I'm very hesitant about going to places like this because of an experience I had a few years ago at another chain, but over all I was impressed today with the work that was done. Had to get my tired plug and remounted back onto my car and it was less than $40. I wish I read these reviews before going a couple months back. My breaks were grinding and I brought my car in to have it fixed. Way too much money later I pick up my car. I drove it a very short distance down the road and during that time, it felt like they were still grinding at stops, but not as much. The break petal was also very squeaky, which it never has been before. I also noticed quickly that my car was shaking as I drove it.. which it was not doing when I dropped it off. The alignment was off and pulling very hard to the left (again, it was not doing this previously) AND to top it all off, my headlight was broken! I noticed my one headlight was not on while driving and pulled into a lot to check it out and it was broken and cracked! I called the shop the next day (they were closed already when I picked up my car). I explained to the manager everything and he apologize and told me to bring my car back in whenever and they would fix "everything." He said he would let the workers know/put it on my file so when I brought my car in, they would know I was not able to bring my car in until a couple days later due to my work schedule. Upon arriving, no one had any idea of my situation but they let me drop my car off and said they would take a look. They called me several hours later and asked me to come pick up my car and that it is all done. When I arrived, I asked what they fixed and they said "oh nothing was wrong with your car." I then explained the whole thing again and they said something along the lines of "we didn't notice any of the issues you are saying and we can't fix the headlight because the manager has to approve that. I call the manager again the next day and he is now saying that all of the stuff I am saying is not possible for his guys to have done. That those issues have nothing to do with the work they did. Then why when I dropped my car off it was not having any of these problems??? I asked about my car pulling left a lot and he said, they drove it and did not notice it. The manager then later says in the convo that they never drove it....The manager said all he could do was check the cameras for my headlight. I had to call back 4 times over the course of 3 weeks to get someone to look at the cameras. Every time I called there was an excuse as to why cameras were not looked at yet. He always told me he would call me and never did. Finally after me calling him again, he said "I checked the cameras and no one went near your headlight" then how was my headlight fine when I dropped it off and not when I picked it up? I had to drive around with a broken headlight for weeks because he told me they would fix it once looking at the cameras and that if I fixed it myself, they wouldn't reimburse me, unless they fixed it (which he wouldn't do until he looked at the cameras)..... I took my car in for brakes and a oil change in November, 2022 on City Line Ave. They broke my car! What would have been a 740.00 bill turned into a $3,000 repair. Mavis provided me a rent a car until they realized they could not fix my car. I took it to a AAA service center, they informed Mavis destroyed my car. It may not be able to be fixed. I usually don't give 5 stars but that's the service I received. They were busy and short staffed but that did not phase Jeremy at all. He was fixing tires, changing oil and answering phones. He was the front and back of the house, he was awesome. Dan had my car out earlier than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you Dan! Ok, I usually dont leave a review unless I really have to but I think this is necessary as this may save others money, time, and most of all your life I came to get brakes done, just brake pads. I was told the work should take about 45 mins. I got there and had been waiting about 2 hours before Katie walked up to me and said I need rotors done and it would cost about 500.00 than she quickly said she can do it for 400.00 i said oh no I dont have that I only need my pads changed for 89.99 Shes like ok, we talked for a little bit even made some jokes and she walks away. Now another hour passes and shes like " oh we have a problem, your caliber is messed up and brakes cant be done, another 180.00 is needed" im like i dont have that, shes like well what do you have. "Im like I have 100 bucks and shes like oh wow thats all u had why not say something?! Im like since when do I have to say what my available balance is She s looking sick. Shes like "oh the work has already been done." Im like what?!! Why? I didnt ask and why not just undo the work?!! Shes like oh my gosh, you only had 100.00 like, why didnt you been say that. Im like is she judging me for all that i have?!!!!! Than she s like give me a couple of mins and i will be right back She never comes back. now the gentlemen with the no teeth perhaps a manager worker or he acted like one comes to me and says "mam you will need to pay this amount, by the way you need back brakes and rotors done, you want us to continue or cease?" Im like dudeeee cease if I said I dont have more than 100.00 whyyyyyy would you