I also learned of an elderly couple they were taking advantage of by "not being able ti get a part" for their 9 year old Lennox furnace and scared them into a $13,000 new unit. Fry has been our Heating and Air Conditioning company for well over 25 years. They deliver good…read moreservice. I called less than 2 weeks ago, and set up a time to have our new furnace inspected for the Fall season (We bought a Guardian (York) Furnace and AC unit, directly from Fry, and installed by Fry. (January this year)). We follow Fry's recommendations and have our furnace checked, before the winter weather gets cold, and again every spring the AC is checked. The Fry Service Tech (Chris) called at about 10:45, and said he was running ahead of schedule, and was in the neighborhood, and could he do our Fall Furnace inspection now. (Originally scheduled 1pm). He was here in 5 mins, said he remembered a little about the house, and complimented us on our new furnace. Chris went right to work, removed covers, checked the air filter ("change in the spring"), check wiring, circuits, Voltage, drain tubing, condensation well and pump. Tested the furnace for a cycle, and said "everything looks good, has she been working well for ya?" (Told him we're very happy with it! And it was a good price!) He was done in less than an hour. Then he thanked us for being a customer, put his tool bucket in his Van, and emailed a service invoice before he left the driveway, on to his next service call. We highly recommend Fry Heating and Air Conditioning, for all home Heating and AC needs. Thanks Fry, see you in the Spring!

From a customer service point of view this call we received today was highly unprofessional even tho it did end in them seeming to understand where we were coming from. If the call was to happen it should've started out with I'm sorry for experience how can we improve and not try to be defensive. This caused my review to go from 3 stars down to 2. Communication is key and it can definitely be improved on here. The work that was completed was good but the lack of communication and unprofessional call has left a spur taste in my mouth. Double check your estimates. I had a piece of the requested project left off the estimate after clear communication that it needed to be done. Walked the team through what needed to be done when they got here. At that point you think they'd point out it wasn't part of the estimate but no they waited untill the rest was done and told us it was going to be almost 900 for what was forgotten on the estimate. So make sure you double check for errors because im very frustrated with this because it wouldn't have taken long since most of the pvc is already there . They also charge 3% for every thousand dollars and they did not communicate it at any state in the process of hiring them. ( they didn't charge us because it was not disclosed in the estimate itself) but beware it does exist.

It has been 2 weeks since my dog and I woke up to a colder than normal home. I always turn the…read morethermostat down to 60 before we go to bed but I could tell it was colder than that. I checked the thermostat and it read 56. I let my dog out and changed the batteries in the thermostat. Then I put the temp up to 70 and nothing. I put ut up to 75 and still nothing. I let my dog in snd called Glass City. I got a recording telling me yo leave a msg. I begged and pleaded for someone to come out because I am in my 70s and it was the 2nd day of a cold spell that was going to last at keast a week. I got a callback ftom the tech on call. I explained my problem and he said he would be here around noon. Meanwhile, I went to Home Depot and got 2 ceramic tower heaters and plugged one in when I got home. I received a msg that the tech was on his way. He arrived around 12:15p. I had already removed the folding door that covers the furnace area snd he proceeded to take the cover off and check all of the connections. I sat in my chair while he looked over my furnace. There was a code that said High Ignition. He found a small black hose that was disconnected from where it belonged so he reconnected ut and then saw done sending water in a pipe and blew into it. Then he fid z couple of other things and restarted the furnace. It started up snd went through it's stages and heat started coming out of the vents. I cried because I was soooooo happy I wasn't going to have to go somewhere until it could be fixed. The technician was really respectful and informative. He stayed a little bit to be sure the furbace was going yo continue running. It took almost 2 hours for it got up to the temp i set it at. It was the best $150 I spent. Of course, I was kind of leary for the next week, listening to the furnace and hearing it run through it's stages. I live in a very small house and i know every doubd tge furnace is suppose to make and do far do good it hasn't let us down. I am so, so, happy that Glass City was able to come on the same day and that the fix was one tgat didn't require any parts that could have delayed it working. My dog and I are happy, warm, and cozy Glass City customers!!!​

I looked online and found that Brian Johns came highly recommended. I called and found that sadly, Mr. Johns has passed. However Abe, has taken on the business and upholds the same high quality standards, and honest and fair pricing. Abe responded quickly (probably would have been quicker if it wasn't for my lack of availability).He got right to work, first diagnosing, and then fixing the problem. In my case it was low refrigerant. He instructed me on how to keep my system clean, and provided information on estimated future costs, should my system need further repair. Overall, Abe was fast, affordable, and extremely professional. I highly recommend his service if you have HVAC problems.
