The food was a little overpriced for what you get. I really enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros except there were some burnt home fries. The food was ok, but the attitude of the cashier ruined the experience. She spoke in a cold gruff voice that escalated to anger. It went like this: Her; Whipped cream ok? Came here with the fam for brunch. I had the falafel wrap upon the recommendation of the guy who takes your order. I have to say, I did not feel awful for ordering it (sorry for the bad joke). The falafel was cooked properly (that is it wasn't dry) and everything in the wrap made it terrific. The salads and pork sandwiches were also enjoyed by the rest of my group. Wow! What a find. The food was amazing. Delicious wraps served with a mixed green salad. My falafel salad had homemade falafel and the best hummus I've ever tasted on it. Then to top it off they have homemade unsweetened chai, and the most delicious BAKED donuts that weren't too sweet (my fave!!!) They also have Prohibition beer and seltzer for sale so we didn't have to make an additional stop at the Pro Pig. To top it all off they have the most *beautiful local arts and crafts including paintings and stained glasswork. I LOVE this place. I'd been to the bookstore a few times and had seen the opening through the store but had only recently decided to give it a shot. So glad I did. Their food is very fresh, always delicious and I am so happy they serve sandwiches that are a bit outside of the box, I.e. Bahn Mi and Muffaletta. I've had the turkey too and it's all great. Their portions are large and they provide refills on coffee. They sell local work of artisans which is great. Just love the concept and their love of food shows. They have what look to be some delicious and healthy juices as well as veg options but my eyes always settle on the rich stuff. They also offer baked goods. I can only speak to the peanut butter cookie which is amazing- thick, chewy and rich with peanut buttery goodness. I want one now as I type this but alas. Not possible. We stumbled into this place looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast. So glad we did. I am still thinking about that breakfast sandwich. So simple, but fresh and so delicious. Healthy and Fresh! I have been coming here for quite some time, and after todays lunch, I feel compelled to write a review. I have never walked away from a lunch anything less than completely satisfied. The soup is always excellent. The sandwiches and salads are always delicious. The desserts are awesome. I had the muffuletta sandwich today. Awesome. The fresh made English muffin is outstanding, and it is heated just enough. The dressing on the side salad is so simple, but so delicious. I also had a cream of mushroom soup that was downright scrumptious. The only reason I resisted dessert today was because they were sold out of my favorite, a super moist almond cake/torte. If you are in Waterbury and looking for a great, healthy lunch, this is the place! Oh yeah, and the employees are just great. We came to Stowe for a visit and chose this spot because of high Yelp reviews-- and the reviews were right. This place was lovely, with an open, retro, hippy vibe. Yelp often shows random nonsense when you search "gluten free" (like maybe the diet coke is gluten free or something) but this cafe actually had gluten free bread for their sammies and it was GOOD GF bread too. FYI the turkey was more like ham, with a smoky flavor, but it seems like thats the thing up here. With a little Chohulas hot sauce, the warmed turkey sammie was great. Being from the NW we are used to 1 or 2 coffee shops on every corner so imagine our anxiety when vacationing in Vermont an espresso shop was no where to be found (granted, Vermont is not populated state). Fast forward to Stowe VT's "Stowe Street Cafe". Not only were we relieved there was espresso in this beautiful state but the coffee experience was as good as either in Seattle or Portland. So hats off to a wonderful espresso as well as to a knowledgeable and friendly staff.
