Not clean like Safeway. But they have whole Hamachi and Bigeye tuna. Never seen this before. Always had to go to IMP foods for these 2 fish!!! Stunning there is enough demand for this in ESJ. Seafood market selection is better than any other Asian market I have seen in Bay area.

    Gross -;(

Never go to this market again! Be careful when buying meats, food and veggies here. Most of their veggies are rotten and spoiled. This market don't care about people health. I hope that the health department will check on their facility soon. THEY USE CHEMICAL BLEACH TO KEEP MEATs LAST LONGER -:( then sell it to the customers. I got this gizzard for my chicken Ph today. when I opened the container something was odds .. it smells like bleach and the gizzard looks so pale white (it should be dark pinky color) I cut a piece insides smells like a dead body rotten -:( OMG! just throwing up right there in my kitchen. As I throwIng the gizzard in the trash.

Fishes were still full of gut and blood.

Today's fishes were terrible. Look at how cleaned and cut my Mackerel were done. I would not come back for a while. Look at your fishes before you leave the store.

TypicaL Asian Supermarket. Great spot of aLL of your grocery necessities. Huge Location that is tidy and cLearLy weLL kept. Minus one star because I'm aLways greeted by this nauseating stench of fishy-ness and bLeach! Gross!! On a positive note: Kudos on them actuaLLy disinfecting and whatnot with the bLeach.

I'm more likely to shop in Sunnyvale for Asian groceries, but this store has Mama noodles, and a reasonable supply of Nong Shim products, as well. I still need to head to El Camino Real for specific Korean and Japanese products. This store looks impressively clean. Even the seafood tanks look reasonably clean. I would imagine there is the typical smell, but it's not incredibly strong, if it's there. They have a variety of products, covering a number of countries, but it seems more concentrated on VietNamese and Thai products. Given the area, it's understandable. Prices seemed reasonable, although many things didn't seem to be marked at all.

Don't ever buy fruit from this market. Prices are higher than other markets. There fruit mostly old and rotten. I bought the Duran at $6 dollars per pound, brought it home and open it, all rotten inside. I wasted over $30 dollars. The next day I came back and show the owner the rotten Duran, she replied too bad. Bad business and rude.

If it smells bad, you have a sense their cleanliness is an issue. This market doesn't smell bad, so that's a good sign. The lines queue up, but the cashiers are quick and they get you in and out. I will say though that I don't like how ginger and shallots are offered in bulk, so I go to Lucky's or Safeway for them but I usually take care of everything in one place. Oh, I like to get my ground meat from Lucky's or Safeway or Walmart because of the fat content. I want to see the nutrition label as opposed to asking the gentlemen in the back to get me 2lbs, etc. w/o knowledge of how much fat is in it even if I choose "lean." Go early because parking is not easy and the store can be incredibly crowded. Lines aren't messy even though they can be long. I'm an easy customer and because I'm OCD, I load the items on the conveyer by categories and I inform the checker at the beginning that I would like to purchase bags - as many as needed but usually I eyeball it and tell them I need 5 bags, etc. I have made the following dishes from the groceries I purchased here: 1. pho 2. kimchi udon 3. canh dua 4. heo quay 5. pho xao bo 6. mi xao bo 7. thit dong 8. ca ri ga 9. bun rieu 10. banh gio I don't have any complaints. Honestly, it didn't feel like a newly remodeled store. It felt more like they just put up a new sign outside. They might as well have had a banner that said "under new management." Lee's is known for their great sandwiches, so I expected more of a café-style setup where you could browse a variety of sandwiches and maybe sit down to eat. Instead, there's no seating area and the menu is just a large LCD screen listing sandwich names and prices with no photos. The store itself feels cramped, with most of the space dedicated to shelves rather than any place to relax or enjoy food. I was hoping for something closer to a Whole Foods style experience where you could grab a sandwich, a drink, and maybe meet friends. Instead, it feels like a typical Asian market without much innovation. The one cool touch was that every checkout lane had fresh baked baguettes ready to go. That and my sandwich was delicious but instead of eating it right than and there I had to drive home in traffic and eat it cold. I just love eating em' freshly made and the bread right out of the oven. For sandwiches, I'll probably stick to the regular Lee's Sandwich locations nearby.

Sharing my recent visit to La Princesa, Friday April 17 2026…read more. I genuinely wanted to support this store, but what I witnessed has changed my perspective. I observed a clear case of cross-contamination between non-halal and halal meat handling. A staff member handled pork and then proceeded to serve halal meat using the same gloves, without changing them. The same worker also placed a bag of pork directly on the counter used for halal items. This is not a minor oversight--it reflects a serious lapse in basic halal food handling standards. I raised this with the manager, but unfortunately did not receive the level of assurance or accountability I expected, especially given the severity of the issue. Management needs to take this matter seriously, as it is deeply concerning to the Muslim community. The placement of non-halal meat in close proximity to halal meat should not be considered acceptable in the first place. Based on this experience, I'm giving a 1-star rating.

Price is pretty steep for something like this. The owner or person taking our order seemed like a confident or very straight forward / strong type personality, which I'm fine with because I naturally have a bit of a strong personality as well so it didn't bother me, although it would've been better if he smiled or something so it doesn't seem like he's coming off like a New Yorker. Just sayin. But I also know that he's simply doing his job so it's nothing personal. Anyhow, the food he talked a good game on it being the best in the Bay Area turned out to be quite mid IMPO. The shrimp was 100% overcooked, the side Mac salad was actually *not* good at all and it sucks because that's something I feel like you can't mess up but it was gross unfortunately, I spat it out even tho I hate wasting food. It just didn't taste freshly made whatsoever. The poke bowl wasn't comparable to Hawaii since he mentioned it's just as good... but honestly I think everyone's taste buds are different because to me, the poke bowl was totally mid, but it could taste really good to someone else and that's certainly OK! Also -- I like salty things esp when I crave for it but this was quite heavy on the salt, which made my experience the way it was. Even though it could've been better, I came with no expectations and just wanted to see what the fuss was about. That said, the only thing that was good was the rice cracker snack we bought and that's it. Glad I still gave this place a try, but personally for me, it's definitely my last visit. Maybe I'll come back at an earlier time to get one of their strawberry mochi but other than that, I think I'll rest my case here.
