Do not go here if you are a woman. They are disgusting and extremely rude and will try and take advantage of you. I was going to get 4 new tires and a strut repair and I withdrew service due to upcharges once they saw I was a woman regardless of a previous quote and appointment, and continued to call me sweetie and told me to put my "daddy on the phone". They gave me a price on the phone of 145 a tire when I got there they wanted me to pay 400 because they didn't have the tire in stock. I was extremely specific on the phone with what I wanted and needed. They wasted my time I left work early. I would never recommend listening to these people on the phone or going to their shop. read more

I made an appointment to have four new tires put on. The appointment was for 2:00 and they said that it would take about 90 minutes. I returned a bit after the 90 minute mark and as I was pulling in saw the technician walk out and get in my car to pull it in to start the service . I went in to find out what was going on and was met with a rude staff member who said "I have no idea what time your appointment was and it doesn't really matter, we're busy today. " Not sure what the point of having an option to make an appointment in advance is then? Needless to say my car wasn't done for an hour and a half from that point which was a massive inconvenience (the reason I made an appointment in the first place) so I wasted half a day on what was a pretty straight forward service. Staff was just as rude at pickup. read more

Would've been nice if they asked me if they were aftermarket wheels when I made the appointment, since they apparently won't touch any non-OEM products. Discovered my tire was losing air quickly while driving on 90. Pulled off the highway and saw Mavis was luckily open (on a Sunday!) and close by. Fingers crossed, I called to see if they could fix my tire. They were able to quickly get me in and then on my way. I would highly recommend. Mavis saved our trip! read more

Went to this location today for the first time. After receiving an estimate for brake pads and rotors from the dealer, I called around and got an incredible price quote which was almost $400 lower. A detailed invoice was emailed to me to confirm what was said over the phone. I had previous experience with Mavis so I felt comfortable with the choice. When I arrived to drop off my truck I was greeted by an extremely polite, friendly and professional gentleman. Everything to be done was explained in detail. The work was estimated to be done in less than 2 hours. It was completed well before that. Everything was installed perfectly and the vehicle was ready for the road. I would recommend this location for any brake work that you need. I'll be going back soon for tires, which are also much cheaper than the dealer quoted. read more

I needed to get an oil change and have been busy, lucky for me (or so I thought) they were open on a Sunday. I stopped in to see if they could fit me in for an oil change (they could). They ask what I'm looking for and I say a standard oil change. "Ohh not fully synthetic?" is the response I receive from the attendant. I respond with "No I'm sure it takes a blend." and their response is "yeah if you only want to get 3,500 miles." After being told the 2021 F-150 HAS to have fully synthetic (which is basically a 40 dollar up charge). TLDR: mechanical stereotype at its best, avoid if you don't want unnecessary up charges. read more

They made me feel afraid, scared, and unsafe, twice, after I received my car back at two of the locations. I'd be VERY wary of dealing with this company in the Western New York Area. Look at their ratings on the BBB.org website. Better Business Bureau The hardware/products were fine... Tires, and an oil change, were all I probably needed. I had to take my car to my regular, small business mechanic, because I had more issues than when I took my car into the Hamburg store. Mavis, told me I had to take my car to the Lackawanna store to calibrate All Wheel Drive. I also had hazard lights come onto my dashboard, that were not there, when I took the car in, initially. I was never informed, nor cencented to, some of the repairs. $$$ There was almost no communication. Again, why did I get my vehichle back twice, with issues I did not have, prior to this. I needed brakes, as well... my small business mechanic, informed me... Mavis did not notice this?? The management at both stores, and mechanics, don't seem very open to honest communication. I'm not so sure they have ANY IDEA as to what they are doing. I will avoid Mavis in the future. read more

I had 4 new cooper tires installed on my Toyota Rav 4 at the Hamburg location. The manager tried to sell me a brake job I didn't need. Then he tried to sell me rear shocks for $300, which I also did not need. Then after they installed the new tires, the manager said one of my sensors was bad. He said the warning light was on when he pulled the vehicle in. The light was not on when I drove it to the shop. What most likely happened was the tech broke the sensor when he improperly installed the valve stems. which is why he didn't know of the defect until the new tires were installed on the vehicle. I was charged an extra $89 for the new sensor which seems overpriced. read more

Does not stand by their work or products. Replaced 4 tires and one of them was a major problem for a year. Brought back to the shop 3 times and it was never fixed. Same slow leak from the stem and they never replaced the faulty tire. Eventually they played the no warranty card on me after 10 months of the same issue. Asked that I buy 2 new tires despite the documented history of problems with the tire. read more

