It's not a repair shop so there's less likelihood that they will try to find something extra to charge you for and you don't have to drop off your vehicle and pick it up later. With that being said I had issues both times I brought my vehicle there for inspection. The last time was this week and Erick failed my vehicle for grooves in one of my rotors that were VERY minor and also for what he claimed were rips in my wiper blades. The blades were only a year old and they are premium Bosch blades that have no material to rip. They worked fine and I'm confident he never tried them. The NYS Inpsection criteria (section 79.21) states "Inspect disc for any distortion or scoring that would impare braking system". This minor groove would do nothing but increase the braking surface. When I challenged Erick on this point, he quickly reiterated what the inspector from my last visit said. His answer was basically that VIOC has to be very strict when interpreting the inspection guidelines because they're not a repair shop so it doesn't look good if they don't fail inspections and they might get a $10,000 fine and/or lose their inspection license. I believe I fell into the category of required failures. To be completely fair, my parking brake didn't work well enough which should have been the only reason for a failed inspection. As far as service goes; we spent 3 hours waiting the first visit and then when we returned the next day we arrived before they opened and it still took 2-1/2 hours. Definitely will not patronize them again. Hope this helps someone.

There was a small waiting room (with bathroom) I could wait in while the inspection took place. There's plenty of parking outside. It's on a corner of a busy intersection but not impossible to get out of if you turn right out of the parking lot!
