Made an appointment for 10 am Saturday to get an inspection. Get a call saying "hey, we're slammed and the website doesn't really show our schedule. Could you do another day?" I say "sure, tell me a day & time you're not busy. I'm flexible." Appointment is scheduled for 10 am Monday. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes (being the only customer in the store for 45 of those minutes) I ask if my inspection has started yet. Nope. Haven't looked at the car yet. I took my car over the summer here and have been meaning to write a review. Be careful, if you have an inspection and your tires are still in decent shape, they won't pass you unless you buy more tires. I was in a time crunch with my inspection. The price was good for the tires but there are fee's tacked on for calibration/sensors that raise the price by a good amount. That being said they finished my car the same day, but I couldn't help but feel ripped off. read more

When you can find staff, they are very nice, but finding them is difficult. Be prepared to wait a LONG time or go hunting for somebody to help you. The phone rings continuously but nobody answers. The front desk is empty virtually all the time. On top of the lack of customer service they are slow, Slow, SLOW! Made an appointment, was exactly on time, yet the car sat in the parking lot for almost 1 1/2 hours untouched. Infuriating. Plan on new tires taking many hours even if you have an appointment. During my looonnggg wait a customer came in upset that their car broke down on the expressway because the oil filter was put in incorrectly. Mavis' response - "We're sure sorry" and explained something about an o-ring they missed. That apology and a hefty refund would've been barely enough, but all the customer got was an apology which I'm sure didn't remotely come close to undoing the damage. Under-staffed and under-managed. I made an appointment to have my Rover inspected, but had to cancel it shortly thereafter. I spoke to Alex and he was so professional and pleasant about same. I did reschedule the inspection and upon my arrival Alex did not disappoint. He greeted me with a huge smile & an amazing sincere demeanor. My experience with Alex was heartwarming. The inspection was complete in a very timely fashion... it made my day. I highly recommend the Mavis Beacon complex...5 stars. I shall return to have the oil changed on another car as well. My car was there for an oil change and tire rotation. Had an appt. For 8:00 am. It took them 4 hours and 45 minutes. I was there the last hour since that was my ride back was. I asked the clerk to add air to tires twice as they were low. He then said they did it. Car pressure gauge still said low. The clerk Prince told me you have to drive it to reset it I did- it did not reset. Went back for air, which the worker admitted did not do. It took at least 12 minutes for them to do. The receipt says they check it, with 5 pounds low still m, I doubt that! They also charged me for the tire rotation even with Mavis tires. They had to call corporate for a credit which took an extra 5 minutes. The same low tire pressure still said low, now I doubt they even rotated my tires? I will not go back- next tires will probably will not even be Mavis. read more

I went to another mechanic to have my oil changed and was told by them that my tires needed to be replaced. I had heard of this mechanic at Mavis tires who had a great reputation. His name is Alex and I knew that's where I wanted to go I was sent right over there because I had to go out of town and couldn't drive the next day on the tires because they were so bad. Alex was right to the rescue Had me in and out of there in a few hours was so informative about the tires he was selling me and the other parts that was needed. He actually had the parts sent within the hour that he had to replace on my car. I highly recommend Mavis tires and ask for Alex . read more

It was never actually fixed and I lost work because I was without my car for days. The second time I took my car back the "new " problem that was found was caused by Mavis and yet they tried to say it wasn't. Absolute crooks. Liars and thieves. Will never go to any mavis again and would recommend people stay far away from this location if they want their car actually fixed. I'd rate them zero stars. They couldn't even plug a tire correctly. Went in for a noise that started after a routine tire rotation that was done here. Was told by the tech that my car needed over $1000 worth of repairs. This seemed sketch to me considering that I had replaced some of the parts fairly recently that they claimed were needed. Went to a friend of mine that is a mechanic after that. Turns out about $1000 worth of the repairs was a total lie. As I suspected the recently replaced parts were totally fine. Nice try Mavis. I'd say definitely get a second opinion if they look at anything here. Or maybe just save yourself the trouble and don't set foot in here. Also, their scheduling communication is terrible. I've only ever had a great experience at this Mavis location in Beacon. I've been coming here regularly for vehicle maintenance. Appointment times are always honored and the shop runs at an efficient pace meaning you're back on the road as soon as possible. Every associate I've interacted with there has been helpful, and professional. I've found their pricing consistently fair or even better than fair. I stopped in last year for a warning light problem and even thought it was suspected to be a weather-related computer issue, they took my concern seriously and looked into it, giving me peace of mind (which really is priceless.) I've been meaning to write a review of this place. I only go here because it is convenient and close by, but I've been disappointed by them quite a few times. Once I asked for an inspection and they accidentally did an oil change instead. Then they hurriedly completed the inspection upon finding out they had completed the wrong service. To their credit, they gave me a coupon towards a free oil change in the future. Another time, my boyfriend dropped off his car for an oil change and said he'd pick it up first thing the next morning. He went back the next morning and it wasn't ready! They were working on it. They had left it until the absolute last minute, because they knew he wasn't coming back until the next morning. He had to sit and wait an additional 30 minutes for it to be ready. Yet another time, I was having a different service done and asked them to rotate my tires. They didn't rotate them, which I didn't notice until after I had left. I had to go back again so that they could be rotated. I also noticed when replacing my hubcaps that a lug nut had been cut and sheared off so that it was shorter and it could no longer be twisted fully into place. The next time I went there, I mentioned it and they said that a different mechanic must've done it. I told them that they are the only ones who have worked on my tires for the past 2 years, so it had to be someone there. They fixed it for no charge, at least. There was a rude worker there a couple of years ago who seems to be no longer there, so I'm only giving 2 stars because lately I've been dealing with nicer employees - Justin and Luis. read more