Went to Mavis on Tuesday to get my car looked at (I'm not a car person so I know nothing) they answered all my questions and called to update me on the status and what the actual problem was and the cost of repairs. The manager Corey was beyond helpful and really understanding of any situation. 10/10 on customer service skills! Will most definitely be taking my car back for repairs if/when needed! read more

I bought tires from Mavis last year. I discovered that I had flat tire this afternoon and filled it so that I could make to Mavis safely. I arrived about 3:30. They told me that they couldn't help me because they were too busy with appointments. These appointments were all new tire purchases. That said, they were okay with me leaving, without addressing the flat tire and with an increased probability that something would happen as a result. I guess that they were too concerned about new sales, than honoring the road hazard protection promise (that I purchased). To boot, this is the second time that this has happened. I had a flat tire this summer and Mavis was too busy then too. I had to take to the dealership and pay for the repair. You just lost a customer, Mavis! And you will likely provide the same poor service to the people who buy tires and road hazard protection because you're too busy to honor your promises once the sale has been made. Back to the dealership, I go, with the expectation that I will have to pay more money. Shameful. read more

Scam!!!! Buyer beware! Women beware!! Mavis Transit and Genessee Rd and Southwestern Rd Hamburg WNY have a scam going between the two. They are sending people with "Repaired" tires to each other and then trying to sell new tires and pocket the money that should have been covered under the warranty. This is unsafe, scary and illegal. NYS states that anything over 1/4 puncture cannot be patched. I had a 1 1/2 slice in my new tire top tread and Ali at the Transit rd location claimed he didn't have my tire that Hamburg did and that he would "patch" my tire to get me to the Hamburg location and that they would replace it there under my warranty. I went directly there and when I arrived the worker/ manager said that the new tire was 200.00 plus the new warranty cost. If the "patch" got me there that it was "fixed" and that it wasn't there problem!!! I could buy the tire or leave. Which you know they would have pocketed the money, claimed it under the warranty and resold my new but damaged tire!!! Corporate has been made aware and I'm waiting for a resolution!!!! read more

It was getting late on a Monday night and I needed to have a new battery for my Chevy Trax. I called and spoke with the manager Tim, he told me if I got over there right away they would take care of it before they closed. Even though it was late in the day they took care of me. I gave them 2 stars because the one mechanic seems to know what hes doing. Out of the two times I've been here I have had the absolute worst experience. Fool me once.... I should have known better than to come back. The first time I came they were replacing my tires and took a sledgehammer to it and they told me broke a sensor in the process. And didnt even replace it. Second, they are doing my rear brakes and they broke a bolt in half trying to get a caliper off. Therefore, forcing me to buy a new caliper. Then he tried to charge me $225 per caliper. States he will give me his managers discount for $175 a piece. I told him there was no way i would pay that being as they run around $80-$100 normally. I had to get a ride to come get me to go to 2 stores to pick up the set to avoid getting ripped off on a part I wasn't going to replace. Omfg now they are telling me they dont have bolts they need to do the job. read more

I am not one to write a bad review, but I can say I am extremely disappointed with this location and the treatment we received by MAVIS corporate. Several months ago we went in for a oil change and a tire rotation, They had our van for over 5 hours and when we drove it off the lot and into the middle of southwestern, the TIRE ROLLED OFF! They never secured our tire! The manager never called us to help us make things right and we reached out to corporate several times to NO AVAIL. They said they would fix the body damages which they did not. After this, we have had to replace the windshield from a crack due to impact, live with a loud vehicle due to a crack in the muffler, and now we learned that the wheel is STILL MISSING lugnuts and lugbolts! I have three small children and this is our only family vehicle - yet Mavis has done absolutely nothing to help resolve the complete demise of our vehicle. To make matters worse, they didn't even actually change the oil!!! Our oil was bone dry -- and they never even comped expenses. I won't highly recommend being very cautious pulling off the lot. I don't know how we are going to replace our vehicle. read more

Had an appointment yesterday to have 4 tires installed, got quote directly from corporate offices. After waiting over 2 hours for my tires to be installed, they told me they had issues with customers from earlier. My options were to wait another 1 1/2 hours, or come back the next day. I went back today, it took them 2 hours to do the job. Before they installed, I asked for the price to make sure it was correct, after the install, they charged me over $100 more than stated. I will never be a customer of Mavis again. read more
