He not only allowed me to get my things from my car but even helped carry it to my husband's vehicle and helped clean it out being it was going to be scrapped at that point. I know a few people may know the person in this review. Regardless this was a real experience and frankly is sucked. I am posting so others may know how one person conducts business. I started my roadside issue with Geico at 5:21PM. Charlie's Towing responded. The distance from the shop I wanted the truck towed to and where it broke down was 18 miles. However, a few hours later Charlie's Towing arrived to pick up the truck. (*This was fine as we left the truck to continue the day.) The vehicle being unoccupied was marked within the Geico app which means Charlie's knew it. At 10:15PM while have a late family dinner following a dance recital about 15 miles north of where the vehicle was being towed to I get a call from "Kenny". Kenny asks, "Are you going to be present when the vehicle gets dropped off?" When I asked why he said I had to pay for overages. When I asked what overage he was referring to he said it was 44 miles. When I told him that his driver had an incorrect address and it was only 18 miles he demanded that I stop what I'm doing and have to meet with his driver. His tone and lack of professionalism was appalling. His disregard for manners was amazing. To a point where he hung up on me. Not once but twice. After getting Geico involved because Kenny threatened to illegally impound my truck and extort more money for "overage" Geico only paid a few miles over due to information they had. I have since filed a complaint with Geico, DOT, and I will be calling the command for FL State Police who oversees Towing in the state. read more

I contacted Charlie's Towing at 3pm and requested them to move my truck from a location on US Hwy 1 in Vero Beach to Palm City Transmission having a past history with Charlie's I requested to know the price to move it the 41 miles. The gentleman on the phone said $500 and asked when I would like it moved I let him know as soon as possible today and I would call him back in a few minutes. I called back and a young lady answered she said she was aware of it. I offered to pay it immediately she said we will text you a link to pay it. At 7:30 pm I called and requested to know why I had not received a link she stated they still had not picked it up but would be within the hour. At 1am I was called and asked if I had received the payment link that they had just picked it up. I let her know I had not. After several calls I finally received the link. Meanwhile I had received another call from I would assume the tow driver wanting to know if I had paid it. I said I had just text back that the agreed price was $500 and the link showed $525. The person stated the $500 was for cash and I was using a credit card. That was never discussed on any prior call and did they really expect at 1:30am to go out somewhere to pay $500 cash. Needless to say I will never do business with them again and being very well known in the community will make sure I share my story with everyone I encounter and all social media sights. You would flimflam someone out of an additional $25 at 1:30 am while paying over $12 a mile. Enjoy the extra $25 I guarantee it will cost you a lot more than that in the long run. read more

My work truck wouldnt start and I was about 150 yards off on an access trail for farmers/utility workers. The tow driver shows up (after calling off the first guy who came for a more urgent issue) and refused to get the truck. I asked him if he could just take a walk to see for himself how easy it would have been for him to make it down there and he didnt want to get his lazy ass out to do me the courtesy of actually checking out the route and then deciding if he could or couldnt make it. This trail is so manageable that you could fit 2 small trucks side to side and make it through. It used to be a road! Now Ive been stuck here going on 4 hours just because this guy didnt want to possibly scratch his truck up. read more

I give 0 stars to Charles Towing. My mother-in-law received permission from the HOA and from the owners of the property to park in the neighbors driveway. They towed my sons truck and ripped the grill off the front of his truck. When asked about it, they denied they tore the grill off. Rude , Poor service. Kenny the owner/ manager, was incredibly rude. The whole experience ruined our Mother's Day. I would not use these people. They damaged my son's vehicle and did not take responsibility for it . read more

Worst customer service experience!! My son's car wouldn't start and was still under warranty. My roadside assistance contracted Charlie Towing and they gave an ETA of an hour & a half. 2 hours passed, and I called them to see when they were going to arrive. The girl who answered said the driver didn't leave yet to come. She also said he would be another 45 minutes at least out. When I questioned her about that, she immediately said, "YOU CAN FIND ANOTHER TOW COMPANY AND I AM CANCELING YOUR SERVICE CALL!" I didn't have the chance to say another word to her because she hung up on me. Trust me, if this can happen to me, then it most definitely has happened to lots of potential customers. DO NOT give any business to them!! They obviously do not want it and will fall through on their services. read more

If I could give this business no stars I would. Stuck on the side of the road with no mechanical or electrical power in the rain. Driver shows up, says nothing, loads my car onto the truck. Once asking driver to take me to west palm for the previously quoted $400 he responds it must be in cash or no deal. I did not have $400 in cash or I never would have asked them to come out. I would have called a respectable business that would except payment with a credit card. I trusted this business because my insurance company sent me suggestions and Charle's tow was at the top. I should have read reviews like this first, but I was in a tight spot and it was getting late. The "boss" at the time said he would not let my car be taken off the tow truck without first giving them all of the cash I had on me to do so. I have since purchased AAA which costs less for one year then one tow from this company. Highly suggested!! Zero stars!! This is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. I was quoted $85 flat for the tow. They added an extra $30 charge for "waiting time" even though the driver showed up 20 min early to pick up the vehicle and left WITOUT the car. The driver stated the no one was home even though he admitted he never rang the doorbell or knocked! When I called to have them remove the fraudulent charge, the manager, became furious about the extra charge being questioned because of how expensive the car was and how the neighborhood the car was picked up at was "upper class." They eventually picked up the car and dropped it by the auto body shop and in the end I was charged $185! read more