do back brakes work and than ask if I want to continue This is where things gets heated. The no teeth guy that looks like ethan hawke says "no come back in a few days with the money or take them to court to get my car back?!!!!!!!!!!!" Whatttt that is unheard of!!!! Who keeps people cars!!!!! Then they had their lil gm manager call and spoke to me and he gave his little threats "oh pay me my 100 or you wont get your car!!" By this time i had agreed to pay the 100.00 and did but I felt like perhaps they placed my old brakes back on They finally give my keys after 1 hr of arguing I than start my car to pull out and theres a loud rattling noise a noise i DID NOT have before I came there!!! The noise was so loud everyone inside heard it So of course I went back in and asked what is that noise?!!!! They called police and asked for me to leave! The noise was never there before and its so loud and its a noise when the car is moving and not when you press the brakes i can assure you that they did something wrong or put my old brake pads back on and took my money I am at risk now driving my car because the noise sounds so bad and when I asked the worker to hear the noise (a mech worker) he agreed and got in my car the no teeth manager came to my car yelled at the worker to get out of my car and not listen. So clearly they are hiding something They didnt want to hear what I had to say, didnt want to hear the noise and was beyond rude, even after i paid This is car and i can get into a serious accident because there are no brakes working right or something else is wrong I putting this review to warn others if you try to just het brakes they will try to make you do more yell and make it clear its a no and just brake pads My life is at risk with how they returned my car I have a loud rattling sound which now could be a 500 job because I am sure they did something wrong And the fact that the worker told the other worker to get out of the car and he called police speaks volume I wish i would of came here and read the reviews they are all negative As a business you owe your customers especially if they pay but they have no morality!!! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! NEVER GOING BACK!!! I scheduled an inspection at the Mavis in Brookhaven online, then received a call about an hour before my appt. letting me know that I couldn't bring it in because they do not have anyone there that does inspections on Sundays. I rescheduled. I called the morning of to confirm my appt. was told that if I could leave it, it would be better - again no biggie. An hour prior to my pickup time, I call to make sure my car would be finished, which I was told yes. Upon arrival, I see my car still up on the lift being inspected. I waited there for over an hour for my car to be finished. Due to my breaks needing to be done, my car failed the safety inspection. I do have my own mechanic that works on my car, so I declined the almost $700 break job that the store clerk/manager offered and said I would bring it back once the breaks were finished. The store clerk/store "manager" told me that when I bring it back, it should be a quick in and out visit as they only need to recheck this one thing. Two days ago, I called the store to see if I can bring my car back to be re-inspected or rechecked after having my breaks done. The person I spoke with over the phone confirmed that I could come in this morning and that the visit to recheck the breaks should only take 30-45 minutes. Mind you, I asked specifically if I could wait there or if I would need to leave the car again. Upon my arrival today, I was asked to leave my car until the afternoon. I explained to this same clerk/manager that I was quoted a time to bring the car in and turnaround time for the re-inspection of the breaks, which his response was to SHRUG and tell me that I must have spoke with a call center and that they do not have time to do it at the moment. I said I cannot leave my car today as I only planned for a quick in and out visit like I was quoted over the phone and during my last visit. This clerk/manager mentions again that I must have spoke with a call center and told me that there was nothing he could do and that it wouldn't be ready that fast. I let him know that I can wait for the car for a while and asked WHEN he would be able to get it done- his response was "maybe around lunch time." Obviously this was not going to work either. After several minutes of going back and forth about the turnaround time- with attitude he says he MIGHT be able to get it done by about 10:30am. This was fine with me as it was about 9am by now. Still with attitude, the clerk/manager asks for my registration and insurance. I told him he himself took it a few days ago when I originally brought the car in for the inspection, his response was "WELL, I need it again." Clearly upset from the 20 minutes I had to go back and forth with this man, I go to walk out of the store to get my paperwork from the car but said "this is ridiculous" as I walked out after hearing the clerk/manager was mumbling under his breath and stating to the next customer "now that that is over, how can I help you" He then proceeded to come out through the garage door and confront me in the middle of the parking lot as I was walking back to the store. With a RAISED VOICE in the middle