So rather than have good service and compete, Mavis Tire bought Weldon Tire and use the now abused Weldon Tire name and reputation by hiring incompetent people and commission incentivized "specialists" to upsell you services that you are not in need of. Their 'hard' upsell (the guy who wears the hat) is unreal and not in a good way! I can deal with that, but I went in for an oil change after spending well over $1,000.00 on a prior visit to be told that I needed a new radiator hose and replacement fluids to the tune of $680.00 ($300.00. for parts and $380.00 for labor). Like really, a hose at RETAIL is $30.87. I was told that he did not know if he needed two or three containers of fluid (which retails for approximately $25.00 per gallon) , but he was going to charge me for three. You can easily go online to ascertain the fluid requirements for any car, or just check the car manual. He took me into the garage and shone a flashlight on my radiator hose and told me it needed to be replaced or it might burst when I was on the road rendering my car useless; he essentially used scare tactics. I have had three, yes three men to include one in the industry check my radiator hose and all have said that it did not need replacement; this is unscrupulous conduct! Needed a NY State Inspection. Called the night before requesting an appointment, service person said to come in the morning when they open. Next day came in the early am. Mgr. instructed me to go less than a 1/4 mile down the road to a local repair shop and they would do it. He also told me to mention his name. I wanted to thank Sean at Weldon Tire for his quick diagnosis and thorough explanation this morning. Due to the location of the screw embedded in the edge of the tire, the tire cannot be patched. I also was missing the tool to remove the tire and will have to go back to the dealer. Sean did not accept a gratuity for his time. They fail to install my oil filter properly properly allowed me to drive out knowing there was no oil in the vehicle due to the improper installment and them breaking the joined compartment costing me a damaged engine now I'm left with no car . Simple oil change turned into a nightmare. Should have known when they had my car up in the air with parts removed for over an hour and the manager continuosly trying to sell his service that I refused. Erratic performance. I have gotten most of my tires from them, including snow tires. I have to get the snow tires swapped on and off, so I see them several times a year. Sometimes you can wait for hours on end, and sometimes they're very fast. Seems they are frequently short-handed and business is backed up. Also, they always, and I mean always, find that you need either new brakes or new struts and shocks. Without fail. My regular dealer confirms that none of these were ever needed when Weldon said they were. Last time I was told my brakes were totally shot..."metal on metal". I'm still driving on those shot brakes 4 months later. I understand they want to do more than just sell tires, but this is just dishonest. read more

The people that work here are incompetent! I took my brand new 2019 Subaru Forrester in for a simple oil change and they drained all the transmission fluid instead of the oil by mistake! When I got there to pick up my car they told me that it would be done in 20 minutes, I waited for an hour before they came and told me that they screwed up! They towed it to a Subaru dealership to have it refilled because they didn't want touch it after they royally fucked up! One week after I got it back the transmission blew(deemed damaged by my Suabaru Dealership) and they have refused to take any responsibility for it! Blew a tire today. I called Weldon before the spare was put on and ordered a replacement. My insurance company sent a service to do the change and when they were done I drove over to Weldon for the new tire. They had to get the tire from their warehouse so by ordering early the tire was ready by the time i got there. Service people were friendly, told me what they are doing, checked the rim, brakes, shocks and springs. They even manage to get the fender aligned. It was pushed out when I hit the giant pothole. A friend recommended this to me because I said how Mavis tire you have to wait for hours to put on two tires. But I come to find out that Mavis tire also and Weldon. First I made an appointment at 10:30 on Wednesday in the morning giving them at least leeway of three hours. Young gentleman at the front desk was very nice I told him I had to be out of there by 3:00 PM. He said no problem even though I saw the tire guys slowly working their way through other cars. My girlfriend pick me up we went to eat at Mount Kisco and hung out for a while came back at 2:00. The car was still not being taken care of. I told the guy a nicely again because I understand sometimes gets busy I need to be out of there by 3:30 because I have my children to pick up. No this is been for hours later to put on for tires. Which takes about 10 to 15 minutes each if you know what you're doing. This sign know because I've been in construction and around this staff for a long time. I told him I'll be back I came back at 3:30 