Went for a issue with my steering notified them what was going on and that I spoke to someone eles and wanted a second opinion they claimed they looked at the car wen I was watching and my car was never pulled in but gave me a call with what parts I needed smh then was told by a different person all I needed is a wheel alignment but that did not fix the problem then was told to take my car to a outside shop to get fixed because they do not provide the services I need and I have a 90 day warranty on something that did not fix the problem went back and waited 3 hours plus just to be told to go to another mavis maybe theses guys just don't want to work or maybe they just don't know what they are doing DONT GO HERE!!!!! I used to go to mavis alot, this was the last time. It was time for my brakes to be replaced. Every time they change brakes they also change the rotors.you are supposed to change the rotors every 4th-5th time you change brake pads. Rip Off Artists!!!! read more

I have been coming here for a while during the Vinnie days, but alas he is gone. I was unsure what to expect tbh. I preface this by saying the work that had to be done I have done myself in the pass. But no longer have the time to so. Work performed:A+ ================ Had my struts and rear/front brake pads replaced as well as my rear rotors. Car stops cleanly and no noise. Car has a smoother ride as well. Consultation: A+ =============== The workcrew manager kept it real and was honest in pointing out what had to be done for the most part. Other places would try and talk you into getting unnecessary work done and BS you. But what he said is what was needed that I was aware off minus my rear motors. After examining that for myself I agreed with his suggestion of getting those replaced. Final thoughts ============== They where done with my ride 30 minutes earlier than quoted. Compared to other mavis shops they had the best pricing. This place gets really busy. It's best to come early at 8am. The guy at the counter seemed a bit disconnected from customers at times. A lot peoples complaints are based off the wait time. Best advice is to come early and speak up. First come first serve. Appointments dont mean much.This shop will always try and cram and squeeze people. That's just sales. Over all I would recommend this place based on the work done, value, and honest consultation. My mom warned me about the lack of concern for the customer here. But this was close by, I was running out of time. I gave it a shot. Never again for me. My interaction at the front desk made Pep Boys look like 5 star service. It's true that I was highly annoyed because noone was at the counter when I walked in and I waited several minutes for someone to walk by. But I did not complain, did not raise my voice nor did snark at the service associate. I was spoken to in one word questions, interrupted while I replied. Then given ZERO information about what to expect after I handed over my keys. I was treated as if I had abused and offended the associate. Because what - I had an unhappy facial expression??? Mavis Elmont I needed 1(one) tire replaced. I went to Mavis tire in Elmont at hempstead turnpike and was told to come back in 2 days after the order for the tire, after 2:30 pm. In due date, I came back. I was made to wait over 1hour and a half, then the car was tajen on the lift. For over 1 hour, it just stayed there, with the hood up(! ), and the tire untouched. I then inquired with the front desk associate, " Chucky", who did not answer, and just had my car taken down from the lift, and taken out of the shop, with the old tire on!. At my inquiry, " Chucky" alleged " I am disrespectful", and kicked me out. Me, an old man, aged at least his father age, being " disrespectful" to a young kid! " Chucky" obviously abused his authority, also unprofessional and arrogant to Mavis client. I strongly suggest to Mavis to have" Chucky" followed a class how to deal with client, or better, move him from front desk duty. Obviously " Chucky" has a personality problem. This matter strongly negates and tarnishes the imafe of Mavis tire. read more

Went for tire change - charged me $10 for each valve but was never replaced. Had also a brake job done - They claimed they changed the pads and sensors but sensors were never replaced. They use the worst generic parts and charge for OEM parts. Very unprofessional manager - Charles- Do not go to this location unless you want to ruin your car. read more

I am grateful for the tire I desperately needed, but I am not grateful for the three hour wait to put one damn tire on my car! I never dreamed it would take so long to replace one tire. Oh wait, that is because it doesn't! Once my car was inside being worked on, the tire replacement took a total of 20 minutes! You would think that having waited so long just to have my car worked on would be because the place was swarming with customers. NOPE! I mean, it wasn't empty, but it was overcrowded. This location has at least six bays for cars to be worked on at the same time, yet some bays didn't show any movement. The absolute worse part was that one of the workers, I believe a mechanic or at least a shop worker, was a completely rude A-hole when trying to turn, from across traffic, into the parking lot. Granted the entrance was blocked due to the absurdly long gas lines; however, bullying your way in with your large vehicle isn't the way to go about things, unless of course you are an A-hole! Bottom line: I got my tired fixed. For this, I am grateful. I would not return here, all things considered. read more

Very satisfied. I've been a Pepboys regular customer and needed a new tire.. I was told it would take 5 days to get the tire. I went down the street to Mavis Discount Tire where I was met by the manager Andrew. He was extremely helpful and told me they would be able to have the tire for me the next morning. I bought two new ties from somewhere else the day before, and I work at Belmont Park, so the next morning when I was leaving the barn to go home, I saw my LF tire was flat. I hobbled over to Mavis and the guys took my car in and after a little while, they handed me the keys and said it was ready, that the valve stem had been damaged, which they replaced. They did not charge me ONE CENT. NOT. ONE CENT. Mind you, I did NOT purchase my tires from here, so I was shocked at how generous they were. As a woman, walking into a car repair place, you always expect to be taken advantage of, but you don't have to worry about it at this Mavis. They men here are excellent. Took my car here to have 4 tires changes, mounted and balanced. Figured it would take a while so i dropped it at 3:30pm and told them that i would return around 8:00pm to pick it up, which was reasonable since they were not busy at all and i had some errands to run. I got picked up by a friend and returned by 8:00pm. To my surprise the car was still parked outside with my old tires and a group of men standing around inside talking with nothing going on. I immediately go in and ask whats going on. They realized who i was and told me to either wait till 9:30pm for the car, an hour after they closed, or come back tomorrow. Due to the fact i had to take off a shift from work to do this i had no choice but to stay. 6 hrs later i had new tires and will definitely not be returning here. read more

