Stuffed french toast

My friend and I were having a late breakfast. This place is an old fashion cafe with a steady flow of customers. We were seated right away, and out drink order was taken quickly. We also placed our order at the same time. , Our food came 30 mins later, the restaurant could of used another waitress as we only saw our twice. No 2nd coffee offered. I ordered the banana bread french toast ,I received 3 pieces with real maple syrup . The banana bread was very sweet and the french toast aspect didn't really work with this type of bread. It was suppose to come with sliced bananas but they ran out of bananas ,I wish I knew this beforehand I would have ordered something different .No butter served with it. My friend ordered the stuffed french toast ,it looked good but I think it was under the warmer too long because it was soggy, almost soup like

Could've been great... I ordered the huevos rancheros. The flavor was good, but the hot eggs were topped with cold salsa and the potatoes on the side were delicious, but also cold.

Sausage and VT cheddar breakfast sandwich on homemade biscuit with home fries

The food here is delicious and the staff are very welcoming! The homemade biscuits make for a great breakfast sandwich (which is served all day!). The chicken tenders are also homemade and great too! I will definitely stop in anytime I'm in the area

Maxi's was a wonderful choice for our first meal in Vermont. It was easy to get to from the airport (if a bit of a long drive) and walking up it was the cutest, most darling place to see. Made my New England in the early autumn, late summer dreams come true. We walked in and we seated right away. There wasn't too big of a crowd on a Thursday at 11am but most of the tables were taken. Our server was friendly and made sure to check in on us when appropriate. The food was really good. I mean I can honestly say that corned beef hash was some of the best I've had and it wasn't even that special. It's just how they made sure to really get it flat and crisp it up. Yum, yum! Those house-made biscuits though. The stuff of dreams. Pillow-y soft on the inside but crusty and crunchy on the outside. I could have one of those everyday. Would I come here again if in the area? Heck yeah!!!

Banana Pancakes with a side of bacon

Great stop for breakfast and especially pancakes if you are on a visit to Vermont like us. We were so happy to have tried some Vermont maple syrup before our drive to Boston. I paired my plate with a cup of hot Vermont cider that was cozy and delicious. Service was a bit understaffed for the breakfast rush having one person manning most of the dining room. However he was very kind. We ordered a second side of bacon for my boyfriend's pancakes and alerted the server of the same. He apologized and said that he would get it to us but it never came during the time it took us to finish our meals. I will say that one side of bacon ($4) might be enough for two depending on how hungry you are. We were stuffed by the time we were done after eating our huge pancake and sharing one order of bacon.

Omg!!! I would come here every week if I could. I love breakfast food & this place exceeded my expectations. I had a pancake sandwich (basically) & it was heavenly!!! The maple syrup added the perfect amount of sweetness to the savory pancakes with egg, bacon & cheese. I can rave about this meal forever, it was so delicious. Please come here! My friends had biscuits, French toast, pancakes, sausage links, which they said were all very delicious as well. This place is like a small diner but the flavors were to die for. Our server wasn't too nice & it almost felt like she was acting that way because she knew we weren't from VT, but who knows... come here for the food not the service!

Food was solid, hash browns with green chiles, came out a little cool but they were swamped and seemed to be a tad light on staff.

Despite the packed house, servers were friendly and reasonably attentive, and while the food came out slow, that's to be expected. I wouldn't say it was unreasonable at all considering the volume, AND they were churning out a ton of to-go orders. No televisions in here, which I loved, and a great vibe. Tons of people just having a great time. Great non-alcoholic drink menu. About to celebrate three years of sobriety, and I truly appreciate that. The food was good-great, depending. My wife got a salad with pulled pork and I got the brisket. Both were just "fine" and the meats desperately needed sauce. The brisket was pretty dry, which was disappointing. We also split a side of the smoked mushrooms, which we thought were good, and the pasta salad, which was unfortunately quite bland and not very noteworthy at all despite using pasta from the acclaimed Gallus. Now here's the sleeper: the dry rub wings were incredible. Some of the best I've ever had! Don't miss out on these just because they're on the appetizer menú. If I came back I'd just get a double order of these bad boys. Sweet and smoky and cooked to perfection. Absolute 10/10.

More akin to a breakfast panini, the gooey fluffy egg and cheese, crunchy bacon, and bright onions were perfectly supported by two slices of crunchy, crusty toasted sourdough. Such great flavor! The iced maple latte was a bit on the sweet side but still very much enjoyed it. TBD on the scone, but judging by how busy it was, it is gonna be great! Service: Friendly group passionate about what they do! Ambiance: Small town, comfortable bakery where I assume all the netizens gather.

It's always been busy when I've gone, but wait times aren't very long and the staff is pleasant. Needless to say, I got home and inhaled my turkey on a baguette. The only thing I think is a little bit of a bummer is the lack of more "traditional" topping options. I like my sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The cafe does not offer tomatoes and only has pickled onions. Would be nice to have a little more choice when building your own sandwich. That said, I'm still a big fan and would get food from there again in a heartbeat.

I got the jerk chicken wings which tasted like they came out of a pre seasoned package from a grocery store and was very dry. We also got the cream of broccoli soup which had no flavor and had the consistency of crushed up cauliflower with the driest corn bread ever. Had a burger which was the only up side to any of it. To top it off these were lunch specials that came with nothing on the side, no fries, no chips nothing. I would think if you are calling something a lunch special it would come with some kind of side. We still supported this location by going across and getting a couple cider doughnuts. The parking felt like we were parking for a huge concert. People directing, hoping to find an open spot. We finally found a small spot and decided to grab a bite before looking at the huge place across the driveway. When in Vermont, get the Vermonter. Smoked turkey, apples, cheddar, pickled onions. My daughter liked it. I got a cheeseburger with maple bourbon pickles, cheddar, onion, tomato, and lettuce. The presentation of both was really nice. Both tasted good. They ran about $13-15. We wanted to do a cider flight but the ones we wanted to try were out. The wait to order was looooooooong (more than 20 minutes) and then waiting for the food also took a while. This is not the place to go if you have limited time. After eating at the cafe, we crossed the driveway and explored the large building. Lots to buy. We decided to try the cider donut that everyone was buying. It was a tiny boring soggy donut. Not worth the wait or the $ (even though it was cheap). It was fun to watch the cider press.
