this tour was absolutely amazing. The funny part is I live in California and I really didn't like eating pineapple I didn't like the taste of it and everything but we went on the tour and I tried it and oh my God I loved it. I was really surprised how good your pineapples tasted , and I also learned so much that when I got I was telling my daughter what to look for when she goes to buy one just from the information our tour guy gave us. It's just really amazing all the stuff that I learned this was my first trip to Maui along with my friend and I'm so happy we got to do this tour thank you for an awesome day. We've been to Maui many, many times and often think there is nothing new under the sun for us to see. Our son wanted to try out the scooters so I booked a tour with David. After a quick driving/riding lesson in the Maui Mall parking lot we were off. We spent most of the day exploring the Ian Valley and the NW side of the island. We stopped and did the hike at 13 Crossings (well worth a visit), did a quick ride over to Turnbull Studio (unfortunately they closed early that day but the ride was great), and then did a nice long scoot back to Kahului. We had a great time and have no reservations about recommending Hawaiian Scooter Tours to friends visiting the island. Thanks, David, for a great day! read more

From start to finish this was an excellent scooter tour. David is a great communicator. Answered every email and text message. David made accommodations for our family of six. All in all, just a really great fun time. I have been on other scooter tours and this is by far the best. We left after making sure all of us were comfortable on the scooters; this was my daughter in laws first time on a scooter so she was a little apprehensive but David had us practice in the parking lot until she felt more confident. David is patient, excellent with communication and a great instructor. He made plenty of stops for pictures and to check in with everyone in our party and make sure they were enjoying the ride. We went to 2 local artist gallery's & shopping. Food truck at the 2nd gallery. Food was delicious. Continued around the island to a hike & waterfall - very beautiful. Then to the blow hole. Continued around the island to a beautiful cliff dive & snorkeling spot. A bit of a hike but so so worth it. Started at 9:00 am & returned at 6:00 pm. Tip- Bring plenty of water, sunblock to keep reapplying, & towels, all will fit under the scooter seat. read more

If you want to live or avoid injury I'd recommend another company. Not sure of any. Also the name Hawaiian scooter tours you'd think a local or Hawaiian would be helping:guiding you. Just got back from a Scooter tour and hike up to the top of West Maui Forest reserve. Our tour guide David was outstanding and very informative. The scooters were great and worked perfectly all day. The day tour with a scooter was extremely reasonable. I would recommend highly. Best day of our trip so far. David thx again and we will be back!!! I never write reviews, but I feel that future customers of Hawaiian Scooters need to HEED THIS WARNING before they decide to rent from this place in Maui. The rental is $50/day for these scooters up front BUT BEWARE that the scooters you will be receiving are VERY CHEAP and are HIGHLY LIKELY to BREAK on you. Not only is it UNSAFE to ride, BUT YOU WILL PAY HANDSOMELY FOR THE DAMAGES. The first sign of this was when he was 2 hours late to deliver the scooters because of a repair issue from PREVIOUS customers. This is a red flag. Not only was there poor communication about the ETA but he was unresponsive. This was a sign that the scooters already have a history of breakdowns and we did not realize it. As we were riding, the welding joint of the kickstand fell off mid-ride and the metal started dragging on the street, we had to tie this back up with a shoelace in order to just make it back home. As we were trying to fix the kickstand, the other parked scooter was blown over by strong coastal winds causing scratch marks on the body. The headlights also decided not to work because of a wiring issue that the owner admitted and we were forced to ride in the DARK without any lighting. IT WAS NOT TESTED BEFOREHAND AND THIS IS DANGEROUS. As I'm reporting these issues to David (the owner) in real time, he disrespected us and called us "liars" for no reason and only looked to protect himself in the case that I was going to sue for his faulty scooters. Not only was this unprofessional but extremely rude. David maintains that he verbally told us that it was "illegal" to take the Honoapiilani highway to Lahaina and that we were not allowed to go a mile over 30 MPH. This vital information is not written on any of the documents I had to sign nor is it posted anywhere on their website. It is unreasonable to assume that a visitor to the island will know which highway is off limits and which is not as google maps only labels it the HI-30 unless you know where to zoom in. The scooters can glitch and go over 30 MPH and you will already be going at illegal speeds. David threatened to file a police report with his GPS data on the scooters when none of these rules were written anywhere. He later charged $200 dollars for the damages on top of the $100 rental for two scooters totaling $300+tax. When renting these scooters, your credit card will have a hold for $750 dollars per scooter and David will have the full liberty of taking as much as he wants for the FAULTY Scooters that he decides to rent to you. This entire experience was a nightmare. PLEASE, PLEASE BEWARE. read more

Every time we visit the island we rent scooters because it's the best way to see things plus if you see a place you want to stop it's so easy to find a place to part. We came off of the cruise ship pride of America. My first thought when ever I want to see the sights is to rent a scooter. Our first call was to Hawaiian scooters,And wow did we get lucky. David the owner was so gracious, so humble and so aloha. His equipment is new and in great shape, aesthetically nice and mechanically sound. The scooters have enough power to travel any part of the island. David has a wide range of knowledge of Maui, and knows all of the amazingly beautiful experiences the island has to offer, he also gives tours. I am a yelper, and when I say five stars I mean five stars. David is a self propriety, but his customer service was second to none. Goodbye Maui, we left feeling As if we saw all of you. read more
