No appointment, and they still got me in and out in about 45 minutes. They were able to quickly source the issue and swapped out my TPMS sensor, which fixed the warning. The waiting area was clean, and the staff was great. David (the manager) was especially friendly, helpful, and made the whole process easy. Pricing was affordable! My low pressure light popped on so I drove to this Mavis close to home asking them to see if it was something we could just patch up because we had a trip to the beach the next morning and we needed to use that car. Wish I could give this shop zero stars. If your car is newer than 2010, avoid this shop entirely. I took my Acura MDX to Mavis in Decatur for a basic brake job, and their tech forced the rear piston instead of putting the vehicle into service mode -- something every trained tech should know. That mistake damaged my Electronic Parking Brake actuator and triggered several system faults. What made it worse was the manager, David. He avoided my calls for days, was rude and accusatory when I did reach him, and even raised his voice at me in front of customers. When I asked for the General Manager's info, he refused to provide it. Because Mavis doesn't have the right diagnostic tools for modern vehicles, I had to pay a Honda specialist $647.96 out of pocket to repair the damage their technician caused. Be careful! Ladies don't come here. I came in to get air in a tire and see if it needed a patch. The "manager" David came out to my car and fake checked the tires tread and told me in the red and that the tires couldn't repaired because it was in the red. He assumed I knew nothing about cars or tires and I could clearly see none of my tires have low tread. He also tried to sell me on another tire. And stated he was giving me a discount for no reason. I rechecked my tires in front of him to prove that the tire was in fact not in the red and showed him how to properly check which he did not do. Waited 4 hours for a tire install and I had an appointment beforehand. Nice people but understaffed

I went here in January and put new front breaks and rotors on. I didn't think I needed new rotors as they had just been replace 18mos earlier, but they would not put pads on unless I changed the rotors. I was in a jam time wise-so I just did it-$365. Fast forward to 2/28, I get in my car and the break pedal goes to the floor. So I run it up to Mavis and say "my break pedal is going to the floor. I did top off the break fluid, it's full and not leaking but it didn't fix the problem" I leave the car and they call me about an hour later. Long list totaling $1200!!!! Again, rotors, calipers this time and pads. I had just put on new rotors and calipers 18mos prior. I did all four at one time! I got to the bay, look at the rotor and tell Billy "the rotor looks good. I do not feel any grooves or ridges" I ask them to put my tires back on, I need to think about this, I wasn't expecting a $1200 bill! I take the van to my son's BFF's garage in Snellville. Drop it off. He calls me in an hour "your break pads & rotors are fine. The one caliper was leaking, I've repaired it. Whoever took your tires off last (Mavis) over tightened your lug nuts and the were seized so we replaced all of those for you on the back tires." They did a full synthetic oil change too and looked at a few things I had concerns about-total bill $260!!!! MAVIS TAKES ADVANTAGE OF SINGLE WOMEN-THEY QUOTE REPAIRS THAT ARE NOT NEEDED! My son had a GREAT experience last week with an unanticipated visit for a tire so I made an appointment several days ago for today a 1:00 pm for an oil change and road check. Showed up on time for my appointment and settled in with my iPad. 45 minutes later my car was still sitting outside. When I checked, I was told there was another 1:00 ahead of me that hadn't been started. When I told the lady it would have been nice to know when I arrived she indicated the cars ahead of mine had gotten extra services. I went in to get a diagnostic on my car and when they brought my car back out, it was missing a rim Cap, I have custom rims, and the rim caps are expensive, and they tried to claim that it wasn't on when I brought it in, but it was. The lady had no concern to help me and just thought I was making it up. They will tell you things that are wrong with your car that aren't just to raise the price and it's very disappointing. My grandparents came to Emory Hospital from out of town and during their visit, the light indicating low tire pressure came on in my grandmother's car. She wanted to find somewhere to have air put in the tire before getting back on the road which is how she found Mavis Tires & Brakes online. She called to make an appointment and they said they could easily take care of that and have it ready around 1:00 PM. She dropped the car off and we all went to lunch. It is now past 1:00 PM and they have yet to look at it. My grandfather is extremely sick, can barely walk, and started throwing up from the heat which they witnessed. She waited in line to ask the man working at the front desk when it would be ready since she can't drive at night but they need to get home since he is sick. The man working at the counter was just so rude that I could not help but to write a review. He told her that maybe they would get around to it sooner when she decided she wanted to be patient, although she had been waiting patiently the whole time. He explained that everyone had tire problems and that they may get around to it today. She explained that she felt like he should've explained that when they spoke earlier and he started laughing and shaking his head no and turned to begin talking to another customer. Each time she spoke during that interaction he continuously interrupted her. It seemed like he was behaving with customers with an attitude that he grew up receiving from his parents as a child, and that just seemed inappropriate. Well, this has been a waste of time and my grandfather is throwing up and about to pass out from the heat. We are leaving now to go to a gas station and put air in ourselves. Had my front two tires replaced. After a 6 hour wait (fine, I didn't have -or know I needed- an "appointment") I got my keys back. Before leaving, I checked the lug nuts to make sure they were tight. Three of the five lug nuts on one of the new tires were completely loose. One was only half way on. Completely unacceptable and dangerous. If I had not checked, this could have led to a serious accident and the death of myself and/or other people. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is that the guy at the front desk had been very friendly and genuinely seemed to care that my lug nuts had not been securely tightened. However, that does not change the fact that this could have led to a serious accident. Avoid this place. And always check your lug nuts! read more

