I was very disappointed by the owner's behavior. I purchased two Sangak breads and paid with my card. Instead of politely explaining the store's cash-only policy, the owner spoke to me in a rude and aggressive manner in front of other customers and told me he would refuse to sell me bread next time if I used a card. There is nothing wrong with having a cash-only policy, but treating customers disrespectfully is unacceptable. I left the store feeling embarrassed and upset. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience at this store. I bought two Sangak breads and paid with my card. The owner rudely and aggressively told me, in front of other customers, that this would be the last time he would allow me to do that. If the store has a cash-only policy, that's fine, but there is no excuse for being disrespectful to customers. His behavior was very rude and embarrassing, and I was genuinely upset by the way I was treated. I will not be shopping here again. read more

Is the owner a bit temperamental? Sure. Is he human? Also, yes. I was in my feels the first time he seemed moody but the next time I came in he was in much better spirits and I realized, he's human after all. Maybe he is going through something. Let's have some compassion. Anyway, the store has what I need within reasonable distance from my home. read more

I would have loved to support a mom and pop store like this, but the owner is rude and aggressive. Won't be shopping here again.

Owner was very kind and apologetic about the wait, it was very busy as I believe they were having an event next door, but I definitely didn't mind! I come here to buy rose water, spices, and tea, it's more affordable and has more variety than a larger scale store. The building is small but well organized, and the most of the other cliente seemed to be regulars and spoke with owner, so it feels quite happy and neighborly. They have some very nice ice cream and breads I would recommend trying! read more

Zero customer service, no sign saying no return visible! I bout a bought $30 worth of sweets and when I tried at home and they were very very stale and hard, I took them back and instead of him being sorry and apologizing, he was on the offense and said your taste buds maybe bad, and would not take the crap back and told me to call the bakery myself and ask for a refund! Lol Buyer beware of items you see that people might not buy as often! My last time their, he told me he don't care if he loses us as customers, last time we went there, spent $125 in that store I just read other reviews that he overcharged some customers as well, so be careful when he is ringing you up, I never checked! read more

Good selection of international, specifically Persian, grocery and fresh produce. Basil and cucumber often lasts longer than similar items purchased from other local markets. read more

Don't recommend this shop , prices are higher then other similar markets , the owner is pretty aggressive and can't handle any complains , no return policy and last but not least check the expiration dates on the items you buy because there is a good chance it is already expired. read more

Tiny but mighty. Lots of items to whip up delicious meals or snacks. Very clean and organized.

These guys use the same disposable gloves all day when cutting meet, very unsanitary, the owner is very hard core and doesn't like to hear about any problems read more

I can get Yeganeh's Sangak here. And I found a great ice cream: Saffron Pistachio. Organic, and kosher! This market has everything you need to stock a Persian kitchen. I'm very happy about discovering the hardworking grocers at Express Market in the plaza across the street from Santa Teresa HS. They have great stuff! read more

International Express Market - Find artesian ice cream here! They've got creamy saffron and rose water! - International Grocery Near Me - San Jose, California

Middle Eastern food market with PG&E payment center. Lots of goodies inside, I picked up a fresh packet of pita for about 2 dollars. However, the area is poorly lit and the owner needs an education on courtesy. He "greets" me with a scowl on his face, he threw my change back at me with disdain, he pretty much made me feel like I was not wanted at his store. Of course, another shopper was there who spoke his language. He seemed to treat her nicely. You would think a Mom and Pop store would have a some sort of allegience to its neighborhood and know how to conduct a simple transaction with proper manners. I won't be going back, there's plenty of stores in the area which offer the same goods and don't make me feel like I'm some sort of subhuman species. read more

Somehow expected the International Express Market to be much more international. Mostly focused on the middle eastern clientele, you can surely find all the goodies you need for your gourmet sabzi, but do not expect to find cheap, super fresh produce. I found everything I wanted, but was not impressed like at other similar markets. I was hoping for more variety, but still the trip there was worth and I will go again if in the area and need of my beloved olives and pomegranate drinks. read more

Rodney is amazing and we love going to his store!! Myself, my mom and brother have been going there for few years now and we do our whole grocery shopping from from him. Everything is always fresh, great prices comparing to other stores and on top of that he has a very sweet and friendly personality and also a very honest person! Very clean, organized store which makes shopping and finding what you are looking for much easier! Very happy we are close to this store and that he took over from the last owner!! read more