I was reminded yesterday, just how easy it is to get out of character. After countless hours, we don't have to get into how many - it was a long, long, time. Being around a very chaotic/tense and inconsistent energy all day, as well as losing a whole day had me extremely aggravated. I had initially planned to be home spending the holiday with my kiddos and helping some of them navigate through their mental health. That was not in the cards for me yesterday, so not only was I aggravated, but I was extremely worried all day. I held my patience with the infuriating situation, which was really just a series of bad circumstances and not really deliberate (for the most part). I finally lost it by the end of the evening and said some really crazy things that once I said them, instantly made me feel sick. It just isn't who I am. I realize we are entitled to bad moments, we are human after all: exactly my point for all of this. The staff at Mavis are human and dealing with real life shit, just like the rest of us. They have always been great to me in the past. So, I wanted to get on here to make sure to highlight their strengths as a team, and their efforts to turn a very frustrating experience into something positive. First of all, I want to give a really big thank you to Chris, the manager there. Not only was he very pleasant to me and accommodating all day, he went above and beyond to try and offer a solution. He even shared his yogurt :) The tire technician, Rashean was amazing and had my tires done in no time at all. He even apologized multiple times for the delay with the rest of the work being done, and shared some of his Goldfish with me. The front end assistant manager, Donna was pleasant and keep talking with me, despite the fact she was already having a very stressful time herself. She stayed well past 6pm to see if the mechanic would be able to complete the work. She made sure I got a salad for dinner and even took me home. Again, being very apologetic to me for the issues and delay. The mechanic, Caesar was the only mechanic on, and clearly overwhelmed with the day and I am sure his own things. He was doing multiple tasks, and didn't anticipate the issues he encountered with my vehicle. He stayed until after 7 in efforts to try and fix the vehicle and make good on issues that transpired throughout the day. He worked really hard trying to make it right, even offering to take me home if need be. I must also give credit where credit is due, and compliment and thank the manager, Shawn, who was out with Covid and answered the call from Donna. He took the brunt of my freak out, and was patient and calm throughout the whole process, assuring me that it would be all handled and they would work on getting me into a rental the next day if it came to that. The next day comes (today) and Chris has been in constant contact with and trying to secure a rental for me. My initial experience wasn't the best, but the staff really came through and were top tier. If you want to get friendly customer service and care for you and your vehicle, I encourage you to use this Mavis. You will even laugh some with the relaxed environment and dynamic that exists amongst the staff. Please remember, that in any type of customer service, the staff are dong their very best (most of the time), and they are also dealing with life and their own issues. Be kind, be understanding, be grateful and humble yourself. No one is perfect, everyone deserves grace, kindness and forgiveness. Despite, the mess of the situation, Shawn, Chris, Donna, Rashean and Caesar really went above and beyond to help me and attempt to get my car fixed. Their jobs are hard enough. I just wanted Mavis and the rest of world to know that they really handle business and are a great group of people, who deserve more credit than they get. The reality is that my experience and issues with my car could have happened anywhere, not being the fault of any one person. I am certain though, had it happened anywhere else, the customer care and response would not have been the same. I truly appreciate your efforts Mavis Beacon team. I am grateful for you. Horrible Customer Service From "Inspector John", car wasn't even there for 15 mins, and he said the tints didn't Pass, I then proceed to ask him if he can test it in front of me, he then went on to go say the machine is not working now, **Also my tints are 30% which are legal in NY, had them since I got car, which was 3 years already**, I then said I was goin to leave a bad review, then he proceeded to go outside take picture of my car on his PERSONAL PHONE, I ask for Him to delete it, he laughed in my face and said no. 4 years ago, I let a 5-star review. I guess things have gone way downhill from there. I went in there for tires. They had to order them. Said they would be there in 2 days. 2 days later I call. The chic answering the phone did not know which way was up. She put me on hold so long I hung up. I called back later. She still did not have a clue. Finally, she says call Saturday. A week later I call, and they have them. I show up with my car. The chic behind the counter (pretty sure it was the clueless one) is giving me attitude because I did not have an appointment. I was ready to leave. Some other guy helps me. I get the tires put on but after the fact the tire pressure monitoring system comes on because there is something wrong. I drop off the car again and no I don't have an appointment and have to get a ride. They reset the system. The guy must have known the problem was not fixed because he said if it comes back on come by on Sunday (it was presently Friday). Well guess what? You guessed it...the light came back on. I go there today (Sunday). They tell me one of the tire pressure sensors is bad (it was not bad on Friday as per them). They say they need to replace it, but they can't tell me which one is bad, so they want me to pay an additional 200.00 for all 4 new sensors plus the labor to get it resolved. I left and told them I would have someone else look at it. Seems kind of shady that there was no issue before I gave them the car and after the fact there is. They said it was a coincidence...there are no coincidences! Next time I will just go someplace else where they know what they are doing and are not trying to screw me. I would definitely stay clear of this location. They were once so good and my wife and I went here all the time but my last two experiences were horrible. They are not transparent and will tell you to drop off your car and that they are working on it when they are not. It was very difficult being without a vehicle when I have a pregnant wife and toddler all while being told my vehicle was ready for pick up. This went on for days all while the manager blamed the worker, but I had also spoken to him and he too lied. I must have heard a 100 sorries but that did not get my vehicle back to me any faster. Had an 11 am appointment for new tires. Brought the car in at around 10:40. I didn't leave till 1:38 after having to go back in to have my missing valve caps put back on. I expressed my frustration with the people working the service counter and the excuse I got was that my tire size made it take longer. As someone who once did this for a living, I know how long tires should take to install even with more finicky sizes. If I was a walk-in I would understand the wait, but there's no way you should be waiting nearly 3 hours for tires when you have an appointment. I don't blame the mechanic, except for the missing valve covers, I blame the service manager for overbooking and poor prioritizing of the cars coming in. Not happy with this experience and will likely not be coming back. Edit: Reply - This was a scheduled appointment in which they were told in advance the customer would be waiting for the car. At no point was I ever informed that it would be a three hour wait. I will add that I was also the only person in the waiting room so they clearly weren't trying to get other waiting customers out the door. This also isn't a normal shop or dealership. It's a tire shop where they only perform a handful of services. The fact that 3 hours is considered an 'acceptable' wait time tells me that there is complete chaos and disorder in the back caused by a service manager who doesn't know how to prioritize vehicles for efficiency nor do they know their mechanics abilities. I'm pretty sure if the dealership I worked for had a scheduled customer wait 3 hours for a full set of tires the service manager would be on thin ice at minimum. read more

