And it lived up to all my hopes and expectations. First of all - strip mall from the front, but it's all charm and coziness inside. The decor includes lots of photographs and beautiful table coverings - but the highlight of the interior is their play on the Ukrainian Pich (stove). What looks like a beautiful, traditional Pich is an opening and passthrough to the kitchen. It adds such charm and character to the space. But onto the food. I happen to love Ukrainian food, so we were excited and hungry and knew we would order too much food and have leftovers for later. We ordered and shared: Yushka (a porcini mushroom broth served with mushroom dumplings and a huge chicken meatball) with a garlic bun on the side on the recommendation of our server; Huliash (stewed beef with potato dumplings, and prunes); herring (with egg salad, boiled beet, and onions); and potato and cheese varenyky with cracklings). I would order and eat every bite again. And I wish I'd had more room to finish our plates and order a dessert!