of the lot whole mechanics watched from the garage, he tells me that he was "trying to be respectful and that I don't need to have attitude with him." After a heated discussion in the lot, I asked for his managers name, he responded numerous times that he is the manager. I told this man, unless his name is MR MAVIS, he has a boss and I would like their name. Eventually he told me his bosses name is Ashley. I said thank you and let him know that I would be calling the corporate office. He then proceeds to say "now your car will take 5 hours" as he walks away. I said "excuse me??" He then walks back up to me (still in the lot) and asks if I want to leave the car or not. I said no, you just told me it will be finished around 10:30 which is fine, and now you are saying 5 hours, which is it? End result, this man goes back into the shop where I hear the mechanic ask what the confrontation was about, not sure what the "managers" response was to him because I walked into the store to wait. The mechanic that did the actual rechecking of my breaks ended up having my car done quickly - about 20 minutes. I have 4 cars in my household, none of which will be going back to this place. read more

Following up on previous review. Experienced extremely poor customer service----- 7+ hrs to install tires on a pre-scheduled job AND unable to get update / return call for info. I made a Yelp complaint AND called Mavis 800 number. In both cases, I was assured that I would be called regional manager Rick Perez to address. I NEVER received a call ( more than 3 weeks). UPSHOT: Customer service is extremely poor at this store AND this poor customer service extends up to the second tier of management. This was NOT a disaster for me. Merely extremely inconvenient. I would not recommend this company for state inspections or mechanical work. I took my car in for a state inspection, when I drove off the lot and down the street something snapped under the car. I took it back and they could not find anything wrong with my car. I took it to our mechanic and they found broken parts to my brakes. I'm not blaming Mavis for the issue this could be a coincidence but the fact they had my broken car on a lift snd couldn't find anything wrong with it. read more

I called for a quote on 4 new tires for my Toyota 4Runner, they have me a great final cost over the phone of $459, which was great! When I stopped by to have the tires installed, as I was being checked in they told me that my tires I was quoted were not good quality and I should upgrade. They gave me a "discount" on an upgraded set with a final cost of $789. With the discount only being $10 more than the 1st per tire quote, i then inquired about the difference in the total, which they then told me that was a full service quote and the quote over the phone was not. They also told me that Walmart and Costco tires are a less quality, event though the brand is the same. Michelin has a different/cheaper tire made for wholesale clubs.. not buying that and I don't like that approach. Especially since I have done business with Costco and know first hand how crazy they are with quality in products. Bottom line, I did not appreciate the inconsistency and especially not having a feeling of honesty with a definite up-sale attempt. I left, I will never go there and recommend to avoid this place. read more

Unfortunately i was forced to give this place a one star review when 0 is not available. Brought my car in to have four tires replaced. After having four tires put on my car 3 days later I get on the highway and my car is shaking violently all over. I return to them they tell me my control arm and axle on one side was bad and that was the problem. Being a women they probably thought they could take advantage of me. Which they did for another $850 dollars. Well guess what, the problem still was there. Completely frustrated i took my car to another trusted mechanic and I was informed they put on the wrong size tires on my car, all tires were really bad out of balance which two tires were 5oz out of balance which Im told is really bad. 3 out of 4 tires had "flat spots" in them and out of round causing even worse vibration. So this place has not only ripped me off once with crap tires and not balanced correctly but then ripped me off selling me a axle and control arm i did not need. My cousin is a lawyer and I plan on seeing my options on getting all my money back and i will make sure everyone i talk to I will explain my experience with this horrible business!! read more

If i could give this place zero stars, that's what they deserve. Tonight an elderly couple was out and got a flat, losing air quick. Made it to the closest shop, unfortunately it was Mavis, Brookhaven. The gentleman went in for assistance, clearly physically in need. He was refused help. He went to his car not knowing what he could do, his wife went in begging for help. Again no help, claiming they closed. All bay doors were open, all lights on, doors not locked, clearly OPEN. The garage employees stood around talking, no one assisted them. The gentleman finally reached a family member and he came and replaced the tire in 10 min, while the employees watched him. And today is one of the hottest days, too hot for elderly to be standing around. ILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. read more

