They said to come right over. The shop was clean. The workers were amazingly friendly. I waited 5 minutes. They took my car in and 15 minutes later my car tire was plugged and ready to go. Mavis Discount Tire - Outside - Tires Near Me - Farmingdale, New York

After unscrewing the cap from the right front wheel's valve stem of my 2006 Corvette, the top part of the stem completely sheared off into the cap (as shown in attached picture) causing the tire to go totally flat. Mind you it was part of a brand new OEM GM TPMS sensor which are rather expensive (I paid $130 for it off Amazon) that was installed at the 141 Route 110 Farmingdale, NY store on 6/29/2025 using my new very pricey Continental tires which I purchased from Mavis for over $1,100. That's what happens when the valve is overtightened in the valve stem causing it to be weakened. I tried unsuccessfully to get reimbursed for the damaged sensor by Eric from Consumer Solutions and also the Regional Manager Cesar. Absolutely disgraceful, Mavis should be ashamed of themselves!! Mavis discount tire quoted a price over the phone. Took my credit card than set up a reservation for me. I arrived at the farmingdale ny location on time. They didn't have my tire, despite being ordered.They told me to come back three and a half hours later. Mind you,air is gushing out of my tire. I return later and tell the manager with the tattoos and goatee to not drive my car in without air in the tire ,it will damage the rim. He says they don't have and air tank to fill it with. I purposely parked next to the outside air hose they have. They had me wait additional hour. Finally finish and charge me more than the quoted price. This shop is mismanaged. They are preforming fraud by selling one price than charging another without explanation. No additional parts or services where rendered. Horrible experience. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. I scheduled an inspection appointment at Mavis Tire in Farmingdale and received a phone call from a service representative confirming my appointment. I arrived on time, only to be told that the mechanic who handles inspections doesn't come in until 10:00 AM. The representative at the desk started justifying why the mechanic wasn't there and explained that there is only one mechanic for inspections, rather than offering an apology. If I didn't need the inspection so urgently, I would have left right then. The representative was rude and unprofessional, especially considering he wasn't even assisting me directly but was helping another customer. When I asked him to focus on the customer he was helping, he responded that he was already done, even though the customer was still standing in front of him with another customer behind. I then asked if I could return at 10:00 AM when the mechanic arrived, but I was told that I would lose my spot and still have to wait. This raises the question: What's the point of having an appointment? I understand delays if my appointment was later in the day, but to be told that if I leave and come back at 10:00 AM, the mechanic will still be working on a vehicle dropped off after mine, seems unreasonable. Truthfully, after this inspection is complete, I will no longer be utilizing the services of Mavis Tires. There are too many other mechanic shops to be aggravated by one company. The time it took to get the oil change, and my vehicle inspection done. My appointment was for 10 a.m. I actually arrived early which was around 9:40 a.m. Yes, it was found that my rear struts needed to be replaced. Which I only learned about it from Trevor I believe is his name around 12:15 or so. In addition to that, I was advised that the aluminum cuff. That goes on top of the actual rear strut was broken by mistake by the Mechanic working on my vehicle. Trevor did show me exactly what it was that was broken. He advised me that they would have to replace it at no charge to me. So, with that said the broken part needed to be picked up. Which Trevor did, during that time I went to the front area so I could see the other strut being replaced. Which I did and saw why the aluminum cuff may had gotten broken. I was just glad it was replaced and fixed. At around 12:50 p.m. made it a very long morning there at Mavis Discount Tire for me. I take it the mechanic working on my vehicle didn't appreciate my watching to see what was going on with my vehicle. Why I say that, is when the mechanic was done with my car. He drove my car up to the door that's closets to the garbage doors of the location. Dropped the the black pouch used to put the paperwork, and car keys on the back counter. At this point Trevor went to the black pouch to hand me my keys. That were not there, the mechanic left my key fob on my dashboard in my vehicle with my vehicle still running. There was nothing said to Trevor as to where my key Fob was. My thing is if these are the type of personality Mavis Discount Tire hire's to work on a long term customer's vehicle. That's a concern for as a woman and a business owner! Anyone could've taken off with my vehicle.. I really didn't appreciate it that at all. I could have made a big deal of the time it took. In addition, to the part that was broken and needed to be replaced. But I didn't! Yes, the Mechanic who worked on my vehicle needs further training on not getting personal. When a customer decides to watch what's going on with their vehicle. It's the customers right giving the almost 3 hours. Waiting for their vehicle, and then a part gets broken. Anyone in my shoes would do the very exact same thing. Was it because I'm a woman? In that case, I should've called my husband who was as work. It seems to be rare to get decent customer service these days and needed to write because we were absolutely blown away at the great service we received yesterday. We needed 4 new tires, wheel alignment and oil change. We were also purchasing through a complicated credit service. Alex went beyond the call of duty to help us and made the entire process simple. He answered every single question in the most courteous and professional manner. He even helped assist obtaining credit with the complicated service we were dealing with. I purchased tires from tire rack and the company set up an installation with Mavis Tire in Farmingdale, NY. Mavis representatives called my home three times to discuss my tire installation. They had no clue why I was getting service even though my tires were delivered to their shop the day before. They also would not install factory OEM tire sensors for my car. They said only their own tire sensors would work in my car at a cost of 180 dollars a tire. I arrived on my scheduled appointment and the representative told me to come back next week. Turned out he saved my truck because I had no transmission fluid and they know it leaks out so they put more fluid in and got me running okay. He didn't charge me and He even tried to get me approved for the flex pay so I can pay mavis weekly for any repairs . My tire pressure light was going off. I took my car to this Mavis to plug a tire I found a screw in. I was told upon viewing the tire that they found a second puncture and it was not repairable. They tried to sell me a new tire but I said no thank you and that I was coming to get me car. They returned my car with the donut on as they said my tire wouldn't hold air. I took my tire to my local shop and they tested it twice and found no problem and put it back on my car. Either the Mavis center plugged the old tire, planning to sell it back to me as new....well actually I can't come up with another explanation. Don't trust them!!! read more

