. 100% Wagyu beef, and cooked very nicely at medium. The bun was large and soft, very tasty and great texture. The fries were delicious; crispy and well seasoned, just great. They have a fry sauce that tasted like it had a bit of horseradish. I really liked it. Prices are very reasonable. In fact, I just had a burger at a nice restaurant in downtown Boise last week that had a smaller patty and bun, and cost $3 more. Isabella , my Server was a Gem! Such a Sweetheart! My only Complaint is the Bar seating is gone and they literally took the size of their Fish orders in half. Still 4 pieces, but now they look like a Chicken Strip Size, very disappointed since this was my Nampa, Idaho Fish choice. However, there were very accommodating when I wanted to add two Buns and some side lettuce and make these into Fish Sandwiches. Pictures that follow ate before and today's Fish Fillet size. This was a really enjoyable American style restaurant. It was a fun and open atmosphere with interesting art work. We were seated as soon as we entered and had our waitress at our table right away to take our drink orders. And she was always available. We tried the elk sliders and they were amazing, and the tater tots were cooked perfect. We tried a few of their local IPAs and they were served cold in a cold glass. Our overall experience was good. They gave you a lot of food and everything tasted good. Seating is spaced well so you are never sitting next to others. The music was not loud so it was easy to have conversations. I would recommend this place for families or couples or even if you are by yourself. They have an enjoyable bar area with seating. We were traveling and felt lucky to find this restaurant. read more

This place popped up as a must-try burger spot in downtown Nampa, and it didn't disappoint. It's a fun little spot in the heart of downtown, a decent amount of seating, and service was great. Since it was our first time, we asked for recs and everything she recommended was yummy. We started with the Mac and cheese and bacon egg rolls- I know, it sounds off-the-wall, but so is this place, and in this regard, it's a good thing! They were probably my personal favorite part of our meal. The sauce had great heat and they were delicious. My son ordered The Elliot burger, I Had the Holy Cow burger and my daughter got the Cobb salad- everything was fresh and tasty- I would have loved the spicy sauce that came with the egg rolls on my burger, but that's for next time. We tried the fries and tots, and our recommendation would be to get the fries. I used to love this place. Gone downhill. I love sitting at a table for 15 minutes while the hostess and 2 servers chop it up at the front before we have even been offered waters. Overpriced and over rated. Quality of food and customer service leave quite a bit to be desired. read more

My family and I had a horrible experience tonight. I am NOT a Karen, I never ask to speak to managers and I never do reviews. I felt it was necessary to do this review because our experience was that bad. The waitress we had was horrible, the worst I have ever had ever in my life. We ordered some appetizers first. We got the food, but she forgot silverware. I had a hair on my plate, not once, but twice. When she came back to check on or table and asked if WE needed anything else, she listened to 1 person and speed off like a bat out of hell before anyone else could say anything. Then had the nerve to cop an attitude if we asked for anything else when she returned with that 1 thing and she forgot to get my sister a beer. Every time she came to the table she acted annoyed and was not friendly at all. Even with all of this, we were not being rude to her at all at this point and we had every intention of giving her a tip. Waitresses have hard days too right? Then she went from bad to worse. We had 5 people, 4 checks and she was told at the very beginning that we needed separate checks. She clearly forgot because she was annoyed when we asked her to separate it. After repeatedly asking us who ordered what, she still screwed it up. When I asked her to correct it she actually had the nerve to mouth off to me as if it was my fault. After confronting her, telling her never speak to me that way again I spoke to the manager who btw was absolutely incredible! He handled the situation professionally with kindness. I hope the girl learns her lesson and hope she will be reprimanded appropriately. At least the food was good, minus the hair of course! read more

We have been regulars at Holy Cow for about a year or so. We tried several different menu items but settled on our favorites that we order time and time again. The fish tacos and Rude Boi burger are our go-to items. We decided to go this evening and we were very disappointed with the "new menu". The menu itself looked different but the items appeared to be the same so we ordered our favorites like always. This time was unfortunately different and we may not go back after our experience this evening. The "update" changed some of the good things about the food we love and didn't enjoy them. Increased the prices but felt like decrease in the quality of ingredients. My tacos were covered in red onions and no more halves of cherry tomatoes and my husband's Rude Boi didn't kick like it used to. It was like they were imposters of the food we loved. I come here from time to time. In can be a little hard finding parking but its worth the drive. I like to order a burger and tots. It is always cooked well and the fries are always well seasoned. The holy cow cause is great and it has great flavor. The waiters are always nice and so it the cashier. They get us seated in a timely manner. I've been back twice now within a couple months and I find the location wonderfully Convenient in old town Nampa, the staff are all super nice and efficient and the interior is way cool. But both times my burger has been so overcooked that it's grey inside. They don't ask how you like it cooked so this time I made sure to especially request medium rare but it was still cooked well, just like others at the table. We had made another request and that was overlooked too. So, even though I want to love it, I just don't want to return for a grey beef patty. :( read more

It was just OK. With all the talk surrounding Holy Cow, I had pretty high expectations, especially considering the prices. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and well-crafted. The burgers are made from locally sourced wagyu. I landed on the Rude Boi Burger (1/2 pound beef patty, charred jalapeno, house made pimento cheese, bacon, roasted jalapeno aioli on a toasted brioche bun, $17.50). I wasn't asked how done I wanted it cooked, and I should have made a comment because this sammy was dry af. Even in the very middle. The meat was definitely high quality and it probably would have been a delicious burger if it was cooked to my liking. The jalapenos delivered zero heat. I didn't hate it, but it was just an ordinary burger. It was very good dipped in fry sauce. The fries were good but nothing extraordinary. My husband ordered the Sam Elliot, which came with pulled pork and bacon, American and cheddar cheese, BBQ Sauce and "cowboy" mayo ($18.00). When I asked how it was, he said, "Meh." He, too, would rather have been asked how done he'd like it cooked. The service was pretty good! Our service did ask how everything tasted to which I responded, "It's alright." She took the time to ask about my concerns and I appreciated that! I suggested they consider how doneness can really make or break a burger and kindly ask their patrons. She was incredibly receptive to the feedback and said she'd take it to the chef. :) It'll be a while before I return but I believe I will.
