Say No to Maxon! I was researching on buying a Toyota Rav4 prime when someone encouraged me to look into buying a plug-in Tuscan Hybrid. I was told the price would be substantially cheaper so off I went to Maxon. I told Joy that I wasn't interested in paying dealer mark ups and any price above MSRP. The price that was quoted by Saad had so many markups that it was almost $5,000 above the Rav4 prime. As he angrily tried to convince me that the Hyundai Tuscan was a better car than the Rav4 prime, I just couldn't believe how disrespectful this guy was and treated me like I was stupid. He even went so far as to offer a regular Tuscan for the same price as the hybrid. I didn't enjoy test driving the Tuscan, none of the safety features came on and the radio required a lot of tinkering. I asked for a written estimate and the sales person refused. I asked for his best out the door price and he said no adjustments but they would be willing to beat other dealer's price. What a waste of time! This dealership refused to give me a fair out the door price or negotiate unreasonable markups and for some reason, they think I would waste my time calling them for a competitive estimate. As a result of my visit with Maxon, I am no longer interested in buying a Hyundai of any kind (they suck!) and would like to on a do not contact list. read more

Buying a car can be an extremely long and stressful process. Maxon made it as easy as possible. I felt like I was treated like family, unlike at other dealers where they are deceptive and use aggressive sales tactics to pressure you into buying (Auto Land). My salesman Rico went above and beyond to make sure I was 100% satisfied with the purchase of my new car. The finance guy Dino was very helpful and made the process fast and simple. This is really the companion piece to my review of TrueCar.com. We found Maxon Hyundai via the TrueCar site. Of all the leads we received, Maxon was the one with the best price. However, it took hours of back and forth with emails and phone calls to get it, when it is supposed to be sent after the initial contact. Once we had the confirmed price in hand, we headed out to Union to meet our contact and pick up the car. The guy, Mark, was pretty cool. He told us we'd be in and out in an hour, and that we just needed to talk to a clerical guy to get the paper work done. No problem. So, after about 30 mins of waiting and Mark telling me it would be just a bit more time, I went to the 7-11 across the street for a coffee. When I got back, Mark introduced me to the "finance guy". He basically said, we gave you a really good price on TrueCar, but the manager doesn't want this deal if you don't finance. I was pissed. They never mentioned financing before and I specifically asked them for a cash price beforehand. Now they were starting with this BS? I knew this would ultimately happen however since, TrueCar or not, car salesmen are inherently pieces of garbage. Anyway, I heard out his pitch but quickly told him i had a deal in writing from Mark and that I expected it to be honored without any problems. He said he had to talk to his boss and that it would take some time. At this point, my chick and I were getting pretty annoyed with the games they were playing. But, to tell the truth, we weren't ready to walk away from the promised deal, which was actually pretty good. Finally the finance guy comes back and told us the manager said "no deal" without financing. At that point my girl, without warning me, decided to go bananas on them. So much so and so effectively so, that they nearly begged us to move to a private office in the back so we wouldn't cause more of a scene in front of the other customers. When we got the room, they kept asking us to sit down and relax, though we opted to stand, arms crossed, waiting for more of their BS. Then, this douchy little nothing of a guy shows up (the closer I guess). He tries out the gregarious approach, like we weren't just screwed around with for hours on end. With a huge smile, he starts out with this doozy; "hey, where are you from"? We cut to the chase, flatly told him that we didn't appreciate them lying to us, that their bait and switch practice was dishonest and that if he didn't honor the deal, I was going to write a very negative and very detailed review online and report them to the BBB. After dealing with us for a minute or two, I think he realized it was a lost cause and split. Mark then returned, apologized for the "mix up" and told us we'd be out the door with the car in a few minutes (now 3 hours after our arrival). He even had the keys and manual package to drive that point home. After going to the paperwork guy to sign the documents, suddenly, everyone came out to shake our hands and be our best pals. I couldn't' have felt more disgusted. So, here's my experience with Maxon in a nutshell: typical car salesmen jerkoffs, totally dishonest, and completely unreliable. Even with the TrueCar.com buffer, which is supposed to make everything easy, it was all still a huge hassle. I wouldn't deal with these imbeciles again, ever, and I strongly advise anyone thinking of dealing with Maxon to not use them. However, I suspect most dealerships are like this, so just be prepared for lots of douchebaggery if you're shopping for a car. read more