I got a flat after hitting a pothole/car swallowing crater last night (Saturday). This is the only place I could find open on a Sunday, and was unsure of what to expect after reading the reviews. I had a perfectly fine experience. I ended up replacing both front tires, to keep wear even. The man checking me in also recommended an alignment, which I totally agreed I should do. He discounted the tires a little because of the added service. For the service I was there just over an hour. Mind you I arrived minutes after they opened, the wait time does seem to get longer as the day goes on. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because the waiting room was lacking. There were 6 seats, a coffee table, TV, and water cooler. With waiting people it could get a little crowded, and it's not well suited for people like me who might bring work to complete while waiting. About 1/2 mile from my home I picked up a bolt that resulted in a flat tire. I was able to get to the Beacon Mavis and there Chris and Shawn gave me excellent customer service. Considering it was 30 minutes before closing I was impressed with the polite and professional attitude of the staff. We discussed prices and longevity considering I have an 80 mile daily commute. They gave me several options but never pressured me towards one, just giving me the pros and cons of each. Once I made my choice the service was quick. Less than a month later I got another flat and returned to the Beacon shop. There Shawn ( sorry if I have the wrong spelling of your name) remembered me and set about getting a new tire on my car. I was so impressed given that he deals with so many people on a daily basis! Again the service was quick and professional. And given my tire was under warranty I only paid a small fee for mounting and balancing. I can not express how happy I am with the service at Beacon Mavis Tire. Because it was dragging so loudly, I know I needed assistance immediately. While in the office today, the technician pointed out how bald my tires were. Came for an oil change after being told on the phone it would take 20 minutes. An hour and a half later they finally seem to be working on it. Watched it go up and down on the lift 3 times, THEN they came in to ask for the wheel key for my tires. My truck almost fell off the side of the lift twice. While waiting, they lost 2 customers keys. Very bad business. I won't return. Update: after waiting almost 2 hours, they finally finished and refused to charge me because of the long wait. But I saw enough unpleasant practices that I'll probably stay away. read more

Had a great experience today. Right from the start I told the manager please no up selling during this rough time. He was very professional and trustworthy. I had my brakes done which I was only charged for labor because my brakes were under warranty which I totally forgot but the manager made sure to let me know. He also told me my battery wasn't running at where it should be so I called autozone and found out that's under warranty as well! He didn't have to do that. He even tried to get the BEST price for exhaust work which is pricey but he said he'll work with me! Brought my 2016 Audi A6 in for NYS inspection. I just bought the car. It's pristine! The interior is a bone white color. When the car was returned, there were black grease finger prints all over the drivers armrest. The drivers side door frame pillar is lined with cloth and was black! I complained and the counter guy came out with upholstery cleaner and attempted to clean it. The door pillar is all discolored now. I asked for the manager and was told he is in back, but will not come out to talk to me because he is "off the clock"! They offered me a free oil change for my inconvenience. REALLY?????? We're talking about a nearly new Audi, not an old beat up piece of crap car!!! I called Mavis Corporate and am awaiting a call back from the regional manager, Patrick King.
