Bad service, No respect for clients and their time. Had an appointment. Arrived on time and no more cars were there. Was told to come back in an hour but when I returned, no work was done to my car. Now there were 5 people ahead of me. Person just lied to my face. I need new tires for my other car and I will use Costco or any other company. WORST TIRE CENTER EVER I just went to Mavis this morning for an emergency - my NYS inspection was due. So I called and made an appointment, they said to bring it in asap and that I could wait for it, it would be quick. So I go in and right away its in and on the lift. I'm thinking great! This will be quick! I watch as they tech in the bay goes about taking 3 out of 4 tires off the car. He zips off the lugs with the impact gun and bounces the tires to the floor and lets them roll and crash onto the ground. Ummm ok. So then I sit for 30 minutes and watch my car on the lift. Nothing going on. I go to the front desk and ask what's going on? The woman behind the counter gruffly answers me "i'm sorry, I am not an NYS inspection tech, you will need to ask the floor manager the status of your car" then goes back to eating and drinking her breakfast. "Ok, can you point me to him?" I go in the bay and ask him whats going on. He brings me over to my car and tells me it passes inspection but i'll need to address the rear brakes sometime "soon." And the tires are a bit "choppy" but it still passes inspection. Good I say, thank you I don't have the $ to do anything else today, I just need the inspection. I go back into the waiting room and wait another 30 minutes watching my car on the lift with 3/4 of the tires off....nothing going on. Back to the front desk. Now another cashier comes up to me and says "hey did they discuss your rear brakes with you?" Yes I say. "well they are tissue paper thin, they need to be done" he says. Ummm ok, the floor manager just told me they are down a bit and need to be addressed sometime soon. "well, they are really thin, we can do them today...oh and all your tires are choppy, did he tell you that? That means your rear shocks are bad..." At this I lost my patience. I asked him how the floor manager can pass a car if I'm using tissue paper to stop!? The guy walked away. Another 20 minutes of watching my car on the lift with 3 out of 4 tires off, they finally put them all back on, lower the car and due the actually emissions inspection that takes 5 mins. Not before they bang my door into the lift pillar (see photo) and take their merry time about putting everything back together. So I pay the $37 inspection fee and go to get my car back. The tech whose getting out of the car once again mentions the brakes, shocks and tires to me. I get in and realize that the contents of the middle console of my car is spread all over the passenger seat. Why I have no idea. I check that everything is there and got the hell out of there. Got a flat tire on the same wheel I had changed six months prior. The cause of the flat was a screw that had gotten into the wheel and under the tire. The only way that could have happened was when it was being changed. In effect, either by incompetence or dishonesty (both apply here) my tire blew as a result of getting it fixed at Mavis. They then tried to see me another tire which I had stupidly believed I needed the previous time. They lie, cheat and will take advantage of you. read more

I've been going to these guys (and Debbie) for over 20 years....no matter what car I owned at the time. Tires are a lay-up here...their prices always beat the dealer and their service can't be beaten. They excel at the tricky stuff too.....I own a mid 70's classic british car and I have trusted them to keep that finicky car on the road several times...always to excellent results. Joe, Dan, John....where do you go these days where your mechanic knows you....and you them....by first names? They know what being a local business is all about and put customers first everytime. UPDATE - Why bother sending an automated reply to a negative review if nobody is going to follow up on the auto generated reply? I was told by the person responding to my review that my case was going to be escalated to a regional manager. I have not hear from anyone. But when I took the car to another locally owned garage, I was informed that another repair done by Mavis would need to be redone as the parts used by Mavis were of such inferior quality. For anyone in the Northern Westchester area, I would highly recommend you check out AMB Auto Repair instead. It will save you a lot of money and headache. read more

Very bad customer services. I changed my Odyssey front/back brake pads and rotors here at mavis discount tire @ Mount Kisco last year, and in just one year the steering wheel shakes whenever you brake due to warped rotors. This is obviously a quality/installation issue, as anyone knows new rotors will last 50,000~70,000 miles. The manager/owner of the store refused to take any responsibility or admit their mistakes, claiming it is my fault because the car was driven10,000 miles in one year. Shame on Mavis Discount Tire @ Mount Kisco. Will never come back again. read more