Hands down The best car dealership Around. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional, made you feel more like friends and not a transaction. HIGHLY recommend this dealership, they do everything quick and efficient hassle free your in and out in your NEW car , none of fiat sitting around for hours like most dealerships. The whole process went well. I purchased back in July '22. However, they claimed I'd get a $100 gift card. Both the dealer I worked with and finance person stated this but it was never received. Also had issues with the radio and I had to go back and forth constantly between the dealership and the service department until it was eventually fixed. read more

I bought a used Hyundai about a year ago here. I had mostly unpleasant interactions here, especially after I made the initial purchase. The receptionist was not friendly and defensive. They didn't file my temporary tag properly and I was coming up on the time limit. I called to try to figure out what happened and had a hell of a time getting through to someone. I had to escalate almost every call because I kept getting put into the financial guy's voicemail. Finally he called me back after I spoke with his boss and told me the plates were delayed (I think they forgot to file it) and I was like "what happens when I start getting parking tickets because this tag is expired?" and he was not apologetic at all. In addition, I had to deal with the receptionist tracking down my plates and being bitchy to me when I asked simple questions like "when are they supposed to arrive?" A little while later I wanted to get a second key because when I bought the car they only had one. They told me that etching / security service thing would be able to get me a key three months after purchase. So I waited three months and called the service and they denied the claim because the dealer is supposed to provide two keys upon purchase, per contract. So I called Maxon and the lady I spoke with was like "we tell our customers to lie and tell them they were provided with two keys. Why didn't you do that?" First of all, my sales lady didn't mention that. Second, isn't that blatant FRAUD? The only thing they offered me was to come back on the first Monday of the month and meet with the 'key man' and get a second key made on their dime, which I did. I had to take the morning off to do it though. This place brought me multiple pains in the ass, and I don't have any reason to recommend them over another dealer. read more

I got multiple calls to visit Maxon Showroom and get good deal, I was 35 miles away and when I reached at Maxon they did zero negotiation. They gave me 5K less than market rate for my trade in car and were charging me 5K more that Sticker Price (so called market correction) for Palisade. They had hardly 2 cars in stock - zero choice on color. Sales rep not even took 5 mins and told me this is the best we can do - what kind era we are in where we have to overpay than MSRP to buy a car? such a waste of time and bad taste of customer service. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! After the way I was treated yesterday by the manager of Maxon, I would urge shoppers to go elsewhere for their cars. I drove up to this dealership, as I saw online through their inventory that they had 15 Palisades in stock, on the lot. Other dealers down by me were out of stock, even though they offered me a good deal of $50,000 if I waited a month for the new cars to come in. My goal was to be able to drive off in a car after working out a deal sooner than later. I was fully prepared to drop over $50,000 on a car that day at Maxon since I saw they had plenty to sell in their inventory. Their website listed the sticker prices of their Palisade between $47,000 and $51,000 for all of them. And like I said, I had already had two local dealers offer around $50,000 for the car, even though they didn't have them in stock. After waiting in an extremely dirty and dingy showroom for over 30 minutes for the salesman I had an appointment with to acknowledge me, he came over and I explained I was ready to buy a Palisade and had some numbers in mind, and hoped we could start there. He seemed fine about it- Hey! He knows he's about to make an easy $50,000 or more! And let me tell you- the deals going on as I sat and listened were mostly for pre-owned vehicles under $25,000... I didn't see anyone buying expensive new cars in that place at all! The salesman leaves, brings over the manager who looks me straight in the face and says, "I just came over here to say hello and goodbye. I am not selling you a car today. Nothing personal." So