I am a former mechanic and know how to correctly repair a vehicle. I am not local to Vero so they have been taking care of my 84 year old mothers repair needs for a couple of years now. She calls me with her estimates and questions. On many occasions i have on my visits to her confirmed the need for the recommended repairs and they have been spot on and never seem to try to include unnecessary add ons. She has been to other shops before she found this one and they would always try to add on easy money scam repairs that i would have to advise against. That doesnt happen here. The verbal quote already sounded high, but I was under time pressure since I needed the car for a trip later that afternoon and didn't have time to get another estimate. I accepted the quote, but after seeing the final bill, I strongly feel the price was unfair for the amount of work done. Even without the diagnostic fee, the repair cost alone was higher than what other shops typically charge for the same job. Dealing with the store manager, Rhett, was also frustrating. They are out west and worth the drive and have been in business for 34 years. Great customer service. Competitive pricing and they used CarQuest Platinum Rotors and Pads. After installation they took my Jeep for a 30 minute drive doing the proper break in of the new brakes. I was greeted by Steve and Shane the shop manager. At pick up we met Bobby the owner and had a great conversation with him. Having raced Porsche's for 12 years and used to do my own brakes and now due to multiple surgeries I'm physically unable to do my own work. In the past both of my jeeps have been serviced, strictly by the dealership in California and now my Jeep Cherokee is in Florida.