BEWARE. this place is nothing more than a scam all the way. I brought my care in for new tires. OMG they tell me it's a miracle you didn't have an accident. Your struts are shot. I told them just to do new tires. Took the car to Suburu. Guess what? Absolutely nothing wrong with the struts. Same story with the brakes, when my son brought his car in. Dishonest as can be. Mavis Mount Kisco provides amazing service. Before reading this review, read my review of the Yorktown Heights location on Kear St. all of this occurred on the same day today 3/13/2022. I called And spoke with Debbie while sitting in my car at the YH location. I shared with her what I just experienced and Debbie was once again consistent with her service and communication. We have dealt with her and Mavis MK before with our other vehicles. Debbie apologized and got right to starting up my ticket and advising me that she is simultaneously checking if they have my oil change parts (filter, etc) in stock. She asked me if I got quoted a price at YH and I said "Uhh, No. They didn't even say Hi to me or acknowledge me." She apologized again and went on with it. I immediately drove from YH Mavis to MK Mavis. Debbie was helping gentleman. She couldn't have known it was me walking in the door, BUT what did she do? She actually looked at me, smiled and ACKNOWLEDGED me! I waited less than a minute and said who I was and had great conversation, not bashing the YH location but just provided great service. I end up getting a call from a gentleman because I asked about the tires I planned to order from their site and gave me appropriate suggestions and even told me to make sure to get my oil pan looked at because it needed to be changed (not something Mavis does) but I appreciated him telling me what to be aware of. Discussed the process for ordering my tires and I also asked to have them change my windshield wipers if they had it in stock for my car. They did. Came back for my car and paid $202 for the service today. I was satisfied. I will be back here for them to install the tires I'll be ordering in the next few weeks under the "Appointment Special" on the Mavis site. I bought all my tires here for 2 cars so when one tire got a slow leak I went to them for promised free repair. Was told it was the pressure indicator transmitter leaking (not on tire warranty) so they replaced it, $70. This transmitter failed to transmit after 2 days. This required a trip to the Toyota dealer to get another new transmitter and the system reprogrammed, $250. Disappointed in the shoddy product from Mavis. Update: Mavis contacted me and issued a full refund. Tony the manager at this location did the right thing. read more

This is a great place with kind, attentive, knowledgeable service! I have been going to Mavis Tires Mount Kisco for years for tires for my 2005 VW Golf. I have bought both all weather tires and snow tires from them, and have always been satisfied. They have always given me an excellent price. I also go twice a year for the seasonal change of tires, and am always taken care of professionally and courteously. Dan, the manager, is very kind and thoughtful and goes out of his way to attend to my every need. I drive 40 minutes one way just to come to this Mavis Tires because of the excellent care and customer service. I highly recommend Mavis Tires of Mt. Kisco to anyone I meet! read more

I booked my appointment on Monday for the next Saturday and I got the confirmation email with all the details like price etc.... the next day they called me to confirm my appointment and I was like wow they're on point! Now I'm here on time and guess what! Ah ur tire isn't here!! Nobody cares about explaining why but just blame the system and the computer!!!!! They didn't even offer a different brand or anything! As usual, I always do my homework and called ahead to confirm pricing. The person I spoke to said they will match the discounted price I usually get at another Mavis location and that all the info will be noted under my name and tel # when I get there. When I got there, not only did they not honor the discounted price, they also wanted to charge me another fee for service that I didn't need. I'm a car guy and I know exactly what needed to be done. As I was waiting, one lady in front of me was complaining to the manager that her son recently had his car serviced there and a wheel dangerously fell off. Another young girl ahead of me was perplexed why she needed another oil change as she recently had it serviced and the service guy kept on pressuring her that she needed an oil change at least every 3 months. I had brakes done in My Kisco store. They said all four rotors and pads needed replacement. They then called and told me front calipers needed to be replaced as they were frozen. This is the first time I ever had to replace calipers on a car. Toyota 4Runner with 90k miles. They also then sold me on a brake line flush. Bill was over $1100. I called back the next day to ask them about the rear rotors and brakes as I had replaced them less than a year earlier in December 2010. They never called me back. They also we out of stock on tires I wanted but said they were getting in a large shipment but never called to confirm. I would not trust this company and would look elsewhere for someone trust worthy. read more

I came in to have a valve replaced on one tire. The service manager, took me into the garage where he had removed the front tire that did NOT require a new valve. When I asked why, I was told they inspect the car to make sure "it was safe to drive". I was then detailed about how shocks worked and advised that I was eventually need to replace the shocks on my vehicle. I was already turned off that the shop was 'looking for problems' rather then fixing the issue for which it was brought in for. I was also informed there was a chance they would need to replace the sensor on the tire where the valve was being replaced but they would do everything they could to avoid it but would let me know. The sensor was in fact damage but I was not informed until all the repair work was done and replaced. The manager seen my frustration, with both the service manager failure to notify (as I could have declined the sensor) and the time it took to replace the valve (nearly 2 hours) and discounted the bill. I was quoted a $15 charge when walked in. The bill came to $96 but was discounted to $45. However, I would not visit this establishment again as I felt scammed. read more

BE careful as they scratched all my rims when putting on new tires. They first tried to sell me the tires they wanted...but I insisted I knew better (which I do)...and I think as a result they were annoyed and thus I went home with scratched and CHIPPED wheels. DO NOT GO HERE. Just try somewhere else, anywhere else. Additionally, they tried to sell me brakes for my BMW which had recently been serviced at BMW Mt Kisco (and they said the brakes were fine). Trust me, BMW would love to do brakes if they were needed. read more

