Terrible diagnostic work and accountability. I had new tires installed here, and immediately after, one tire started losing air. I brought it back to Mavis, but they told me they couldn't find any issues and sent me away. I took it to Goodyear the very next day, and they instantly found a torn TPMS valve stem. This was a pretty simple inexpensive fix. This leak happened right after Mavis put the tire on. Save your time and go somewhere competent. read more

Went there yesterday for tire repair and they told me the screw was too close to tire shoulder to repair and wanted to charge me for over $900 for 4 new tires because I have 4 wheel drive car. Been coming to this location for quite some time now, we've had tires put on almost all of our vehicles plus on our work van, they have done many oil changes and also have done routine work on most of them. I had a great experience here. I ran over a nail and it was in a non repairable area. I came here after another shop Who couldn't get my tire. The girl at the front Christie was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to order my tire and have it by Monday. I wanted the same exact one that was already on my truck..... I got the nail Friday night. It was a little wait when I got there (they are very busy there) but I didn't stick around. I came back and my car was ready shortly after. Made a reservation online to get a car inspection. However after going into the store the worker at the front had said that he wasn't able to take us after trying really hard to squeeze us in for the day. Avoid at all cost. Was under the impression that the local Mavis store was the store I was speaking to when the actual person was the corporate location. I had asked what the wait time was for tires and they replied , no wait at all work can be done asap. I go up and the local store in Magnolia Nj says its a 3-4 hour wait. I said I just spoke to someone and they said your call goes to corporate office and they misinform customer's all the time. I said you just lost a sale of 4 tires I will go somewhere else. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would! I have always gave this place the benefit of the doubt but after today I am done! I had tires put on and after I had a wheel alignment and rotation 5 months later I ended up at the dealer with a rear banging noise which turned out to be the caster bolt being loose from Mavis cost me almost $200. It is now not even 30,000 miles on my tires and they are dry rotted and the dealer told me they are beat. I went in the magnolia location and the assistant manager there I didn't have a chance to get his name didn't even ask for my info automatically said I need to contact the tire manufacturer. Told me they only cover nails and such. I asked if he could call them being I'm a customer and they put the tires on. He told me he couldn't help me and I asked for managers above him and he couldn't even help me with that! He threatened to kick me out and call the cops on me! I have taken multiple vehicles to this location including my 3 other cars and my in-laws vehicles! They don't want to help you just want to take your money and the assistant manager is police happy and wants to call the cops when confronted! So I got no where going in there! I will never take any of my vehicles there again! If there was something that they could improve it would be customer service . I believe they are putting junk tires on peoples cars then confronted and blaming the manufacturer. He didn't want to help he just wanted to get rid of me! 0 stars here! read more

I came out of work to find my tire was flat, and I had an appointment in 2 hours. I remembered that there was a tire place around the corner. As soon as I walked in, I was politely greeted by the service desk associate and one of the technicians. I told them my situation, and prepared to purchase a new tire. She told me they would check first to see if it could be patched, and the technician immediately took my car back. Less than 30 minutes later, she showed me the nail that was in my tire, and told me that it was able to be patched and was ready! They did not have the tires I ordered at my appointment even though these tires were listed as "in stock" on the website when I ordered. Although there was a snowstorm, informing me they were out of stock would have been the appropriate thing to do (and there were multiple weekdays before the storm that they could have been delivered. As I needed tires and was already there, I asked about tires they had available. I was offered a different tire and verbally told it had a rebate. This tire is inferior AND more expensive but I decided to move forward as I needed tires and based on the information I was given, the cost difference small. I learned upon researching at home, it is not eligible for the rebate which is contrary to what I was told at the time. Also, Mavis claims to have a 10% "essential worker discount", but refused to apply it to my order. Their own website does not list any exclusions for this discount. They gave me $10 off instead. Then, when I went to pay, they told me I could get $10 off if I left a good review which is a concerning tactic for the consumer (it was also the same $10 off). I called Mavis customer service and they claimed I could receive the essential worker discount at this time but only if I drove back to the store. They state that I received a discount on my tires and that is why I wasn't initially eligible - there is no discount on my invoice, nor does the price on mavistire.com show a large premium to what I paid which indicates that this is false. These inferior tires compared to the ones I had ordered on the web ended up costing $120 more. This was a horrible experience and I will encourage everybody I know to avoid the entire chain. read more