this time he was gone a baldheaded guy there who must've been the manager. Was trying to answer three phones at once. I told him I need my car I have to pick up my kids. He then wanted to show me that I needed back shocks on a 2008 Hyundai élan truck which I use the work car and don't give a crap about my comfort ride from my work car. Quit trying to sell people things we need to peep get people out and I keep telling you they need to get out. Meanwhile my car had no tires on it and there was nobody working on my car. And the guy was giving attitude to people they were there like it's their fault that they had to sit there for six hours waiting for their car. Are you freaking kidding me? They should give you a discount if it's anything over three hours putting on tires. So after everything was said and done an appointment at 10 AM got out at 4:35 PM for four tires and an oil change. Late to pick up my kids hearing it from my ex wife. Thanks Weldon for acreating more of a problem between exes and make them late to pick up their kids.. Don't ever go there unless you have eight hours of your life just to waste away that you'll never be able to get back. Buyer beware.. Stay away from this place. This place is nothing but a headache and a rip off. My story: I 12/29/15 at about 12pm I brought my car to Weldon tire to get two new tires and an alignment done. The manager Rob advised me that I needed 4 new tires along with the alignment. I agreed to go ahead with his suggestion. At about 5pm-5:15pm the job was finally completed and they asked me to pay. After I made my payment of $761.57 they told me that they broke the right back sensor on the tire and I had to bring the car back for it to be fixed. I asked for that in writing and Rob wouldn't do that. He said go bring it back and he would make sure to take care of it. I called to make an appointment to bring the car back so that the sensor could be fixed and it was scheduled for 1-7-2016. I brought my car back at noon on the 7th and waited one hour. The car was brought back with the TPMS off and they said they fixed it. I drove out of the lot noticing that the sensor wasn't working so I went back. Rob advised me to drive it around and it would start to read. I did and it did not work. I called and he said go continue to drive it around. I did and then the TPMS light came back on about 15-20 miles of driving the car around. I would like a partial refund so I can get my car/ tire sensor properly fixed. Rob keeps telling me to come back and they will fix it but after my last two visits I feel that I've spent time and money and have been lied to over and over. Time and money all down the drain and they won't adjust my bill so i can go get it properly fixed read more

I was a long time customer of Weldon when they were at there old location. I found them fair and responsible for tires. I did go there twice after they were purchase by Mavis Tire. Both times they just provided the necessary service at a reasonable price. This last visit was totally different. I went to get a damaged tire replaced and They tired to sell me shocks & struts. I was there an hour & a half to replace a tire. Why did they take all 4 wheels off to try and up sell me stuff. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Pretty good experience here. For one, they price match tires which is cost effective and evaluate the condition of your tires and preventive measures that should be taken moving forward. The prices are not bad and the service is cordial. My only issues are that it's not adequately staffed but that's due to the higher ups. If they had more people on staff the wait time wouldn't be so long. But again, tats nobody's fault that's due to the higher ups wanting to save money. So if you're going to Weldon Tires at this location I suggest going as soon as they open and having someone pick you you up, & being you back because there will be a long wait time. I also suggest calling every 2 hours for an update because due to the busy nature, it's very likely your vehicle will be complete & you will not be notified. They said come down it should take 1 hr. 3 1/2 hrs later still not done. Also, trying to upcharge and add to the bill at every turn; obviously commission based workers. Not apologetic at all. Came for a tire rotation and a wheel alignment, as my front tires were extremely worn. The technician accused me of driving recklessly, asking me if I had been "performing donuts". I found out months later that my front tires were worn because my hub assemblies were on the verge of failing. Had I kept driving my front tires would have fallen off! I just got my new tire from weldon tire 11 months ago and one day my tire sensor was On for 2days but no one is flat so not sure which one has loosing air so I decide to bring my car to weldon tires in bedford and have them check which one had a problem but I'm sure that none of my tires was flat. Then I've been waiting there for an hour and then one guy called me and showed me one of my tire that there's a big hole and said that it can't be fix and need to change a new tire just thinking for 2 days that the tire sensor is on if there's a big hole it should be flat tire already.