Will never go to this Mavis again! Last week I had an appt for a car inspection @ 1130am. At 2pm, I asked about my car and someone told me that they're backed up on car inspection repairs!!!! Not my fault, its your fault for not having enough staff to cover your situation. I visited this place 3wks ago to have a tire patched, turned out I needed 2 tires patched. They bought me back to show me that they said i needed brakes. I told them I would see my mechanic thank you. 30mins later they bring me to the counter to pay for my tires. That was on a Thursday by the Saturday of the same week 2 days later, both tires were flat. Turns out they didn't use the right patch for a car they used the patches for a bike tire. Dishonest and unethical shop in brookehaven,,pa.I took it there for an oil change and to check frony brakes since they told me 3 or 4 months before i might need them in 6 months. They ended up selling me front and back brakes and rotors. And tried to talk me into buying shocks. None of this was found to be bad a few months earlier. A week later my front brakes from my 600.00 + bill were making a noise .And when i called on Saturday they said it would be Monday or Tuesday before they could check them out.I think when you fix and charge someone for something as important as brakes .That you should at least take a look.Me and possibly my attorney will contact cooperate and i,m contemplating legal action read more

I called and made an appointment for my car to get inspected. They said to drop off in the morning and they would call when finished. I arranged to have someone meet me there to take me home as I have two children and my husband is at work. I switch carseats and place my children in the other car. I go in and wait in line only to be told when I get to the front that the inspector called a personal day. I was really angry that they didn't have the decency to call their inspection appointments and let them know, but stuff happens and I rescheduled and called the day before to confirm. I arrive again and arrange a ride to meet me, go in and again and am told the inspector is not in and has called another personal day...I received no call and all the person said was sorry. It is just common courtesy and good business to call your appointments if something has changed and their appointment is canceled. I arranged for a ride and time without my car, just to be turned away without a second thought. I will not be coming here again. This place is an absolute dumpster fire. If you've ever had the feeling that you're in the wrong place, this is the place. I went there to get two front tires. I asked the girl how long it would take, she said about an hour. I can live with an hour even though two bays were open and the job should only take about ten minutes. Came back about two hours later and the car didn't even move from the parking spot. Got my keys and went to a family owned tire business in nearby Aston. Was in and out in 15 minutes. A total waste of time. Avoid this place like the plague. I give them another year and they'll be closed. read more

Took my car in for a scheduled appt. the appointment took an hour and 15 minutes longer than promised, they attempted to charge me 250$ more than the price quoted to my husband, and when I went to get in the car I realized THEY DAMAGED MY WHEEL WELL. Jake, the person who went to look at it, assured me I would get a call from the regional manager and it would be fixed. After three calls by my husband and me, we finally got someone. The regional manager said he couldn't find damage on a video of the install. We then had to pursue them again for a confirmation of this info and were told to get a lawyer. This place is awful. I wish I read those reviews before I ever went to this place. I need my car inspection done in this month that's why I did a google research and found a place nearby my house. I chose it bcz it's close and all I wanted to do is just anual car inspection. I got there around 12:30pm and I didn't make an appointment before I went there, so when they told me its gonna be 3-4hrs. I said its fine I will come back once they call me. I took a uber home after that, as soon as I got home, around 1pm, they called me and told me that I have to change the from break pad, battery and for safety I should change the water blade as well, otherwise I would fail the inspection. I asked em how long it gonna take, the answer was still 3-4 hrs. I know almost nothing about cars, I said okay again. Then I kept waiting until 5pm, no calls at all, they r closing at 6pm. Just in case they forgot about me I made a phone call. Bad news, could not pick it up until the nxt morning. I was about to give them a big thumbs down before I picked my car up. But they r super nice to me while I was picking up my car, so I changed my mind until last night. Guess what happened. A Raining night! I was driving at I95! The damn water blade at the driver's side suddenly ran off and fly away!!! I was like Wtf??? Almost cause me in to an accident!! I had to stop my car immediately and switch the water blade from the passenger side to drivers side so I could at least drive myself home. Anybody know if I can suit them? read more

