I bought a set of 4 Goodyear tires here and noticed a noise that sounded like a flat spot on one of the tires. Very noticeable noise. They 1st claimed that they test drove the car and couldn't hear anything. I went back for struts & shocks and again mentioned the noise tire. The guy said he rotated the tires - still there. Now the struts they mounted must have been the lowest quality possible as now I hear a continuous drumming sound. I should have known better than to give them more of my business. read more

I came to this location today after having been to BMW earlier in the day for an oil change. It was at BMW they informed me (again) I would be needing New tires. When I inquired as to the cost I was told $2,000 not including balance/front end alignment!! The alignment would have been an additional $200!! So as you can imagine I was not about to part with my money before getting a 2nd quote! Once I returned home, I called Mavis and spoke with Charlie. I told him what I was needing and we talked for a few minutes and I said I'll come by and let you take a look. 20 minutes later I was there and Charlie who was a very nice chill guy took a look. After everything all said and done Mavis had an all in price of $1,114! Less than half of what BMW Quoted me! Now don't get me wrong. I love BMW and for certain things absolutely I would recommend going there. Seeing how my vehicle is paid for and not under warranty any longer there was no reason for me to pay those kinds of prices! Had an appointment for 4 new tires at 2:00 and was waiting in the lobby. It took until 3:00 before the truck even got inside and I asked them if they had a time frame. They said "about to be done". Mind you the truck was still on the ground with the old tires on. Never kept me updated. They also don't replace the rubber valve stems unless they are damaged or if you request it. They originally sold me one tire of an incorrect size. The car drove fine until I returned several months later for a rotation. At that point the error was discovered. After rotation and replacement of the incorrect tire repeated attempts have failed to a problem related to poor acceleration. Avoid this place! read more

Had to get 2 Fuel filter replaced and they were over priced so I show them my last service so they gave me a discount. Discount was ok but still over priced for parts and labor's. BEWARE! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! BIGGEST REGRET EVER! They will mess your car up and lie!!!!! My daughter scheduled a service to have her back tires rotated to the front & new rear tires installed. Dropped off the car mid-morning & asked to have it 5-6 hours later. Came by and still wasn't finished & it was close to them closing for the day. Received a call 10 minutes before the shop closed, so we came & picked up the car. Also she was told that her right front wheel bearing needed attention. She noticed some strange noise but wasn't able to get past 20 mph due to both the store and our place (4 blocks away) are on an extremely traffic heavy highway. She went to work the next morning & same traffic situation (takes 15 minutes to go just over a mile), so wasn't able to get up to speed until the interstate. This is when it became very apparent that something was MAJORLY WRONG with her car. It shook and made a very strange noise. She turned around at the next exit and returned home. She called the shop and told them it wasn't balanced because it shook too much. I dropped it off for her and they had the car ready fairly quickly. When I picked it up, they stated it was balanced & to remind her about the wheel bearing. We found a mechanic that could fix the wheel bearing as any trust/faith we had in Mavis was gone. What a shock when the mechanic called to ask if her car had been hit!!?? "What do you mean?!" was the immediate response. He stated HER WHEEL BEARING (that Mavis told us needed attention) WASN'T THE ISSUE, IT WAS AN EXTREMELY BENT STRUT! Mind you, her car had no issues prior to dropping off at Mavis for the tires. She is in touch with a Mavis regional manager out of New York. He stated they have video of the shop & would review it. Somehow, the time where her car was in the stall isn't showing up or is garbled! Very Strange! He is trying to fix the video so he can see what happened. My mechanic is in the process of taking photos & writing up exactly what is wrong with the car. We dropped off our car, that had no issues, and now have a vehicle that will need $500-$700 in repairs. Needed new tires and called Mavis with my tire number and asked for an appointment that Saturday and got it. When I walked in at 830am they were very nice and professional. They gave me three choices of tire and I picked one. I had new tires, alignment and balancing and had them check my brakes. They called around 12pm to say they were done and the brakes were fine so I didn't need to get those repaired (YEAH!!) I picked up my car and paid them and it was a breeze!! I needed 2 new front tires. I called them and they gave me quotes right away. I don't know if they could tell I was stressed but offered me a discount and that made my day so much better after popping 2 tires on the highway that morning. They told me they'd have to order my tires and my car can be done by Sunday. (It was Friday) I towed my car off and they managed to get it done on Saturday! This is the second time I've been to Mavis at a second location, and I'm always waiting forever. First time at another location was a 9:00 AM appointment for new tires and didn't get the tires done until almost 2:00 in the afternoon. This time it took them almost two hours to rotate, balance, and patch a tire. On top of that, this place charges for rotations and balances, unlike some other chains like Discount Tire. Next time I'm not even going for a tire patch, even though I paid for road hazard warranty. I could do it in my driveway with the jack that came with the car in less time. read more

