They took several smoke breaks doing my hair and my friend's hair. It took forever and there was so much hair spray in my hair it took me a week to untangle and I lost allot :( I have also heard they take breaks to go to the bar next door for a quick drink before continuing with their services. Piper has been my stylist from the beginning- she is wonderful and everything you could want in a stylist- friendly, explains every service well, answers all my questions and great At conversation. I also love how collaborative this team is, if a stylist can't get you in they work really well with their team to get you in. They share formulas and it's truly collaborative at Amara. Complimentary beverages upon arrival. They discuss every service and price point before starting to make sure you are comfortable and they also work around your budget too. I've personally had my hair done by both Piper and Addison who are wonderful but the whole team is super friendly. I have also had my daughter's hair cut here by Piper and she is wonderful and patient with kids as well. This salon is also very beautiful and just did an expansion and remodel of their beautiful space to welcome more stylists to the team. The entry in can be blocked if driving during traffic hour. Inside: I love the look and size of the studio. The privacy was a huge selling point for me. I was able to have an intimate time with my stylist with no other gossip or banter from other people. The washing station is a communal area. Which I was able to meet other women and stylists for a short time. The processing area is around the corner of the washing station and if other stylists don't have their doors closed you can easily eavesdrop in their conversations. My stylist did a great job! I'm in the process of getting my black hair lightened so I will be seeing her more than once. I look forward to visiting again. My massage therapist was Alissa she is awesome and thorough, I believe she said she had almost or around 10 years of experience. My nail tech Unnida did a great job, had a sunny disposition and she's just a delight to chat with. I love the pedicure studio! It is private from the rest of the spa and very sanitary. I love that they off sanitary and natural pedicures and manicures. DSM doesn't feel like a stuffy spa at all, it feels like you are getting services from your friends in a beautiful atmosphere. Front desk manager Britney has helped me change appointments, answered all my questions and has given me great recommendations on staff and services. I have yet to get any hair services done at DSM mostly because I already have a stylist. I have friends that exclusively visit DSM and only have good things to say.