Went to Mavis on Sunday, September 8, 2019 @ 11:00am. Tom was the front desk service person for the day with two technicians also working for the day. It was about four people waiting plus me. It was my turn n my First time at Mavis for service which I explained to Tom so I am unfamiliar with there services. Tom was very nice, explaining he was alone, got called in on his day off and only two out of five technicians showed up to work to (NFL kick-off season) which is probably why no one showed up today for work. Ok, enjoy your day asked for a Oil Change n I Also asked Tom does it come with fluid top off, coolant, window cleaner, etc and he said YES. Long story short, Oil change took about 1 1/2 to be completed. Prior to it be completed I reminded TOM TWICE TO TOP OFF FLUIDS ESPECIALLY COOLANT (which was very low). Done, paid, drives off to Delaware on I95S. Car lights come on saying NO OIL/NO COOLANT. I AM UPSET BECAUSE I ASKED YOU THREE TIMES. Calls back to Tom n now he's sending technician to me. WELL, TECH GETS THERE N NO COOLANT WAS ADDED. I THOUGHT THE OIL WASN'T BUT IT WAS; NO COOLANT. I AM FURIOUS. WELL, THE TECH TELLS ME, TOM SAID, NO COOLANT JUST CLOSE UP N GET HER OUT OF HERE. OK TOM NEVER NEVER MENTIONED THIS TO ME, JUST LET ME LEAVE THINKING MY CAR WAS FIXED. WOW, NO HONESTY N NO RESPECT. I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN THERE N I lWANT TO SPEAK WITH CORPORATE. I arrived here after calling and it took them from 11:32 to 2:30 to put on new back breaks and do a oil change. In the process tried to charge me 534.00 for two front axles and when I called around the axles alone was less then 100 dollars for both. I will never come back here again...! Went in for an oil change, which included filling fluids oil and air filters and all they did was top off my oil and change oil filter.. Customer service is nonexistent, you are referred to the local manger and in this case it was useless. No refund for the amount of time I had to sit and wait for them to attempt to fix the problems. Had brakes and rotors installed at Mavis. Within a week I felt a vibration when braking. Went back to Mavis several times until they could fit me in. They found no problem. I went to my dealer. They found that rotors were defective. Went back to Mavis, again several times. Finally got in and yes, the rotors were defective and they replaced them. I will never go to Mavis Discount tire again!! I had the WORST EXPERIENCE this whole week. I went in due to low air pressure in my rear right tire. They said there was a piece of metal in the tire and it needed to be replaced. They they had to order the tire so I left my car there overnight. I picked it up the next day without a problem. A day and a half later, the low pressure light went off again for the back right tire and my tire was basically flat. I bring the car back to Mavis and they claim that its the "air stem" that is leaking and that it's a simple fix and said that nothing was wrong with the tire. I stayed there for 3 HOURS while they fixed the air stem. The next morning, my rear right tire was flat AGAIN! I put a donut on and bring the tire up to the front desk. The manager at the store took one brief look and saw the piece of metal that was originally there! They replaced the WRONG TIRE the first time I brought it in (rear left tire)! Stayed there for another 2+ hours while all they had to do was but a new tire on the rear right side! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I dropped my car off to get it inspected and gave them my phone number. We have been here before and they have my husband's number listed but I stressed that he was at work and they should call me instead. Rather than calling me, they called my husband and he was unable to pick up. We discovered this when he came home a few hours later so we called back. They said there was a minor problem with finishing the inspection, which is not their fault. However, the car will need to go into the shop and we need to rent a car. Because they didn't call me at 11:30 in the morning to explain the issue, all of the local car rentals were closed. We now need to go all the way to the airport to pick up a rental, which is a hassle that was completely unnecessary. When we walked in to pick up the car, it was clear we were not the only ones having problems. A quick summary of some of the things that happened while we were there waiting: they tried to give the wrong keys to another customer repeatedly, they mixed up two cars and kept giving incorrect information to the customers, and they insisted someone's registration was out of date. (It wasn't.) When it was our turn to pay, I asked to speak to the manager. When he came out, I explained why we wouldn't be coming back and he insinuated that I was asking him to pay for my rental car, which I let him know was not true. He did not offer an apology and did not understand why I'd want to talk to him. He's the manager. It's a part of his job to hear about what is going wrong at the business. I told him we wouldn't be back and he said, "Because we made a mistake?" I said they seemed to be having a lot of problems and the employee who works at the check-in said, "You're not wrong about that." The manager told him to stop and I told him he was the one who said that they would call my number! I will never go back here, and you shouldn't either. They are a complete mess and no one seems to care about their customers. read more