Drove down from GA to bust my sister, picked up a nail in the way down and had yo out the spare"donut" on. Got to my sisters place in Parrish and looked for an open tire repair shop on Sunday. Mavis on 301 was open and went there with over an hour before they were yo close. I spoke to a man with a foreign accent behind the counter and explained my situation, he looked away and said "sorry I have to finish jobs before I close"!!! Again over an hour before closing and tire was off car and only needed a plug...too busy fix a plug job seems to me that his heart is not into helping people. My sister and brother in law told me of an issue they had with that very store... Fool me once same on you fool me twice shame on me! My advice look elsewhere read more

Took my truck in to get 2 new tires and an oil change as I was evacuating because of Hurricane Milton, last job of the day so business was closing as I drove off. Driving on interstate noticed how different vehicle was driving and tire pressure monitor would not stop flashing ,, eventually pulled over to check tire pressure and the 2 new tires were set at 78 psi almost double what should be and rear tires were at 18 psi and 28 psi almost half what should be checked oil level out of curiosity and was low. This service cost me $458 so not cheap very shoddy work would not go back and have work done there again read more

Horrible experience at the MAVIS Tires & Brakes in Parrish (301)-they are out to SCAM you! I recently brought in my moms vehicle to have front brake pads installed. They had the vehicle in their shop for over 8 hours and called me with a list of 10 different things wrong with the vehicle. I literally just wanted the brake pads replaced. After explaining to them that I just wanted to fix what was necessary, they insisted that the driver side tire was in really bad shape and recommended getting a new tire, so I had them install a new one. Less than two weeks later the tire pressure light kept coming on and something seemed off with the alignment of the tires. I brought in the vehicle to Tire Kingdom as I had lost all trust with Mavis at that point and felt that they were trying to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. I then brought the vehicle in to Tire Kingdom to get the brakes looked at. They said your brakes will need to be done eventually but when we test drove the vehicle to assess the brakes, we noticed an issue with the front driver tire. They said that the tire was SEPARATED and that I needed to go back to where I bought that tire because it was a bad tire. They installed two new front tires with alignment and the car is currently in great shape. When I showed up to Mavis with the tire to ask for my money back, one of their employees or managers insisted immediately that the tire was not separated and that they would have to see the tire on the actual car to confirm that it was damaged. Frustrated, I told them that I wanted my money back and felt like I was getting ripped off. They said there is nothing they can do and that I was not going to get my money back. I did say some colorful language in response to that and then was approached by 3 men who were crowding me and without physically touching me, I was forced out of the store. Then the store owner started filming me with his cellphone as I went back to the parking lot to my car. I felt like I was at a club being kicked out by 3 bouncers. Instead of trying to work with me to resolve the issue I was intimidated by three defensive employees including the store owner himself. I am currently awaiting a call from the regional manager at Mavis Corporate to further resolve the issue. Whatever you do, DO NOT take your vehicle to MAVIS. It was pretty clear the way they responded that they not care about their customers at all and all they care about is MONEY. read more

