I assumed it was chain-related, so they offered a free estimate and roughly $21 for the issue. Since it was a holiday week and I had access to a transport vehicle, I spontaneously headed out to the shop. I worked with Ben, who by the way was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He put the bike up and immediately found the issue. Typical procedure would be to order the parts ( if they don't have it in shop) and they keep the bike until it arrives and complete the install. However in this case Ben was able to offer a workaround so I can leave with the bike that day itself. I couldn't say no. I would say the whole process took roughly 30 to 40, minutes which included the explanation and the installation. There is a small waiting area, and I think they offer free water and coffee. But of course I had to stand there and watch him because I'm always curious! He definitely went above and beyond checked everything else to make sure it looked good. It was only $16 for the installation fee. I would highly recommend this shop for any repairs. Trek offers their own bikes available for purchase. They are a little pricey, but definitely reliable bikes for serious cyclist enthusiasts...one day, but not quite there yet. Parking was a bit tough, considering the time of day. But there is a parking garage available if parallel parking isn't available. They do have an automatic door, and if they see you with the bike can automatically open the single door for easy entrance.

After some more back and forth, they switched out the bike for a larger one. Second, the saddle bags on my bike were not cleaned out before my rental - there were empty air cans, a chapstick and trash in the saddle bag. Last, and most offensive - while on my ride, I had an issue where the bike chain cover kept coming loose and the pedal would get caught on it mid rotation causing me to stop suddenly. I completed the ride and when I returned the bike, I mentioned it to the owner Mr. Robert Esti. He indicated that I may have done something to the part as it did not start out like that. I explained that nothing happened and it seemed to be spontaneous. He was rude, dismissive and did not address my concerns. For such a large price tag for rentals, this was not a good value for the experience - combined with the rude demeanor of Mr Esti- I recommend not using this location or the new location in Herndon.

We aren't young and described our needs and use cases, and even though the shop had a bewildering array (100+) different bikes, he immediately directed us to 3 different options which he believed suited our needs. He helped us 'test drive' all three, in their safe parking lot, and we were able to make a quick decision. It was a breath of fresh air! He helped us understand the features and operation of the bike, and patiently answered ALL our questions quickly and direcly... Our bikes will arrive in a few days and we have complete confidence in our decision. At first, it seemed like a bit of self-promotion, but after visiting and making the purchase, it all makes sense. These bikes are complex beasts. We consider ourselves reasonably technically and mechanically competent, but having them assembled and tested by professionals before taking them on the road definitely provides a lot of peace of mind... Just the safety considerations alone are worth the price of admission... The additional benefit is they also provide a lot of other services for maintaining and servicing the bikes, which is also a BIG DEAL. I cannot imagine the stress, endless frustrating telephone conversations, and the hassle of trying to fix, or worst case, disassemble and return one of these things to some faceless organization! Bottom line is our bikes will arrive in a few days, and we are very relaxed about our decision. They will assemble and test our bikes and JAIME will give us a call when they are ready for pickup. They will load them onto our bike rack, ready for the nearest trail!! Very impressed with JAIME MUNOZ, and the business model in general. I highly recommend them. If you are in the market for an e-bike, walk in and ask for JAIME, it will make your life a lot easier.
