Planning a destination wedding can be tough and when you don't really have the chance to meet every single vendor face to face prior to the big day, you have to put a lot of trust into who you choose. Our wedding coordinator recommended Maui DJ Services and I know why. Professional, organized and very communicative. We only communicated with Scott via email but we really didn't need to have any video calls because their website was so organized and easy to maneuver. You can basically carefully curate your entire wedding from the processional to the reception if that's what you desire, or you can leave it up to them to play bangers if you don't want to create a wedding playlist, either way it's nice to have the choice. We were super picky about what type of music we wanted to play and from the feedback we got from our guests, they LOVED the dinner music and the reception music had everyone moving and grooving. Scott is very professional, smiley, and has a great personality. His dee-jay skills are top notch as well. He's the total package! He and his assistant arrived early to set up, and was ready to go even before guests arrived. His equipment is high tech; MacBook, good speakers, and cool lighting. We did an 80's theme party, which he also dressed up for in MC Hammer attire, and was able to fulfill the playlist as well as all requests given to him. The sound was clean with smooth blends. We did break theme and asked him to play some current songs as well, which made the party even more fun and memorable. Breakdown was on time, quick and clean. I planned my destination wedding remotely (without a planner) so I researched each vendor like crazy- and was still nervous because of course. Scott/Maui DJ Services was a life saver for several reasons. 1. Pre-wedding Scott offers a unique online portal that brides fill out with requests and with scheduling. It was unbelievably helpful. I did not even use the wedding planner I purchased after seeing the in depth, detailed portal Scott provided. Scott is also responsive to emails and phone calls (I had several questions). 2. Day of- WOW. Scott put the life in our reception. Every guest truly had a blast. The music kept rolling and the dance floor was always packed. I was nervous no one would dance because we only had 50 guests. Wrong. It was a full out dance party the entire time. Not only was the music perfect, but Scott and his team know little tricks to keep the reception flowing (i.e. how to do the cake cutting, how to prompt the coordinator to stay on schedule). They made it so easy! Let me just start by giving Scott and his team a huge round of applause, and a heart filled thank you! We had a majority Spanish speaking wedding party, so it was a little daunting having to count on a what I assume is a primarily English speaking dj crew to help us dance the night away. Scott and his team made it such a breeze to give them our musical preferences. They gave us a personalized "portal" that we could access at our leisure to put exactly what songs we wanted to play and when. It ranged from introduction songs, first dances, anniversary dances, and just songs to help get the party going. You could even create a Spotify playlist and just give it to them. Michael, Alexxys, and Nate were so friendly, and went out of their way to ask how to pronounce names before introductions (most people would have just taken a stab in the dark and butchered the names). As all of the ceremonial activities ended, speeches and cake cutting was done and over with, they let our guests text them the exact songs they wanted to hear next. Let me tell you they ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT. There wasn't a single moment of awkwardness with music, not a single song went undanced (if that's even a word!).