I said, "Wow. Do you even want to make me an offer? I mean, I drove up here to work something out. I'd like to see where you're at compared to the others?" and he says, "You're not going to pay what I want. These are going for $10,000 over the sticker price- easily!" very arrogantly. Mind you, I was very professional, but was met with an arrogant, condescending attitude immediately by this guy. SUPER unprofessional. SUPER icky personality. Totally NOT the kind of salesman/manager you want to deal with. Shocked by his abrasive attitude right off the bat, I mentioned that my first offer was based on my research at other local dealers and his own sticker prices listed on his site, to which he replied, "Yeah- and I can easily get $10,000 more and I will." And I said, "Well, that's interesting because you have 15 in stock that haven't moved in two weeks since I've been watching your site and so you're telling me goodbye and to leave without even giving me an offer? Just saying no to a car that you could sell today for over $50,000 and you're going to let me walk out?" and he goes, "Yup. Goodbye. I don't want to sell you a car today." Someone needs to remind this guy that this isn't the housing market and cars depreciate in value the second they drive off the lot. I get the Palisade is hot right now but clearly hoarding 15 of them for weeks at this point and refusing to give an offer to a paying customer who had all intents to drive off in a $50,000+ vehicle that day is just wrong. Hyundai should make sure this guy never gets another Palisade until he sells all 15 or at least share the wealth and redistribute them to the dealers in the area who actually WANT to make a sale that day. Unbelievably unprofessional, rude and greedy. People need to be warned not to shop there. I went home, drove right into another dealership and plunked down $52,000 for a Palisade because those salespeople and managers treated me kindly, professionally and did their very best to make a sale that felt fair for everyone involved. Yes, I'll wait about a month for it to come in, but they say, "Good things come to those who wait." And I think karma will come back and bite Maxon in the butt for the attitude and greediness I experienced at a low quality dealership with a low quality manager. *** Response to Gabriella *** You didn't offer me ANYTHING. That's the point. I drove up 2 hours because your own site has 15 Palisades listed at $48K - $50K & you wouldn't even show me an offer. Told me goodbye immediately- beyond rude. Hoard them all you want (you've got plenty inventory & they've been sitting there for weeks and you know it), no one is paying $60K+ on a Hyundai. Love my Mazda but one thing is for sure, they have a reputation for some of the very worst service records and their dealerships are generally piss poor. But to make customers pay "only $100" to what??? To update the friggin radio? They submit to me a $400 invoice for an oil change and to "update the radio" so I forgo changing my wipers to prevent my "oil change" from costing almost $500 bucks. Before they try and swindle anyone else having infotainment system issues, just google how to update your Mazda system and do it yourself for free. Shame on you Maxon I will never go back to you for service ever again and will tell everywheee I get service how terrible you guys are. All this PLUS it took nearly 4 hours to perform the oil change as they had it up on the lift at 915 and sent me text it was complete at 1pm. Horrendous all around. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Oh my God, where do I begin? I went in with my daughter for a recall on her 2019 Hyundai Tucson. We were told by a rep we spoke with named Mike Vasquez, that there were several things wrong, and that the bill would be almost $900. As it turns out, he was wrong, and didn't know what he was talking about because on the day we were to pick up the car, that is my daughter and I, Mr. Vasquez had called in sick and another rep caught a major mistake. The oil pan and gasket repair was still under warranty and fortunately the second rep named Rudy, caught it, and that saved me nearly $500 on the bill. But the question is... Why wasn't the first rep properly trained? This could have been a very costly mistake and one favoring Hyundai Maxon financially. I would've been screwed out of about $500 because the rep didn't know what he was talking about. That is Mike. Also customer service for pick up was horrible. We were told to come around 10:30 in the morning but that someone would inform us when the car was ready. No one called or texted. I called twice and left a voicemail message the first time, and then called the second time, and we were placed on hold forever and nobody ever came back on the phone to talk with us. We went to the dealership and ended up waiting another 45 minutes because the repair was not completed by the time promised and they said they were washing the car. Seriously folks, don't