Trex, however, does have specific foundation requirements that support the boards and we needed our foundation updated. We met with 3 companies all of whom had good reviews/referrals. We chose California Fence primarily because of Bill. This may sound silly but part of the reason is because when he come over to meet with us and provide a quote, he was covered with dirt and sawdust, which reinforced what he was telling us - He is on the job working with his crew all day unless running out to do a quote. He listened to our needs and gave us experienced feedback. We had a medium sized tree which needed removing and killing, which he also did, and he needed to work around a gas line to our fire pit. We liked his attention to detail and his straight to the point matter. After answering our questions he immediately brought out his tape measure, little book and pencil and worked out a quote. His crew is composed of his family and a couple of family friends that have been working with Bill for years. They were all very friendly and respectful and seemed to share Bill's attention to detail. Bill and crew were always available to us and responsive to any questions we may have had. We were impressed with the quality of their work. When they were done we had a beautiful new Trex deck and the area was nicely cleaned up. We are very pleased and are happy to recommend California Fence.

My neighbors and I share a fence that is probably as old as the house, 50+ years. There were also big gaping holes that my dog could escape from. My neighbor did the research and got quotes from several places but we landed on Daniel Fence because she had used them previously to fix the fence with her other neighbor. Someone from the company came out to talk to me about the fence and what my expectations were. I have planter beds along that side of the fence and I made it clear that I wanted to keep them. I was told that they would cut the posts down to the planter beds and put new posts next to them. They are responsive and we were able to get the date for the replacement fixed. They were quick - tore down the existing fence along 2 homes, cleared up decades worth of ivy on y neighbor's side and had the fences done in 3 days. But instead of cutting the existing fence posts down to the planter beds as agreed to, they pulled the posts out as well as the frame for the beds on the side of the fence, they claimed that they could not put the fence on the property line if the frame remained. I insisted on the frame being added back and they agreed to clear some soil from the beds and add the frame back in. We had also agreed that they would remove all ivy on my side of the fence but they still quite a bit left that I have to pull out myself. They also pulled out a few drip lines and took down my sun shade and no communication about it, just left. I would recommend them but keep a close eye on the work and insist on everything that was agreed on and ask them to fix any damages.

Project Pitch Phase: Gabriel came out at least twice to carefully assess the scope of work. He was thoughtful in his recommendations - for example, suggesting we update the bay window to ensure the entire bathroom felt cohesive and aesthetically aligned. While it added to the cost, he explained the reasoning clearly and never felt pushy. He was upfront about pricing and the overall plan. He even invited us to visit another active job site so we could see the quality of work firsthand, beyond just online photos. Additionally, he had his plumber come out to provide a free quote for the copper repiping, which we appreciated. Work in Progress: Gabriel has built an incredible team. His project manager, Israel, was friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful - especially when it came to selecting tiles, vanities, and fixtures.