I had 4 brand new tires replaced at this Mavis location on 8/14/2021 for a total of $752.17. On 12/11/2021, I took the car back to the same Marvis location because the low flat tire warning light came on. I said that I was hearing noise from the left tire before the light came on. They looked over the car and recommended items that I needed: Wiper blade, battery, lower control arms, rear brakes pads/rotor/flush (per history record printed out). They also told me that the noise I was hearing was coming from the timing chain. I told them that I did a timing chain work on the Volvo @145K. I told them to fix the low tire pressure issue and thank you for pointing out all the other issues. I will make an appointment to bring the car when I am ready to work on each item. They added air to the tires and checked the pressure for no charge. I left and as soon as I drove away, I started hearing high peach sound coming from the engine as if the belt was too tight. I returned back to point out that the sound was not there when I brought the car in. This new noise just started today. Could you check the car or drive around, and I will point out what am hearing? The Manager said OK and took the key from me and told me it will be a while before they can get to it. I offered to bring it back the following day instead. On 12/12/2021, I returned to the same Marvis location only to be confronted by the receptionist that writes the work order. First, we went back and forth on whether the noise I complained about had anything to do with timing chain diagnosis. Next, it escalated into where they considered my behavior unruly that they will call the Police on me. Well, here is the bottom line. I will never take my car to that Marvis location. I think the whole establishment is too aggressive in marketing and trying to sell customers to repairs that may not be necessarily due. They did the same to on my Mazda and later I took it to my personal mechanic who told me that I don't need all the items recommended by the Marvis Discount Tire at 201 S. White Horse pike, Magnolia, NJ 08049. I write this review not to spite Marvis Discount Tires in general. Afterall, I have been using them to fix all my three cars at their NY locations. Updating my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars based on an unfortunate recent experience. I dropped off four wheels and four new tires to be mounted and balanced after calling the day before to set up an appointment, and explaining the rather uncommon tire size I have (245/40r15). When I arrived the receptionist told me I didn't have any appointment but she'd be able to squeeze me in to have my tires mounted and balanced by the end of the day. This was a little before noon, and I'd be able to pick up my order before 5pm. Okay no problem I thought. Around 3:30pm I called to check on my tires, and I was told they weren't done yet but assured again they would be done before 5 o'clock. At 4:45 PM I still hadn't gotten a call, so I decided to just drive over there assuming they would be done and the receptionist just hadn't had the time to call me back yet. As I pulled up I could see my tires and wheels still sitting in the lobby right where I left them, unmounted, and the receptionist walking out of the door for the day. I never got a call to explain why which was pretty unprofessional, and ended up talking to one of the techs who said they didn't have the machine to mount these tires. (Really? All you do is tires!). Anyway, I wasted a day driving these things back and forth and got little communication from the reception team. The next day I went to Tire Corral and they had me in and out the door in 30 minutes with a smile. I'll be going there from now on. read more

I went to this location for the first time. I needed 4 new tires. I called the number at their location and the first time I called, I spoke to Rob and I had to call back since I had to cancel an appointment in order to have the appointment today and I spoke to Jason. When I went to the store, I asked for Jason. The manager told me there is no Jason at this location and I explained that I spoke to him on the phone and was told he would be there when I arrived. The manager told me they are at a call center in New York and are not allowed to tell you that so they tell you they work at the store! That's unacceptable in my opinion. I got the 4 tires since the ones on the car were cracked. They were 5 years old so it was time to get new tires. The service was good. I waited about 2 hours which was fine with me. While my car was being serviced, I was called into the shop and another employee spoke to me about my battery. He said its leaking and there was white acid on the top of the battery. He also said there is a crack but I did not see one. When the time came to pay for the services, (I also got road hazard for $40.00) the manager told me my rear brakes were at 20% left, and that I need new struts. He stated he recommended this on the mileage I had on the car which was at the time 113,268 miles. Its a 2008 Nissan. I never had any major issues with the car since I had it. Before the service was started, the manager explained that I should get new seals for the TPMS valves on each tire. I agreed to that. I did see some employees not wearing a mask. Anyway, when it was time to pay, I asked how the battery test was and he said I need a new one. I asked for the paper readout and he shrugged his shoulders, as if he didn't have it. I like to keep those for my records. The service I got today did not include alignment and I did not have that done since it was too expensive at the time. I took my car to my own mechanic and he explained a few things to me. He looked at my rear brakes and said they are fine and can last until the end of the year and are more than 20% left. My struts are fine. In regard to the battery, he cleaned the battery, wiped off the white acid and he did not see any leaks or cracks. Since the battery was installed in 2016, I will be getting a new one soon even though he said I don't need one right now. I felt pressured to get more stuff that I dont need. I called corporate headquarters 3/4/21 and someone told me he will have the regional manager call me back today and I waited all day and no one called so one star less. Really bad customer service. 3/5/21 still never got a call from regional manager as promised yesterday so one star less. Again not good at getting back to people because all they care is about money and stiffing people. 3/18: I recently spoke to the regional manager and I stand by my review. I went to my own mechanic and he said my battery is not cracked or leaking as I was told at Mavis. No need for new struts now and my rear brakes are fine and do not need replacement. As my mechanic said they are trying to sell things that is not needed because they get commission at times. I got a readout of my battery today from my mechanic as I requested. The staff at Mavis refused to give me a printed readout since they knew my battery was still good but wanted me to have it replaced. The readout pointed to good, absolutely no issues with loaded n load on the battery. He (my mechanic) laughed when I told them what I was told needed to be replaced and told him the regional manager said struts are holding up a 3,000 pound motor. He said my motor is not 3,000 n they are trying to scare me and j ust trying to make money off me. I'm so happy I have a very honest and professional mechanic. read more

Yesterday I had a flat installed my spare and brought the tire to the mavis in Magnolia NJ because they had the matching goodyear tire. A few minutes after leaving the tire pressure monitoring problem light returned - tried resetting it multiple times light keeps returning. Stopped at an air pump this morning new tire was at 49psi - door sticker says 33psi front, 32psi rear. I reset it and light is still returning - this is not the normal low tire light but an issue with the system message that was not there prior. I returned to the location the manager goes out into the shop talks to the tech and the tech just says yeah they dont know take it to the dealer. they never tried to look at the vehicle or anything just couldnt be bothered. So now I have to make an appointment at the dealer to have a light reset that could have possibly been done by the mavis but they didn't even make an attempt. read more

Call to see if they fixed mufflers. The gentleman told me they did and that I could come in tomorrow or the following day at 11 AM. Went there the following day they had no knowledge of my appointment. Took a look at my vehicle and gave me a list of about 50 things wrong with my car. Told me it would only take 20 minutes, 45 minutes later the gentleman was still on the phone arguing with a I'm guessing was his girlfriend. Told me I needed windshield wipers which were replaced a week prior and also new tires which were brand new. Please be aware of the shop they will try to rip you off if you don't know what you're doing. Also they don't fix mufflers! read more