go to this place. I also had to fight to not pay for an oil change, which we had talked about because it was due. However, with the oil pan repair, it's automatic that they have to put new oil back once they drain the old pan. This just makes sense. You can't operate an automobile with a gasoline powered engine without lubricating it or else it will overheat and destroy the engine. This is car basics 101. I explained to the second rep who still wanted to charge me for an oil change costing over $55 that they are therefore now billing me twice for an oil change... One with the oil pan repair because they have to put oil back in the engine, as stated, and two, they wanted to still charge me for an oil change anyway, in other words, this would've been two oil-change charges... One with the oil pan repair and the second one for the routine oil change that was scheduled. I finally got that taken off the bill, but I had to argue with Rudy over this. In short, stay away. A $500 error because of a poorly trained and misinformed original rep is very costly and should not be made by a professional garage. Caveat emptor. Stay away. Because of my assertiveness I walked away paying $377 rather than $860. I saved, through being a smart consumer, and speaking up, about half of the original quote. Shame on these people. And Rudy said he wanted a decent review when I receive one via email for the experience. He has got to be kidding. Just got a response from Lauren. Owner at Maxon Hyundai. He says we spoke on the phone and I just want everyone here to know that he and I never spoke on the phone; that is another lie. "Before She Hung Up" I Explain To Her I Am On Unemployment Right Now Due To The Pandemic. Monday- She Sent A Link To My Phone With Some Options To View Some Vehicles & To Let Her Know What We Was Interested In. She Sent Us The Application For The Credit Check. We Filled Out The Application & Submitted It, That Morning. It Was About 5pm When My B\F Asked Me To Text Her To Inquiring About The Application. I Did Text Her "She Replied Back In A Timely Manner. Hello, my name is lisa. I wanted to give recognition to the awesome staff on the purchase of my new Santa Fe vehicle on 12/28/20202. I'm not saying to stay away but be CAUTIOUS. Ask a lot questions, even if you think they are ridiculous ask them. If you don't, it may cost you a lot of money. As a realtor I always tell my buyers and sellers ask questions and If they don't I ask for them. I was on the internet and I saw a certified pre-owned red CX9 that I liked. I showed up to Maxon Mazda in Springfield NJ around 915 in the morning. The first sign to turn around and walk out was when the receptionist was on her personal phone, probably talking BS. When she finally hung up, she acknowledge me and ask how can I help you? I responded "I'm here to buy a car". She then told me to walk around the corner and ask for a salesman, she gave me a name but I forgot it. Nobody was there. I walked back to the reception desk and told her nobody was there. She made the noise like when you are eating popcorn and a piece gets stuck in your teeth, ANNOYING. Finally I was able to speak to a salesman. I was looking at the SUV and noticed that the car had some front end repair, nothing major I think, but it was a shabby job. I noticed that there was an overspray of primer over the red paint, it was visible to the naked eye. I asked about the CARFAX which he printed for me and noticed that there was no accidents reported, which means nothing it could have been repaired in the car owners garage or the dealership did it. But who ever did it was a shabby job. None the less I asked the salesman was the car ever reported in an accident and he said none that showed up on the CARFAX. So I proceeded to tell him what I saw and his response was " Well used cars will have some dings/scratches here and there" I know that is true but this was not a ding or a scratch it was a repair on the side bumper that connects to the right side fender. I wish I had taken pictures. Anyway he then said to me with an attitude " Are you interested in the car or not?" Well I grabbed my license, my glasses and keys and respectfully told him to F@@K OFF, then I walked out. Please excuse my language, but if I'm going to drop 25K on a car you better answer my questions with respect. As I jumped into my car I decided to walk back in and ask for a manager, conveniently they were in a meeting the receptionist said. I did get his name and it was Shiv and I left him a voice mail. When he responded to my call I explained to him what had happened and funny enough his response was "Are you still interested in the car?" My response was "REALLY" My final advice to you is ask any and all questions you have and if you start feeling pressure from the salesperson just WALK OUT. Once you sign the papers there is no going back. I will stay away from large dealerships that sell multiple brands of cars. Look for small family