Needed a new tire, which they provided at a reasonable price. They recommended new brake pads and rotors at the same time, which I declined at the time ($800?! No thank you.) Did the brakes myself that weekend, and while I agree my pads were probably close to the end of their life, the rotors did not need to be replaced - nowhere near. Turned, maybe, but certainly not replaced. Way to push the upsell, guys. If they recommend any services other than what you came for, go get a second opinion before paying for it. read more

They guys at the desk always have a smile and the guys in the shop are very attentive are quick to let you know what is needed for your car and answer any questions that you have with as much detail as needed so you understand the reason for the repair. Great customer service yet again. I got a flat tire and, when I got to Mavis, I realized it had already closed. But the guys saw that I came in with a flat. Unlike some places, they didn't just put on a donut and send me on my way. Instead, they tried to patch up the leaks to see if they could save me money before I had to spend money on a new tire. First & last time visiting this location & it was a bad experience. They do NOT honor appointments from the eCommerce programs such as Goodyear direct even if you have a confirmation. Took over 4 hours to have 4 tires installed when I had an appointment to begin with. I'm assuming because the eCommerce rates are cheaper & paid for in advance the staff doesn't care. In addition Mavis is marketed as having the top equipment for tire installation. The installater scratched every single one of my rims while installing the tires. There were marks from the bar they used to apply extra leverage to get the tires out slipping. Don't waste your time with this location, they will destroy your vehicle. read more

Horrible experience. They should fire the staff! Went in to get an inspection two hrs later I see my car just sitting there without tires. I get up and asked the guy what is going on. He says. Ohh yeah I was just going to tell you. Apparently I needed new break pads. Not a big deal, but no one informed me, just sitting there for two hrs. Tell him go ahead replace them. I kept an eye on my car. Since they just leave it there if something is wrong with it without telling the customer. They start to replace the break pads. Half hour in, my car is still up on the mount. Hour goes by, I again have to ask what is going on. The guy goes your piston blew out while removing the pads. It would of been nice if someone would informed me. Not sure if it was their fault or pistons blowing out is a common thing when changing pads. So now I need a new caliper. 3 hrs later waiting for the caliper to be installed. They finally tell me it's done. Total of 6 hrs waiting for an inspection, that could of been avoided if they just told me when something was wrong. At the end of the day I started feeling as if these mechanics had no clue to what they were doing. Again not one to complain but if something needs to get fixed on a car, that cost money. The customer should be informed right away. Never going back. Lost a customer for life. read more

Possible worse experience. It toke more than 3 hours to change two tires. You'd think that abundant wait would equate to a flawless job, however it was quite the opposite. Not only did they not balance my tires, they also fraudulently aligned my vehicle. I even heard the mechanic say he was just going to cut corners to get the wheel straight. My car became unaligned within a month or two. Absolutely ridiculous. I eventually ended up going to my dealer. read more

By far the worst mavis Tire shop you can goto iv called in and got a price quote for tires and they gave me a pretty good price and some discounts they said they could have them in the shop the next day so before I went over the next day I gave them a call to make sure they have the tires the guy said he didn't receive them and he can have them Wednesday so on Wednesday morning I call in he says that he has the tires when I asked about the price he said yes same price when I got over to the shop he gave me a whole different price claiming taxes wernt included with the price I got before witch doesn't makes sense because the guy explained all the details and said that including tax so he said I never gave you that other price you must have talked to my buddy that off today I asked if he can give him a call and ask what kinda deal he gave me and got nothing good out of that... read more

The guys here charge good prices for service and give some fair discounts. They are pretty thorough with their work, polite, attentive, and get the job done right in a decent time. To avoid an unnecessary trip or if you just can't wait for service, I would recommend calling ahead to make sure your tires are in the shop or to find out estimated times for servicing. They'll let you know what they can do, otherwise you may have to wait an hour or 2 if the shop is real busy. Again, they are very fair. read more

Terrible! Called first to get a pricing for two tires, they told me the price and type of tire. I had to tow my car there, once I got it in the garage they came back and told me the tires weren't there. Completely unorganized, their computers inventory said they were there when it really they weren't. They said the only other tires they had that would fit my car were double the price and wouldn't get me any discount. It took about 4 hours to change two tires and alignment. The staff was very lazy, took their time, talking and walking around. When I go to leave, my low tire pressure light is on. They tell me it will go off after a couple of miles. Didn't go off, took it back the next day. They did some adjustments, told me again it would go off after driving a few miles. Never did. Took it to another shop 5 mins away, told me they didn't do alignment properly and found a nail in my tire which they replaced. Light went off right away. I recommend this place to nobody. And I tell people not to go there. read more
