The guy who called told me I could go to their location on McKinley if I wanted to get it done that day. However, there was a good bit of a wait, so I ended up going home and rebooking online for a weekday appointment. I got to my appointment about ten minutes early and when I walked in, the man at the counter asked me, "You here for an inspection?" and called me by name. I confirmed he was correct. It felt good to be expected. They took my car back immediately and were done very quickly. Their waiting area is comfortable and clean. Parking was easy. The location is convenient at the corner of Southwestern and Camp - easy in and out if you're making a right turn!

My car failed the NYS safety inspection here due to an issue with the brakes. I was told a brake…read moreline had leaked and soaked the rotors and pads, and that I would need to --at the minimum-- have one side on the rear changed completely (calipers, rotor, pads), and that they would only guarantee it if they did both sides. I was quoted ~$700 for that. Obviously not good news, but sometimes things break, so oh well! My dad does brakes, so I told them they could go ahead and fail it, and we'd take care of it then bring it back to pass the safety inspection. Days later when my dad got around to looking at it, there was no leak, everything was still in new condition, and the only issue was some air in the brake line, so we bled the brakes and took the car elsewhere for reinspection. It passed. I'm shocked at the dishonesty and lack of professional integrity, and will never come here again. $700 dollars is quite a lot to be willing to steal from someone.

Took it to my mechanic, they said its because the last technician had never put stuff inside the car back where it was supposed to. Their mistake cost me $700 down the road. On top of that mess, all of the employees are rude and snippy, even if you're being nice and asking a simple question. I do NOT reccomend this place at all. Save your car and money and go anywhere else.

I specifically sent my son to Schultz Auto, to have his car looked at, based on the pages and pages of positive reviews they share on "their" website. However, after leaving our car in their hands, it became clear that they do not share the full picture of everyone's experiences. I can honestly say that I would not recommend their services to anyone. As for my personal experience, we live out of state but my son attends college in the Hamburg area. He was experiencing an issue with his car and we couldn't get any recommendations on trustworthy local mechanics from other students/parents, so while we were researching mechanics, we suggested he take the car to the local Auto Zone to get a quick diagnostic. Auto Zone ran a diagnostic and shared with him the error code. They said he needed a new ignition coil and may want to have his spark plugs looked at/replaced. This was all occurring only a few weeks away from Thanksgiving break and knowing he had a 8 hour drive home, we needed to find a trustworthy local Machinic to replace the coil and/or plugs. We called Schultz Auto and explained the issue. We made an appointment for my son to drop off the car. After looking at the car, they sent us an absurd estimate. They estimated the repairs at $5,827.46. Keep in mind I only paid $8000 for the car when I bought it 3 years ago. This estimate included a full diagnostic charge of $244.96. This was clearly over inflated as my dealership only charges me $170 for a diagnostic. Also, this was not even necessary as we shared what the issue was and what we wanted them to look at and fix. Additionally, the quote was LOADED with unnecessary work including a brake job which, we just had brake work done 4 months earlier. At this point, we knew we were being taken advantage of. We were now stuck with a $244.96 (unnecessary) diagnostic charge, but we were trying to figure out if it would be better to just have my son try to drive or tow the car to a dealership or another mechanic. However, we still did not know where else to take the car. So we decided that we would just have Schultz change the spark plugs because we wanted to get the car back, and drivable, so that my son could make it home (safely) and we could take it to our mechanic, who by the way was floored by what this business was estimating. So we declined all the unnecessary work with the exception of replacing the plugs (no wires, nothing else, just plugs) which was $533.09 and when you add in the $244.96 diagnostic, taxes and fees, we were charged $808.50 to have spark plugs replaced. I feel completely taken advantage of because my son is a college student and we live out of state and I could not be there to help him with this. As a mom, it is extremely hard to send a kid off to another state to go to school. So you pray that there are good/honest people around him that will help him and treat him the way they would want someone to treat their kids. Being so far away, I feel completely helpless in these situations and I worry for other moms/parents in the same situation. The only thing I can do is share my story (which I am doing), so hopefully I can spare someone else from being taken advantage of.

