The lady haughtily stated, "Oh that happens sometimes." They can sell defective clothing and think that is just fine! My advice is shop elsewhere. Purchase shampoo for my sister out of the JCPenney's in North Riverside because I work in that area…read moreI live near Orland Park so I returned the shampooed to the Mokena store such nasty attitudes about a return. The shampoo was never opened. It sat in my car so that I can return it and when I got there, I guess because it sat in the car with hot temperatures, it leaked a little well. Lori explained to me that it had been opened and they weren't sure if they could take it back I reassured her. I never opened it. It never came out of the bag. Well, I don't know. I'll have someone go to the hair salon to open up another and see if there was a seal that was on it as she asked another employee to do that. I told her it was never opened. When I got to the car, I decided to check the price online. $5.50 less. I decided to go back inside and I told her they are on sale online, can't you honor the price? Let's be real about JCPenney's situation. It was 7:00 p.m., I don't think I even saw five shoppers in the whole store. She said "No, that's an online price". That's all she had to say, she couldn't bother to say anything such as "I could ask my manager". I told her, get a manager for me. He came up front and adjusted the price for me. So what is the problem with the young brunette at the checkout who showed no regard for a customer satisfaction with her short and unhelpful answers? But, she was very willing to use words when she was trying to talk me into a credit card I have no need for. And not once or twice, but three times. I hate to see this story go out of business because there are few brick and mortar retail stores like JCPenney. If their prices in the store were as advertised online, wouldn't they bring in more traffic? And if they had something that resembled friendly and helpful customer service more people would probably shop here also. She had plenty of time to help me, there was no one in line behind me.

I used to shop Joe Bank's haberdashery a lot pre-COVID before COVID nearly destroyed the business; however, it looks like guys, at least some, are buying business and business casual wear again (cargo shorts just not cutting it). I stopped going for a long, long time. The merchandise had really gone down hill compared to former quality (See my review for the Deer Park store.) I was pleasantly surprised at the now value for the money as the product seems to have taken a step up. Sure some things are up there in price and sourcing is more concentrated off-shore but there was a nice range of price points from casual to Tux--and with plenty of accessories including shoes. I picked up a couple of great additions to the wardrobe at a nice value. So, for this location and this visit, four stars. If Joe keeps this up, I just might make it a regular stop again.

The standard of work between the Aurora and Orland stores is pathetic. The groomsmen who got their suits just knew a tie was present, they had no idea it was the wrong colored tie. We didn't figure out they were wrong until the groomsmen were getting ready and my husband asked one of the guys if he brought his own tie... This means they didn't even check the suits thoroughly prior to giving them out to their customers which is what they are paid to do... Prior to the wrong colored ties we were already upset we had to make a second trip the day before our wedding to pick up our suit orders that needed to be fixed due to pants with holes in the pocket, stains on multiple white shirts (including the grooms) and one order sent without the vest... Multiple people in the party had make extra trips to the stores the two days before our wedding because nothing was right the first time. All they offered in return for their HUGE mistake was half the money back for the two suits they mismatched the ties.... And the lady saying "she wanted to cry for me". At this point we should have all our money back for the lack of attention or effort put into their business when this is such an important day for their customers. Moral of the story this business did not make my wedding day any less stressful than it already was and if anything gave me more problems and stress. Also, looking at this picture literally breaks my heart considering all of the time, effort and money that was put in this day ruined by their carelessness.

I don't love it because everyone and their mom and THEIR moms all shop here, so you're not getting anything super unique. I bought an owl sweater at the Oakbrook Terrace location because I have an owl obsession. The way that it was displayed in the store, it had a collared shirt underneath it and it looked super preppy yet stylish. I ordered the sweater one size up, assuming that it would need to be a little bigger to put a collared shirt under it. When I finally found a collared shirt to match, the sweater was still too huge so I had to bring it back. Let me also note, that I'd bought this sweater 3-4 weeks earlier and it'd been hanging in my closet until I could hunt down the perfect shirt to go underneath it. I'd since lost the receipt, because everything always gets thrown out at my house. I was super nervous bringing it in that they would hassle me and I'd be stuck with this huge sweater. I came in this past Sunday and the line was horrendous--so horrendous that I contemplated just hanging my sweater up and grabbing the right size, but since I could never do something like that - I decided to wait it out. The line went really fast though. When I finally made it up to the register, I explained my plight to the nice lady and she told me that they didn't have anymore of the owl sweaters but I could pick out something else. Disappointed, I ran back to find something else and ended up with a brown/black and grey plain sweater. When I came back up, the lady told me that since I paid with my debit card, they could find my transaction. I handed over my card and in less than 15 seconds, she found my purchase. Lucky for me too, the sweaters happened to be on sale, so not only was I walking out with a sweater in the right size, but I was walking out the door $8 richer. Overall, my experience this weekend was a good one. The store was organized, the line moved quick and the cashier was friendly. I'm giving 4 stars because the team were great but don't expect me to start shopping here on a weekly basis!