After having an awful experience at a previous Mavis Tire I decided to take my vehicle to this location. I physically watched as a mechanic at the previous Mavis tire checked my TPMS censors. He showed me that I had ONE bad TMPS censor in the driver side rear tire. I dropped the vehicle off on a Saturday morning at this location. I got a call to pick it up Sunday afternoon saying the truck was "ready to go". When I picked up the vehicle the DUMMY LIGHT was still on inside the vehicle. When I brought this to the attention of staff they told me it should go away in a day or two. I drove the vehicle for a week and the dummy light never went away. I took it back on the following Sunday and told the staff about it. A man named Marcus (manager on duty) checked my TPMS censors and told me I had TWO MORE bad censors in addition the one they "FIXED" last week and that I needed to schedule a FOURTH appointment on a separate day to get it fixed because they did have a technician capable of fixing a standard problem on duty that day. The sensor he said was bad was the driver rear tire that I originally came to get fixed! He tried to blame it on the fact i got the tires "rotated." So tell me this WHY WASN'T IT FIXED THE FIRST TIME? If I have three bad censors like you say WAY WASN'T IT BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THE FIRST TIME?? WHY WAS I TOLD THE TRUCK WAS "READY TO GO"?? It seems to me the tires were never fixed and never rotated and you're trying to double charge me on a job you never did the first time. I asked the (manager on duty) Marcus for a refund and he REFUSED ISSUE ME A REFUND and threatened to call the police on me! I have no other choice but to leave a bad review! read more

Never again!! Fiancee has used Mavis in the past, but our most recent visit will be our last. We got new tires 18mo ago from Mavis, we were having uneven wear on the tires so we took it in for an alignment before a big road trip. They recommended replacing the worn tires. The brake pads were still under warranty so they replaced them too (charging us for only the labor). They put on 2 new tires, did an alignment. When she picked it up it was pulling HARD to the right. They put it on the alignment rack and told her was perfectly aligned and that it must be "some suspension issue" and let her go without trying to even fix it!! It gets worse. After taking to a local tire shop the next day to check the alignment the tech found it was slightly off alignment. This was likely due to LOOSE LUGNUTS! Are you kidding me?! But that didn't fix the issue. Why not? I had to take it to the Subaru shop to learn that they replaced the 2 worn tires but put the new tires on the SAME SIDE. New tires should typically go on the front. But in an AWD car like a Subaru it is essential to have the tires the same on both sides. The Subaru shop also let us know the brake pads were PUT ON UPSIDE DOWN! So we're looking at a brand new set of 4 tires (because no one can find these cheap crappy tires Mavis used) and the labor to fix the brake pads, and another effing alignment!! So frustrated with Mavis. I'm going to call and talk to the manager, but I cannot recommend this shop. read more

I usually don't like to give bad reviews, but I am frustrated with the service at this place. I made an appointment on their website for 11 AM on a Saturday. I dropped off my car around 10 30 to 11. They called me at 3 to give me the cost. I agreed and nobody call me afterwards. I had to call them to ask about the status they were closing at 5 so I called around 4 :30 to ask if the car was ready. It was just an oil change service, air filter and wipers change . They told me that it wasn't ready and I would have to comeback next day(sunday) to pick it up at 10AM. I was there at 10 AM and the car was not ready. What really bothered me was that no body apologized for the delay only until I ask for it. This I not a great customer service and I am indeed really disappointed. Although after asking for a compensation they gave me a "free" oil change for next visit. Which I don't think I am going to use it because I am not coming back to this place never. Not only that. After paying for this bad service. Guess what... they weren't really finished. They forgot the wipers , the seats were all dirty they tried to clean it but is all messy now. Awful service. I spoke to Brien, manager, that my tire on my car had hit some debris in the road and would need to be replaced. This location was recommended by Good Sams Roadside Assistance. I've had business dealings at four different locations and they're all bad! Stupid me for continuing to go back to Mavis. I once had an evaluation done and it turns out my car didn't need any of the services they suggested to the tune of almost $1,000! I would give zero stars if I good! Do NOT GO here if you want SAFE tires! They have put the incorrect size on my tires TWICe!!!! Check engine lights are going off, car is shaking, two mechanic trips all to confirm they put the wrong sizes on again! I was there mid 2022 and they caused catastrophic damage to my steering alignment. They had to replace the tires obviously. Then another blow out on the same tire so I brought it there only due to tires warranty. Low and behold- the idiots strike again!!!!!