run dealerships they have a reason to treat customers with respect. DON'T RUSH in buying a car. I think there are more cars for sale in this country than there are humans. Typical shady STEALERSHIP, sales person was rude and had an attitude. Nasty... started dealing with a sales manager who was alot more professional. After we bought the car, problems started and lasted for over a month and 20+ phone calls to get resolved. Car was missing a required chip for the electronics to work properly, trade-in wasn't paid off for over a month!!! to Mazda Finance, which resulted in 2 late fee charges and a negative submission on my credit report. Getting through is impossible, but once you do get a hold of a person, sales rep, sales manager all have an attitude like they are doing you a favor. I purchased a 2020 Tuscan. 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. I drove home in my new car. There were no secret fees or charges attached. Rico went above and beyond being a great salesman. ZERO STARS. NEGATIVE STARS. i will say one nice thing: Shea, my c/s rep was VERY nice. Everything else about this place is terrible. I got my car through Lynnes, which is a nice dealership. When my 1-yr-old car with 3,700 miles on it broke down bc the hybrid battery stopped working, I called Hyundai roadside. They refused to get me so I had to pay out of pocket for private towing. They towed me to Maxon, UGH. They fixed my camshaft, OK sure. For some reason they lie to corporate and say my car was under a recall, probly so they can shunt the costs to them. (There was no recall on my car. I came in bc I broke down on the turnpike.) It takes 2.5 weeks to get my car back. The check engine light is on; the a/c doesn't work; and the transmission is slipping, which it has done from day 1. I thought that's just bc the model was just crappy but my husband's drives fine (as I learned while mine was in the shop). So basically I think I got sold a lemon from the get-go. No one wants to replace the battery bc $$$$. Or just give me a new car that works. read more

We test drove the car that I wanted as well as a comparable Hyundai SUV. I leased my Mazda 6 here 2 years ago and the staff was so unprofessional. I know it typically takes a while to lease a car but I came in the dealership at 10 am and didn't leave till 5pm! 7 HOURS. The man who was helping us decided to take a lunch break and then a coffee break and hang out with his coworkers for about half the time I was there. I was supposed to have my father cosign for the car. We had agreed and discussed for an hour about me being the primary and my father being the cosigner but then when going through the financial aspect of it, they put my father as the primary and I was the cosigner. After I signed to get the car.. I was told I had to come back to get my spear key. Ok, fine. They called me 6 months later to get my spear key! And a month into have both keys, their battery died and I was told that they wouldn't replace the battery for free. It was pulling teeth getting that car and the car itself was nothing special. I got stuck in the snow 3 times and it wasn't good quality. After 3 years, it didn't drive nearly as nice as the first day off of the lot. My boyfriend's best friend is a mechanic and I always kept up with the oil changes, keeping it clean and taking care of it. Worst car I have ever leased and I will not be coming back. read more

As far as the service department is concerned, my advice is to avoid this place AT ALL COST. They are thieves and liars. Their only role is to take your money and lie to you about it. These people are scum. STAY AWAY. Find a mechanic you trust. my biggest mistake was buying an extended warranty from these jokers and actually thinking they would honor it. Apparently a repair is not covered if it was caused by a rock hitting the part. And the only way to determine that is by paying a "diagnostic fee" and waiting for them to tell you how sorry they are that, yes, the damage was caused by a rock and is therefore not covered. I bought my car from hear. A 2016 Mazda cx3. Very nice people and good service. First time bring it in for service. Told them I heard a radleing noise. They said it would be $125.00 but if I fix it they will waive the $125.00 and charge me the cost to fix it. They told me it was the fuel lines and were shaking and they zip tided them. So they told me $125.00. I was pissed. $125.00 for you to zip tie. CRAZY. Then they said I needed front breaks and then I said if I get that done then would you waive the $125.00 they said no. We were excited to take advantage of the dealer's online test drive program - $50 for test driving a car - be warned, it's a SCAM. We had wanted to try this Hyundai model for some time but couldn't find it - Maxon had it. We received a confirmation text, call and email and went to the dealership with the info for the test drive and $50. We were greeted by a salesman who didn't really listen to what we wanted