The Maui Food Trucks was a hit throughout our week stay. We came here at least 3 times for lunch. I think there around 10-11 food trucks with a great variety of food to choose from, including but not limited to local dishes, fish tacos, bao bun sandwiches, sliders, BBQ, sushi, burgers, shrimp plates, Thai, Mexican, breakfast, coffee, shaved ice, acai bowls. So yes, great variety ! The trucks that were there were when we visited were: Sol Brothers BBQ Suns Out Buns out (bao bun sandwiches) Vidad's (local plates, acai bowls) Maui Shrimp Maui Burgers Da Nani Pirates (fish tacos, local, sliders) Kracken Coffee Aloha Tai Fuson Z4 Grill (Teppanyaki, local food) Mexican Food truck K'Alale (breakfast, Mexican, pasta) Yummy Maui (sushi) Shaved Ice Most trucks you order on the electronic kiosk and they'll call your name when it's done. There are several (maybe 6?) covered areas with numerous tables and chairs, so ample seating is available. I saw a lot of complaints of dirty tables from bird poop. We had no problem with the tables. They were all clean. However there ARE a ton of birds and chickens, so except them to join you for lunch and and run around your feet and below the tables, waiting for you to drop food. One annoyance was only a few places have a kids menu, and was limited to hot dogs, grilled cheese, and cheese burgers (depending on what trucks are there). I do suggest you look up each individual food truck on yelp to see their menus and food pictures. This page doesn't give the greatest insight on that. A solid 4 star spot for lunch! Very convenient clutch of food trucks at this location lot behind the Azeka Shopping Center in Kihei with a good variety of foods to satisfy the whole family! We sorted through the menu of all of them and decided on Maui Shrimp and Da Nani Pirates. Both have touchscreen ordering boards set up out front. I'm sure most if not all the trucks prefer cashless payment for simplicity. There are a bunch of tables in the middle of the circled wagons, but we decided to take our food back to our condo to enjoy because of the fly problem like most food truck stands. There are also the ever present feral chickens strutting around. Don't feed them, chase them or try to grill them at your next BBQ! They get plenty fat on scraps that fall on the floor. I also wanted to try the Sol Bros Southern BBQ truck just to see their smoker in action but they were closed that day. A few mornings when we drove by, there were a line of cars in the exit lane going to the pick up window at the back of the Kraken Coffee truck. Our second time here, but this time there were a lot more options! They have lights and lots of tables so it's a great place to eat dinner if you don't know what you want and need options. The prices are hefty like as if you're dining in a restaurant with table service. Except, there is no table service, a lot of it is self serve which is expected for a food truck plaza. But even still, some prices were hard to justify. I ordered food from Vidad's local grindz which seemed to be the most affordable with generous portions. The steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimps were huge! The dish came with 2 dipping sauces too, one for steak and the other for shrimp. It was satisfying and I was able to feed my infant some of the cooked veggies too! Win-win! As far as the environment, there are lots of chickens running around. If you don't mind them, they won't mind you. We even saw some mating going on, hehe. There are also some photo props for light entertainment. Tables are somewhat clean if the people before you clean up after themselves. Plenty of garbage space for your trash too. Parking lot is dark at night as there are no lights in the open area. read more

Many options to choose from & the food varies from Hawaiian, Italian, vegan, American & more. They also have a few dessert selections including shave ice, boba drinks & pastries. We visited around noon during a weekday so not as many trucks were present. We did hear that more trucks are available towards the evening but it gets super busy. I think this is a nice location if you're going with a group as there are plenty of options. If you're looking for something more intimate, it would be better to go before the evening rush. read more

Maui Food Trucks in Kihei is a great spot if you want a variety of food in one place. The location makes it easy to try different trucks, and the ones we tried were all really good. It's a nice casual setup with plenty of picnic tables and shaded seating, which makes it comfortable to hang out and eat. There are also lots of chickens running around, which adds to the laid-back Maui vibe. Unfortunately, one thing really stood out in a bad way. At the Suns Out Buns Out truck, what looked like a dirty water tank was leaking, and there was a strong sewage smell coming from underneath it. There were flies around the area and a dirty puddle of water right in front of the truck near the ordering window. It was pretty nasty and definitely off-putting. Overall, the food truck area itself is a great concept with good food and a fun atmosphere, but I really hope the vendors stay on top of cleanliness and maintenance so it doesn't take away from the experience. read more

I'm super sad that I found out about this place on our last night here. To be honest, this food truck place is hard to find. It's not on a main street. It's behind the Azeka Plaza. I love how there was plenty of parking and seated areas. It has various options to choose from. We ordered thai fried rice to eat tomorrow but all of the menus looked amazing. It's quick, easy and you can eat it there in covered picnic tables or take it back to your home or overlooking the beach. One of many food truck designated areas on Maui. This one is just off Kihei main road and has 6 or 7 trucks scattered through out serving a variety of meals. My favorite truck is THE KRAKEN coffee company. Beautiful young ladies serving you Java throughout the day is like Heaven. However aside from the young ladies the smoothies are what keep me coming back to this area. Some of these trucks even have a drive up window so getting out of the car is not even necessary... Amazing evening outdoor dining under twinkle lights and Pergolas foodie experience ! Do not wear heels though. Park bench tables and gravel underfoot. Yelp states that this plaza closes at 6:00 or 6:30pm but actually many of the food trucks stay open if it's busy and 3-4 always stay open until 8pm. There will be food trucks open past 6:30. Parking lot is big. It's a surf or do the beach thing until dusk and head over here kind of place....in your flip flops , bucket hat, torn jeans and raggedy t shirt place. Come with all your family especially if they are the sort who cannot decide on what to eat or have squirmy kiddos in tow. There are roosters and chickens to chase here. There are ten food trucks to choose from. It's like a food mall but outdoors and of course it's on wheels. Support local owners. That's what it's all about ! This station is the first food truck stop on all of Maui. It should get credit for being the first ... without the first other cannot follow , right ? The Kihei Station food truck park is located on Piikea Avenue, right behind the Azeka Mauka Shopping Center. This is the one that started it all on Maui. What a great idea, bringing 7 of the best food trucks on the island with such a creative variety of cuisine. You can tell that these chefs were selected so there wouldn't be a lot of overlap in the menus. Everybody in your group can order just what suits them and you can enjoy your food together at one of the many picnic tables. The large parking lot has plenty of room for your cruiser, or if you just need a caffeine fix, there's a drive through for that. read more

What an amazing spot in Kihei! I had a "Shorty" Bao Bun from Suns Out / Buns Out and it was delicious. Super fresh, tasty, tender, all the good things. Had a Bling Bing Chinese shave ice for dessert - their twist is that the shave ice has a generous drizzle of sweetened condensed milk, and the toppings are so much fun - I had mango boba beads on mine. can't wait to go back - so many other things to try. Great food options but the tables outside really need a good scrubbing. Nice that they have a handwashing station outside.

Fantastic variety of international/ethic cuisine. "Thai Mee Up" had the best green curry worthy of a 5* rating.

Nice food cart pod. We went two days in a row and tried food from 4 different carts. All of it was delicious. Lots of covered seating.