Mechanic put wrong and different left and right tires on. When his boss found this out from his worksheet, they had to order the correct other tire. I had to wait there for 5 hours. In exchange, Mavis didn't even offer 10% off but only $60. My time is worth more than $60 for 5 hours and dangerously bad tire replacement that could have damaged my wheels or caused an accident if it wasn't caught. Worst part, they bought Kendon Tire up the road where I usually go so I'll probably just use a local shop and order my tires online. Cheaper, better selection and I'll get treated as a valued customer. read more

This is my third review i write for mavis, on my first review i was really upset with the service i had at the mavis in port chester,ny so i decided to do a little more research and i drove to mount kisco from the bronx to service my car, i have to say i will be going back to this location everytime now CHRISTIAN was amazing he took care of all my complaints the other guys who worked on my car were all also great .My car is now running like the first time i took her from the dealer from august until now port chester location could not figure out "my problem" but Christian and his guys did an amazing job , not only was i their for less then 4 hours all my tire issues were solved and im truly satisfied they should have a christian in every location THANK YOU for helping me out :D read more

Paid for an inspection, didn't pass, then when I returned for service, they claimed they were unable to fix the problem - forcing me to pay another inspection fee at another service station. I was directed in by Debbie who assured me they had the tire prior to me getting there. I had a big problem come across while i am in California with my tires i just purchased not too long ago from here, thank god i purchased the road side assistance because i called them to tell them i found a bubble in tire that i just got from them and i spoke to Debbie the assistant manager and she went above and beyond to help me, she was able to send me my tire for free of all charges to California and i just received it i went to a great tire service and they changed it for me, it took about 5 days from the day i found out i had that bubble and i really want to thank Debbie, for all she did and keep me in contact and updated!!! read more

A very fresh experience, so I can speak only to the service, not the quality of any work. Many miles from home, pulled in with smoke coming from under the hood. Mechanics asked if I'd had a recent oil change (I had, 72 hrs earlier) and pointed out oil coating the car's underside, some contacting the manifold, hence the smoke. I GAVE THEM AN OPENING: "A few months ago, someone suggested I might be facing head gasket problems; any chance this is what we're seeing?" No, they said, the oil filter had been improperly installed when the car was serviced, and they showed me the leak. Plain as day I knew little about cars and was ripe for the picking--maybe the scammers don't work Sundays? They replaced the oil filter, cleaned what oil they could from beneath the car and sent me home (hope I'm not getting anyone in trouble here) without charging me. 80 miles home, no more smoke. If it stays that way another few days, I'll add a fifth star. read more

I have used this place for years. Debbie has always been helpful and courteous. Tonight my car showed low air tire. I first went to pleasantville Mavis as it was closer to work. The guy had no personality and blankly said they would have to order my tire. I went to Mavis in MTV Kisco.... My usual place at 5:00 pm. Debbie called the warehouse to arrange a tire get delivered (after hours) and as it turned out, I just had low tire pressure. They went above and beyond to help a customer and could have easily ripped me off. They are honest people who care! Great job guys! read more

I was visiting Armonk for a family occasion when we got a flat. AAA got a donut on it but we had 200 miles to go with minivan full of friends and family. Called they had us come right over. Anthony kept us informed about how long it would take and got the car ready. To my shock when we returned to pick it up they had pulled out a nail and patched it for 20 bucks. They easily could have sold us new tires and I wouldn't have been the wiser. Thank you for being honest and getting us on the road. read more

My daughter brought her car there for a slow leak in the front tire. The car is a year old with 13000 miles. They told her all 4 tires are defective and they are not safe to drive on. I told her not to do anything and we'll bring it back to the dealer. Dealer said there is nothing wrong with the tires... obviously trying to take advantage of a young kid. I was very, very pleasantly surprised with the professionalism and integrity I found at the Mavis Discount Tire Center in Mount Kisco. After being told we needed four new tires just because two of the four were leaking from another tire store in the area, we decided to call another company. So we reached out to Mavis. We spoke to Dan and Debbie who asked the simple question of how long we had the current tires and when we told them they segregated we come down for a quick inspection. I did, reluctantly, because I figured it was a sales tactic. Dan took the car in to "check it over" when he returned I was SURE I was going to be told I needed all new tires, and I was looking at $700 to $800 easy. But to my surprise, Dan's honesty overwhelmed me. He came out and said the two front tires had small leaks that could easily be repaired and that the interior rims needed to be scraped and cleaned. What I thought was going to be a horror show turned into a blessing. I guess this was a sales tactic.... and one hell of one, because I'll never buy tires anyway else for my family cars as well as my businesses. Extremely disappointed in the customer service I have received at this store. Brought in my car to have new tires put on, and it has been nothing but a headache. Between a shortage of mechanics and tools, Id hardly call you tire experts. When I checked on the status of my car-having been there going on three days- I was told they havent even looked at it today. Called customer service and received dial tones.