to test drive too well, but finally, after 40 mins of "sales pitch" - we were allowed to drive the car. They did treat our daughter nicely and gave her a snack as she was all too patient while waiting with us... When we got back from our test drive, not overly impressed with the car, we made it clear that the deals they were offering us weren't going to work. The car, while "ok" wasn't going to work for us. We had to wait another hour or so to get our licenses and car info back before we could finally leave. They told us to email for the $50 gift card for test driving the car. It's been almost 3 weeks now. No gift card, no return emails or calls. They did their best to sell what they didn't want and they didn't listen to their customers. They also promote false advertising as I doubt we'll see their $50 gift card ever come to light. read more

I like them.... my experience is based on route 22 dealerships. I was not in a rush so I took my time deciding which AWD to purchase. Therefore I went to every dealership on 22 (all but Mercedes). Only BMW and Mazda Maxon were worth dealing with. Every time i came to the Mazda dealership they were very attentive and nice.... try going to Toyota and receiving that same type of service, not going to happen. Overall I was very happy with my experience, and will even consider having my vehicle serviced here when in need. Ultimately I chose Mazda based on the ratings the SUV received, but I was prepared to travel to other locations if I wasn't treated correctly. I'm glad I didn't have to. A lot of dealerships like playing games - I never once felt that way here. read more

Do NOT buy a car from this dealership if you intend to use them for service. It is impossible to get appointments for anything. I just called and the best they can do is over 1 month from today. I told them that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp was on. They don't care. They are busy now so they don't care if people don't go to them or not, but I would never lease another car from them. I have dealt with Subaru and Honda in the past and you rarely have to wait more than a day and most times you can just drive in for oil changes. Not Maxon. Do not go here. read more

My apologies for making this review pretty much the same as my Maxon Hyundai review. This dealership is so putrid that I had to put up reviews for both sides of the house. I shopped (briefly) for a Hyundai here a few years ago and when I stopped in for a Mazda recently, it had only gotten worse. When these guys called me yet again (I already bought a car from a different dealer) after I told them to stop calling my cell phone, I felt like they really should have some negative consequences for ignoring my very reasonable request. So, time to Yelp about them. I expect sales pressure when I go to buy a car but these guys have elevated it to an art form. It must be working for them because they're still in business but I wanted to leave after 30 seconds of talking with the first salesman. I hadn't even asked for a test drive yet and the guy was pretty much demanding my driver's license so that he could make a copy. I didn't give it to him but as a sort of compromise I relented as I left and gave him my phone number. Big mistake. At least they don't have my last name and address. Every warning you've ever heard about what car salesmen will say to you is being used from the get-go. If I had ever gotten to the point of actually buying a car here I would've had to be on my guard against getting ripped off by use of various fees, add-ons, etc. from the fast-talking team that descends upon you. Not a fun feeling to have. I shudder when I drive by this place. Evil, evil, evil. Luckily I live in an area where there's multiple other dealers selling the same cars. JUST DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ! Since zero stars is not an option ...... In the market for a new vehicle, I wanted to support our neighborhood, by buying local. I had read the online reviews, but thought to myself; "Really!? - there is no way they can be that bad".......OH, WAS I WRONG. After receiving an e-mail confirming our VIP (!! - yeah really) time, it turned out that the car we really wanted was not available to test. The sales rep told us that, due to the high price tag, they did not have one in the lot. Oh, well - the "regular" model was ok for the test drive. We had a great test drive, and scheduled a time to come back later in the week, to finalize the purchase. I did some research online, and found that the price, quoted by the rep, was over $6,000.00 higher, than what that model listed at, in our area. I e-mailed all the information to the rep, but got no response....FOR DAYS. Another rep (John, who, according to his e-mail signature, is an "internet representative") reached out, and I explained what had been going on, to which he told me "Chris will get back to you shortly" (no apology).....We did not hear from Chris. Then, I