I've been a loyal customer of Maxon Jewelers for more than a decade, and under Rick and Jane's ownership it was always a fantastic place to shop. They consistently delivered exceptional service and were able to source hard-to-find pieces--even models like the Daytona. During my visit this past weekend, however, the experience was completely different. I was surprised (in a good way) to find a consigned watch (AP RO) that matched exactly what I had been shopping for. Unfortunately, the manager had very little information about the watch (ie: original papers, etc). After waiting around for quite a while, I realized he was busy on the computer finalizing another transaction instead of helping me. I eventually left my contact information and walked out. The manager never followed up. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I won't be returning. read more

I came to Maxon to get a custom Mother's Day bracelet made. I was upset and frustrated about some miscommunication that happened at first but i called and the manager Jessica did all she could to make it right and refunded some of my money for my troubles. Then I received a phone call from the owner Jane and she was also very sorry and offered multiple ways to resolve any issues I had. At the end of it I was happy with the way any mistakes were handled and with the customer satisfaction I was given by the owner and manager. read more

We have been going to Maxons for 11 years. Jane and Rick are not only wonderful knowledgeable jewelers but are fabulously kind remarkably warm people. I love estate jewelry and in particular Art Deco jewelry. I had purchased a wonderful French Art Nouveau lorgnette that was in need of repair. They not only took this on but brought it back to its wonderful 1912 splendor. They love jewelry and love to see it preserved. My Wife had my wedding band made here, and it's fantastic! When I first got to try it on, I literally was speechless. Initially, my wife thought I didn't like it because I didn't say anything. But I love it. The service has always been top notch, and I stop in on a pretty regular basis to get my ring polished up. I only wish they were willing to deal a little more. I would have bought my wife's ring there, but I just could not get them to move enough on their prices. They also have a fantastic selection of Rolex and Tag watches. Stopped in looking for a one year present for the little lady. I'm always standoffish with sales people. I have to admit I had a great time looking over their selection. I was greeted by a sales woman named Pat and immediately liked her casual approach. I've been in and out of so many jewelry stores were the sales sharks are on full attack and then leave you dead if they don't instantly get the "get a sale" vibe. Not here. She was friendly. Listen to my needs and happily just talked about options instead of just shoving item after item in my face. DO NOT service your rolex at this jeweler! Justice, the place where I purchases my rolex watch, had changed ownership and subsequently lost their rolex license by the time I moved back to Springfield. Well, I made the mistake of taking it to Maxon's for an EASY repair which ended up costing me a great deal of time and money because of their incompetence! read more

I could not agree more with Kat T. We even gave their horrible staff a second chance and got more of the same. First time: They scanned us over and finally decided to buzz us in (Justice, you can walk right in). The first thing out of the crusty old hags mouth was "Ohhh, are you here to sell some gold?". We weren't in suits, but we didn't at all appear thug/homeless either. I let it go and we got my wife's ring fixed there. Second time: My wife took my Tag watch there for repair (they are the ONLY authorized dealer in this area) and the same crusty hag insisted I did something to the watch to cause moisture to seep in. It is suppose to be waterPROOF to 60 meters, she assured them I had not. The reply: You didn't buy it here, so you'll have to call Tag and work through them. WE WILL NEVER RETURN HERE!!! read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the folks at Maxon's. I went there with my boyfriend (now fiance!) shopping for engagement rings over the Christmas holiday. The Sales person Nancy and the owner Rick were terrific and spent time with us and educated us on how to pick a good diamond. We found the most amazing ring there and we are now engaged!