For number three-hundred, I landed on West Herr Ford of Hamburg: ** We have had our trusty family trucker'ster, our much-loved 2012 Mazda 5, since we bought her brand new in 2011. ** But she had almost 130K miles, and was starting to give us some nagging issues. ** I literally cried, and cried hard, parting with my beloved Mazda 5. :-( #RIPMazda5 ** But West Herr Ford of Hamburg was there to soften the blow from losing my dearly departed. ** I started our West Herr journey entirely online, first confirming I could get the financing I wanted; the online application and communication was fast. ** Then we shopped around entirely online for a vehicle that met our requirements; the online filtering and saving was also very easy. ** I was in email communication with John Foster and Bill Pease, who were very fast and helpful in snagging the specific car we wanted to see, and setting up the test drive. ** Buying during pandemic times, Bill and John were also totally accommodating to keep our interactions as contact-free and sanitized as possible. ** When we decided to purchase the vehicle, Bill and John were also fantastic to hold it for another week for us, so we could make a larger down payment and improve our financing. ** Negotiations were all by phone and online as well; in the end we came to a fair price and great deal that met our financing needs, and got us the vehicle that met the needs of our family. ** When it was time to pay and sign, Bill and John were again very patient and accommodating to have all of the paperwork finalized, so we simply had to sign and pay our down payment. It was a lot of papers to sign, but they put us in a private sanitized room, and it did not take long. ** We left the vehicle for some additional work, and once that was done a few days later, a couple of very friendly West Herr guys delivered it right to our home. Thanks Dylan and Dylan's pick-up ride! ;-D ** And so far, so good, #KnockOnWood!, with our new-to-us sweet wheels! ** We went with a 2017 Chevy Equinox LT; we wanted a bit more car this time around than the Mazda 5, just enough to haul our pop-up camper or bikes. The 2.4L engine Equinox LT CUV was just right! ** She's a sweet, cool white paint job, which was perfect since I prefer a lighter color car ... but she's her own thing because she has a black pinstripe! I've been watching carefully at other white Chevy Equinox LTs on the road since we picked her, and have yet to see another with a black pinstripe. :-D So LOTS of thanks and appreciation to John, Bill, Dylan and other guy :-), and Eric Miller (the financing guy), for making this all happen for our fam'! I am grateful for your patience with my email questions, your fair dealings, your pandemic precautions, and all of your collective time and effort. Update: The nightmare truck from westherr.... Wouldn't pass inspection in NY as there was a rusted…read moreout hole in the frame, had it fixed for $800. Friend put additional $5 grand in repairs and sold it on fb marketplace for a lousy $3,500. to an out of state buyer where it would pass inspection with the welded frame. My opinion of westherr is even worse than in my initial review. They suck beyond belief. I drive by and give them a single finger salute. Can't understand how such an unethical rip off lying business can do so well. Its not what you know, it's whose hands you grease. Thieves. If I could leave a negative 5 stars I definitely would.

The first time we went to this location the first week of December 2018 to get our brake pads replaced we asked them to look over the car to be sure that it would be good for inspection since our inspection was due in January. We were told that one of our front brake calipers was frozen up and we explained how we had just had that caliper replaced at another shop a couple months prior and showed Paul the guy that told us it was frozen up the receipt and he remarked about how that's weird because our brake caliper wasn't orange and every one he's seen before has been orange and then he said "if you're sure you had it done though" we assured him we obviously were, paid for our brake job and before we left he assured us that our vehicle would have no trouble passing inspection. Fast forward to a few days back, we took our vehicle in for the inspection and it was failed due to a "bad wheel bearing". We told Paul that we had just had both wheel bearings replaced just after Thanksgiving. He then put down the shop that we had it done yet and questioned about whether they used new parts and then saying they must've over tightened it or under tightened it and that it definitely was bad and needed to be replaced. We didn't think that sounded right and when he did a demonstration of pulling on the tire to show us "the play in the wheel bearing" the tire didn't move and we asked him to show us the other one the same to compare and both tires looked the same when he pulled on them. He then said "listen to the noise of the other one though" and his demonstration was supposed to have shifted from a "look" to a "listen". The tire he referenced made minimal noise but we think that noise was most likely due to us needing a stabilizer bar that we knew we needed and we're having that done at a different shop. The different shop also said we passed inspection, there was nothing wrong with our wheel bearing and also wheel bearings are not a part of a New York State inspection to begin with so with the money saved by not allowing ourselves to be conned by Monro, we can get some other work done to our car by a reputable shop. read more