This place SUCKS! Went in 3 months ago for a wheel alignment. They claimed OMG ITS REALLY BAD according to our fancy schmancy diagnostic test. I paid for it. Come back in a month to recheck/ readjust. 1 month later OMG really bad - but they couldnt print it out (no ink). They re-adjusted. Come back in a month. Just left an hour ago. OMG really bad! This time you have to pay. WTF? but they cant print out the findings (bad iink cartridge) FOH. I flipped on them! I first encountered Mavis Tire a few months ago when I was up in Queensbury NY, I had a flat tire, and was in need of a new tire. I went to the Mavis in Queensbury and they set me up they were fast, polite and professional and did not charge me a lot. Fast forward, about a week ago I brought 4 brand ne tires for my daughter's 2011 escape, I went to the local Mavis by me in Farmingdale NY. Joe behind the counter was awesome, he gave me a great price mounted balanced all, the car drives great. 3rd time not so lucky, I took my wife 2010 ford escape to the same Mavis in Farmingdale NY. I had them install 4 tires for me, when I left the low tire pressure light was on (this did not happen with my daughters car) Bill told me to just drive it and it would clear itself. Well I drive it all the way home and back to work the next day and it never cleared itself. I took it back, and Trevor was there, he checked it out and told me the the right front tire sensor was missing. I have had this car for almost 12 yrs and never had this issue and had many of tires put on. The day I dropped it off, there was no low pressure light on, my guess is whoever installed the tires forgot to put the sensor back in. I had no choice to go ahead and pay for a new sensor (which I should not have) I was up to this point very happy to deal with Mavis, I guess maybe I have to try a different Mavis who may be more honest. I gave Mavis as a whole 4 stars, unfortunately not this location I only give them 2 stars read more

Just picked up the car from STS and it was another great experience! I wish I did not have to take the car there in the first place but it makes it easier knowing that this place does honest work that i can count on to be done right the first time. As the other reviewer mentioned, there are cheaper mechanics but i feel better knowing that the work is being done right. My family has multiple cars that have been serviced by STS and we have never had an issue. What i like best is that take time to explain what wrong and they call you back when they promise they will. read more
