What a terrific idea...we had never had pics sent to us while our vehicle was being worked on. Brilliant! The local auto conglomerate had told us a few months back that our rear brakes were 2/32 and needed immediate replacement. While rotating our tires today, Fadely's notes that the rear brake pads (both sides, inner and outer) in fact measure 7/32. Wow! One guess what we think of that other shop (dealership) now. The cherry on top of the sundae was our bill was about $25 less than quoted. What an awesome experience we had with Brett Fadely! Quality work, an honest price, even a thorough explanation when picking up our vehicle. A-plus!

This was my second visit to this shop. I had a good experience with my inspection last year, and I…read morewould absolutely make that known if I had received the same level of service this time. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I recently brought my 2008 vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. Immediately after receiving it back, the shifter felt rough and misaligned in a way it had not before the service, and it gets stuck. Because the issue appeared immediately after the vehicle had been in their care, I contacted the shop and reasonably expected them to inspect it as a courtesy before asking me to pay approximately $120 for a diagnostic evaluation, which they required. I was not demanding that the shop automatically pay for a repair, nor did I expect them to diagnose an unrelated shifter problem during an oil change. I simply wanted them to investigate a new issue that appeared immediately after their service and determine whether it could have resulted from how the vehicle was handled under their care. Instead, the owner's response focused on the vehicle's age, mileage, unrelated recommended maintenance, and prior hood damage from a deer accident that occurred in 2018. None of those things explain why the shifter suddenly felt different immediately after the service. The response also unfairly suggested that I was only trying to obtain a free repair and refused to consider any other possibility. That misrepresents both my concern and my intentions. I had planned to return for the other recommended services, including the state inspection, until this happened. Had the shop simply inspected the concern and handled the situation professionally, my review could have been very different. I have no problem acknowledging good service when I receive it, as shown by the fact that I returned after my first visit. This was my experience with Witmer Auto. Rather than investigating a legitimate concern that arose immediately after service, the business shifted the focus toward unrelated issues and made assumptions about my motives. I will not be returning and believe other customers should be aware of how concerns may be handled when something appears wrong after service. Update: After I raised my concerns, the business contacted me by voicemail at approximately 5:07 p.m., after closing. Later that night, at approximately 11:55 p.m., the owner sent me a private Yelp message accusing me of planning to "defame" the business, stating that I was "making a fool" of myself, and telling me, "Call me tomorrow or my attorney will be calling you." I found this late-night communication hostile and intimidating, and it further reinforced my decision not to return or negotiate.

I brought my car in late May to get my rear driver's side tire replaced. When I later took my car to the dealership for a routine inspection, it failed -- because the tire Mavis installed was a street tire, while all three of my other tires were off-road tires. Mismatched tire types across an AWD vehicle is a serious issue, and I was specifically told at Mavis that it would not cause any damage to my AWD system. That assurance turned out to be false: the mismatch caused the drivetrain to bind, and my rear differential gears ground down from the offset, resulting in real mechanical damage. I ended up having to replace all four tires and now have to deal with repairing the differential damage -- an expense and inconvenience that should never have happened if the correct tire had been installed the first time, or if I'd been given accurate information about the risk.

My wife and I will never return. I know our little dollars we spend for car repairs will not hurt them but I feel as a consumer I have a right to fair and honest service, if it was going take longer and they were short staff, I should have been informed. I schedule the appointment with the basis that there would be more than one person working and that was not the case.