received an e-mail from the "internet director", Scott - sounds important, so I was hopeful that I would get a reply from here. I spend some time e-mailing him what had transpired (or rather NOT transpired, as I was still waiting (at this time, I was getting rather annoyed)). WRONG AGAIN - I got no answer. It did, however, spark another e-mail from John, who would "like to earn my business"..... I sent John all the information on the car, asking that if he could meet these prices.....I GOT NOTHING. Finally - 4 days after our test drive, I receive a call, from a number I did not recognize, so it went to voicemail. Turns out it was from the (original) rep, Chris. He apologized that he had not answered my e-mail, and told me he "was confused as I had e-mailed his personal e-mail address"..... WHAT!??? ...it's the one on your business card. How can that be confusing??. I have not heard anything further from Chris (whom I am sure works on commission) I have not heard from John (who wanted to "earn my business") .... I have not heard from Scott So, all-in-all, the reviews you read here are TRUE! P.S. We are no longer in the market for a car. We found a very reasonable dealer, and has since purchased the vehicle we wanted - at the much lower price. OH WELL - Maxon's loss .... read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE. I bought my brand new car here less than 2 years ago. They installed leather seats before I took it off the lot incorrectly and NEVER fixed it despite my going back to them 2 times. Two weeks ago my exterior door handle came off in my hand, I brought it in and left without a door handle, my seat control switch missing and my window broken being held up by clear tape. Everytime I bring the car in for service, parts go missing, things get broken and they get an attitude and ask "are you sure it wasn't already like that when you brought it in?" They have no concept of what customer service is. They LIE to your face and on paperwork. They will tell you right away that whatever you're there for is NOT covered under warranty unless you speak up. I have had to deal with the CEO's office at Hyundai USA to get anything rectified. They WILL Try to Rip you off. They called me to tell me that they had "lower" interest rates and I could refinance my car. So I went there, and they tried (unsuccessfully) to lower my monthly payments from $515 to $384. Sounds great right? Except the 384 is for many MORE months and I would have ended up paying about $3K more thanks to their generous 'lower interest rates'. If any state authorities surf Yelp, you guys should seriously look at Maxon Mazda. I'm pretty sure they're violating like 10 consumer protection laws. I took my car to get my oil changed here because it had been a while since I had my oil changed and I like having a dealership maintenance crew look at my car from time to time. I bought my car from the Hyundai in Paramus, but since I no longer work in Paramus, it's no longer convenient for me to go there. I've known about this dealership for a while and, though I hate going on 22, I decided to bring my car here. I brought it in for an oil change and a recall fix, plus I knew I would get a phone call with a list of items I needed to have looked at - such is life, when you own a car. I didn't tell them anything I was worried about, because I knew they would immediately try to sell me on something. So instead I went in pretending all was well and wanting my oil changed. I know my air filters need to be changed (I have new ones to install, just waiting for good weather) and I know my timing belt needs to be changed. I also am hearing a weird knocking sound coming from the front driver side area of my car, which I thought was an axle problem. I dropped off the car, and went back home to wait for the work to be done. The dropoff process was quick and easy, I was waited on immediately. After an hour or so, I got a phone call from the service center. The car was in good condition, except for the filters and timing belt. I passed on the filters, for the aforementioned reason, but inquired about the price for the timing belt. $650 parts & labor. I was floored. If he quoted me for $300 or under, I was going to tell him to go for it. but $650?!? No way was I paying that that for a less than $100 piece of rubber. I passed on both the service options, was not pressured in any way to change my mind because of the safety of the vehicle, and the axle was never mentioned. He told me they were going to finish up the car, give it a wash, and call me to tell me the car was ready. After about another hour, he gave me a call to let me know everything was done. I went to pick up the car, he met me at the cashier and went over everything with me, I paid and left. The car was washed (outside only), and sparkling in the sun. I liked the service I received. Except for the high prices, it would get 5 stars from me. I will find someone else to do my timing belt. read more