This review is for the Mavis Tire & Brakes, 8268 US 301 N., Parrish, FL 34219: 1. 03/23/23 - Placed online order for 4 new Michelin Defender tires to be installed on 03/29/23 at 10:00 am. 2. 03/24/23 - Personally visited site, spoke with "Alan", increased order to 5 tires and added 4-wheel alignment. 3. 03/29/23 - Dropped vehicle off at 9:55 am. Expected it to be ready between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm. 4. 3:00 pm - Called to check on status. "Alan" said it would be ready in 1 to 1.5 hours. I asked if the work had even been started, and he said "No", but it would be ready in 1 to 1.5 hours. Wow. What a coincidence. I just happened to call at the exact moment they were going to begin working on my vehicle. When I asked what the purpose of making an appointment was, and why the work wasn't already completed, "Alan" said 2 of his employees went home sick. I guess the remaining guys must be awesome mechanics to get all the vehicles out without those 2 employees, because their parking lot was empty when I arrived to pick up my vehicle. 5. 4:10 pm - Received call from "Alan" informing me that only 4 tires were installed, not the 5 that I had ordered 5 DAYS EARLIER while speaking face to face with him. Neither did he explain why I wasn't informed of this when I dropped my vehicle off 6 hours earlier. But it gets better. "Alan" said I didn't get my 5th tire because the "internet" did not order the 5th tire. I honestly did not know that the "internet" is an employee of Mavis and is responsible for ordering all their tires. Learn something new every day. 6. 5:45 pm - Picked up my Lexus and checked the tire pressures. Placard on driver side door jamb states 32 PSI for all 4 tires. In fact, 3 of them measured 37 PSI and the 4th was 40 PSI, the maximum allowable pressure as stated on the sidewall of the tire. 7. Went in to pay my bill. "Alan" had some big dude, about 6'-3" and 280 lbs., standing guard behind him the whole time, I guess to make sure I didn't try to assault him. Whatever. Judging from their actions, I guess I'm not the only customer they've ticked off. They try to intimidate you if you complain or express disappointment with their shoddy service. 8. "Alan" said their credit card machine was broken and he could not print my receipt. "Alan" took my credit card info to do a manual charge and said he would email me the itemized receipt. (UPDATE: 03/30/23, 4:54 pm - My credit card was charged but still no receipt. Called to check on the status, was told by "Jeff" that he would give "Alan" the message. Received emailed receipt at 5:19 pm.) 9. I bought my Lexus new in December 2006. For the past 16 years and 230,000 miles, the steering wheel was always centered. Now my steering wheel is cocked 1-2 inches to the left. It is a simple adjustment of the tie rods to center the steering wheel during alignment, but apparently the mechanic didn't want to take the time to do it. 10. Now I have to take the time to get another spare tire for my vehicle but it won't be from this store. UPDATE 04/02/23: Just discovered that the TPMS kits that I requested and paid for ($39.96 for all 4 tires) weren't installed. Called the store, spoke to someone who claimed to be one of the managers (could not understand his name due to loud noise in background). He said he only had 1 guy working today, but to bring it in tomorrow at 8:00 am and they'll "take care of it". My wife said, "No, take it to Tires Plus, where we're getting a new spare tire". So I just made an appointment with Tires Plus to fix what Mavis screwed up - install new TPMS kits and rebalance all 4 tires. I'll get over the $40 and the charge to rebalance the tires. I called Mavis had great customer service on the phone when I called and explained my situation. They offered to squeeze me in last minute as a walk-in. Took all my information on the phone and tire size and even quoted me the price before I even went in to patch a leak in my tire. Another location wanted to sell me all new tires, but not Mavis. They said they could patch it and take care of me because they are here to serve. I truly felt alone their customer service was above and beyond my expectations. I got there and they said I could go run errands if I wanted because I already had a donut on because it was going to be a 45 minute wait before my tire was looked at. I didn't mind waiting in their waiting area, getting some work done, or walking over to the Italian place at the end of the street for pizza, pasta, or calzones. I am so grateful for Mavis. Everyone there was very nice. We went in on Saturday and they did not have my tires so the corporate office had to ship them. I was told tires would be there on Wednesday and they were not. Employees were very accommodating and wanted to make the situation right. They gave me a discount for inconvenience and my car was ready Thursday night. Made an appointment for an oil change and wish I had never stepped foot in this store. The check in person could not have been ruder to me. Yelled at me to move my car from the handicap spot. I wasn't parked in a handicap space. He continued being exceptionally rude to me for no reason. I received a call that my car was ready and went to pick it up. Mr Wonderful was still there and even fouler than when I first arrived. When I questioned the price, he barked at me that I receive a full synthetic oil change. The charge was excessive, even after the coupon the charge of $95 is alot. I get mine done at the dealership with a tire rotation for about $75. I tried Mavis as they were closer to my house than the dealership- but will not make that mistake again. Terrbile service and expensive. Nothing but bad experiences with this location. My son had an ACTUAL appointment to get his tire looked at that he made days in advance. He left work (Sarasota) to go to this location because it's right down the road from our house. He got there about 15 minutes before his appointment and they told him that they couldn't look at his car, because they were backed up. They gave him an appointment for the next day and promised they could get to it then. He left work again, got there, and they said they couldn't look at it again because they were backed up. He took it somewhere else and got in right away. Today we noticed we had a nail in our tire. My husband called there to see if they could patch it (again because it's close to our house) they said to bring our car in and leave it and they could get to it in a couple hours. We left to take it to the shop as soon as my husband got off the phone and got there within 5 minutes. My husband walked in and they told him that they couldn't get to it because they were backed up. My husband told them that he just called 5 minutes ago and was told to bring it in. They told him that the call center answered the call. Needless to say we won't be going back there.