I was recently on a road trip and ended up with a flat tire in Hamburg, NY. I was renting a SUV from Enterprise and was told to take the vehicle to Monroe. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a gentleman named Dave who worked at the shop. He immediately assisted me and confirmed that my tire had a screw in it and needed to be replaced. Dave called Enterprise and had a new tire delivered and installed within an hour. He was courteous, professional and had exceptional customer service skills. We were traveling from Michigan and partway through our days travel, an engine system failure notice came on in our vehicle. I called multiple places to see if they could run a diagnostic to make sure it wasn't something that immediately needed to be serviced, and was told by everyone that they were too busy. I called Monro and talked to James. He told me all their appointments were full, but to stop on by and they would hook it up to make sure nothing critical came up. I told him how far out we were. Simply amazing! My wife and I traveled to Hamburg for my Dad's 77th bday party. It was time to go home to DC and my car wouldn't start. I went to Autozone and discovered it wasn't the battery. I then had my Jeep towed to Monroe and they worked beyond their store hours to get me and my wife home.... And this was in the evening on a Sunday! We all have had experiences where a repair shop tries to up sell you into a few grand. West herr has raked me over the coals many times. However, Omar and this Monroe are the BEST. After inspecting my vehicle, I was presented with an estimate of approximately $4,500 in repairs, not including the cost of replacing all four tires. The estimate didn't seem right to me, so I declined the repairs and went up to pick up my car. I watched the technicians pull my vehicle out of the garage following the oil change, paid my bill, and drove about 30 miles directly to my regular mechanic for a second opinion. I'm incredibly glad I did. After a thorough inspection, my mechanic determined that the extensive repairs recommended by Neighborhood Car Care - Elma were not needed. The only repair my vehicle actually needed was a new set of tires because of the damaged sidewall. Even more concerning, he found blowback oil from an improperly installed oil filter upon lifting the car to do an inspection when I arrived. He explained that the oil filter and O-ring had not been installed correctly during the oil change that had just been completed. He corrected the issue, and I was fortunate he caught it when he did. Left uncorrected, it could have resulted in a catastrophic engine failure. I called Neighborhood Car Care - Elma immediately and explained what my mechanic had found. They apologized and stated they would refund the cost of the oil change. Between the approximately $4,500 repair estimate (before tires) for repairs that my mechanic determined were unnecessary and an improperly installed oil filter on a routine oil change, I have no confidence in the quality of the work performed. A routine oil change should be just that--routine. Based on my experience, I believe it's better to steer clear.

The car is a 2003 Nissan 350z. You'd be a sucker to come here and spend money for car maintenance. I'd never spend this much on such coolant or these parts but hands were tied and had to tow to the nearest shop I knew...However I'll be towing anywhere but here from here on out. Icing on the cake would be the scratches on my hood discovered when picking up my car. This is how you run business?

I went to the One stop on Brighton after this happened and they didnt have time to do the work I needed.The guy at Brighton called the One stop on Niagara Falls boulevard to ask if they could take my car today. One stop on the Boulvevard said yes, so I drove over .The guy was very helpful to me. I was in for an alignment after replacing a bad ball joint a few days earlier. My steering was way off because of the ball joint issue. One stop on the Boulevard was able to do my alignment within about 10 minutes of my arriving and I was out the door 45 mis later. I saw the guy who did the work take the car for a test drive after, made me feel better .. My steering being off was a concern to me Very good service , nice people..