This place is horrible! Where do I start? The service is very poor. The gentlemen behind the counter is just plain rude and obnoxious. I felt like my business was not wanted at his store. I got the feeling that if you not middle eastern you don't belong in the store. I bought pita bread, feta cheese, a few can goods and produce. When I got home I found out the feta cheese and 1 beans can was expired. I should have checked before I purchasing! I was to scared to return the stuff but I will never go back. read more

Went here for some produce because we didn't want to go to a big store with coronavirus around, it was a quick in and out, very express as the name implies but the produce was a bit on the tired side read more

Great little Middle Eastern Shop next to Bistro Tupaz. They have a nice selection of items and get their Lavash fresh daily. Sometimes they also have fresh hummus but tend to run out of it quickly -yeh it's that good. Customer service is good and the store is fairly clean. read more

I have been going to this place for awhile now and since the new owner took over everything seems better. From the actual store being neat to the customer service. Overall this place became my to go place and definitely recommend it. read more

I dropped by a couple of more times to this store and the prices of many dairy products in the refrigerator section still aren't posted. I bought some Bulgarian Feta which tasted fine but had a grainy texture which differs from that purchased from the International Food Bazaar on Curtner/Union. The clerk at the register was pretty distracted on her cell phone which probably helps her stave off boredom, considering that I was the only customer in the store. If you've been to the store before and are pleased with the price(s) and quality of what you bought, this store is great because you probably won't need to wait in a line to pay. If you love/savour Bulgarian Feta Cheese, you might consider heading to International Food Bazaar instead of buying a block here. read more

We have been a customer if this grocery store for more than a year. I've heard that the owner changed about 4 years ago. Those who run this place are very polite and nice. I've been to many international markets in the Bay area, and this place offers fair, cheaper prices on most of the items than other grocery stores I have been in. Our friends who come from San Mateo is San Francisco do their shopping here. I love their flat bread, frozen lamb shanks, and fresh produces. Like many small stores, there's a minimum purchase requirement to pay by credit cards (I think $10). read more

Randy is awesome guy ! very personal and you are always welcome to his shop I went to buy couple thing yesterday we end up having 20 min conversation he is people person and honest . i would recommend him if you are looking for Persian market thanks read more

This is a new owner. He's EXTREMELY ACCOMADATING. the shisha prices are so inexpensive and they are good quality. The new ownership will forever have me as a retuning customer. This place is 100% better than before! Fresh lavash and jalebi too! Ayyyyyyyyyye!! read more

He wouldn't sell me their middle eastern bread for $10 as I only had a credit card. He said that he makes $0.15 for each bread and it's not feasible for him to sell except with cash. I have been there several times to pick up odds and ends of grocery. The timing of this was horrible as I had a few families over my house for a family death and I had to go across town just to get some bread. read more

I love this place!!!! Everything is fresh. The owner Rodney is very friendly and helpful. UNDER A NEW OWNERSHIP! Thank Goodness! I have stopped going here for ages because the previous owner was - rude, obnoxious, do not pay attention to his customers, store was dirty and disorganized and smelly. The new store - absolutely wonderful. I came visit family in San Jose and found this store on yelp. Wow I was really impressed. The owner is very friendly and kind. The prices are cheaper than other stores in san Jose. They have a variety of Tobacco flavors and again prices were amazing. I would most definitely recommend this place to people who live in san Jose. read more

The market sells much of the same stuff as other Middle Eastern markets in the area, but there are a few things that I haven't seen as frequently at other stores. They sell the frozen artichoke hearts from Egypt. Those are my favorite kind to use in various recipes and most other markets in the area either do not stock them or have them for sale long after the expiration date. Their selection of breads is great. I also noticed they have dried Lemon - I've been looking for that with no luck in other stores. In general most items are fresh/unexpired, but I have seen one or two items that looked like it may have expired. That's pretty typical for most little markets like this though - most don't have the funds or staff to re-stock things as regularly as larger stores. This one seems much better than most. I love that this place is just down the street from me. The owner has always been nice/polite to me and I don't speak the language. The times I've been in there, I've never seen anyone that experienced the treatment that Vik describes, but maybe he was having a bad day. read more

I wish I could give zero star to this owner he is a very unprofessional .zero costumer service.

Hat's off to Radney for improving this place since he took over! I know five stars should be held back for really memorable experiences but I had the most attentive service my first time here of any shop of its kind I've ever been. I was trying to put together a Middle Eastern picnic lunch and really didn't know where to begin. He and his associate helped me put together a wonderful spread under buget! I wish I could post pictures to prove it. Let me just say, THANKS GUYS! read more
