We walked in without a reservation and were promptly offered an outdoor table to our preference. Marcos warmly greeted us and had such an amiable and genuine demeanor. Our dishes were perfection. We dined the night before at the Seafood Bar at the Breakers and to our surprise, we were more impressed at Max's Grille's. The chef today delivered entrees that were on point! I ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was crispy and fresh having the perfect balance of seasoning while the pasta was al dente and tastily drenched with light cream sauce. The dishes were reminiscent of the food we had in local hotspots of Italy and Greece. The grilled trout was also flaky, tender and flavorful. Tomato bisque was one of the best we've had - not salty which is a rarity these day and hearty with chunks of fresh tomatoes. Key lime pie, cheesecake and cappuccinos were generous in size and tasted great. Marcos and his manager checked on us throughout our lunch and both delivered quintessential service. We were dumbfounded by the combination of excellence, professionalism and kindness. Came here for a last minute birthday dinner. Made resos and got sat right away at a nice window booth. It's a big place with nice bars inside and outside the restaurant. 5/5 Chicken lettuce wraps - Delicious, not too sweet and had a nice crunch from cashews. Sauce on side was a tad too thick and sweet. The server offered to bring a spicy mayo sauce that was way better with the wrap and sushi. I would definitely recommend trying their spicy mayo on everything. It had more flavor than others I've had before. 5/5 Garden (vegetabe) roll - One of the best vege sushi roll I've ever had. I think the kanpyo really made the roll. It brought a yummy umami flavor to the roll that put it all together nicely. I believe the menu said there were sesame seeds in the roll but it did not and was actually glad there wasn't because I'm not a sesame seed fan. 4/5 Skirt steak with Korean marinade - It wasn't overly sweet but the sauce on the side of zucchini was a tad too sweet for me. The crispy onions on top was a nice touch. The skirt steak was cut up in 4 pieces so that was nice for sharing. I would have liked the zucchini to be 4 long slices of nicely grilled strips instead of a large halved zucchini with light grilling. And maybe 1 more piece of steak would have been nice but it was still a good portion. 5/5 Blueberry compote burnt cheesecake - Not too sweet and thick cut. Fresh made whipped cream and blueberry compote was excellent. Just wished it would have came out with a candle like I asked for this birthday evening. 5/5 Our server Rachel was excellent! Attentive, sweet, genuine and got everything we asked for right away. Didn't have to say anything twice or keep asking for things, which I really appreciate. She was very apologetic and said that it wasn't ok that there was no candle on our dessert. She never got the message from the host or server I spoke with. 0/5 The communication with a server and front desk host when I told them we were there for a birthday and what they do for that. Didn't get her name but the server said you can pick a dessert and they put a candle on it. We went through some of the desserts and I picked one. She said she would tell my server but SHE NEVER DID!!! Luckily Rachel came to save the day and got us a candle right away. My rating did not increase - even though I had the same waiter, Luciano who is very good. I just don't like the changes they made in the menu and my husband's favorite pasta has been eradicated from the menu! We did end up with Nashville Hot chicken with fries (good), a cheese burger with fries (good) and blackened shrimp in tacos with guacamole. We sat outside under the fans and enjoyed the ambiance - there was music coming out of the next door restaurant which was sometimes good and sometimes too loud. I am happy that this restaurant is still around after all the changes in Mizner Park but I am not loving their new menu. read more

That's what they call me my grandchildren Max's Grill that's my favorite restaurant and when it's your favorite and it's Mother's Day, I get to order what I want I have the Red snapper fillet with crab. Oh my God it was delicious. My son had the swordfish. It came out perfect and the kids had chicken. Of course that's their favorite and talk about fine dining. We sat in a different room. It made the whole experience new. I can't tell you how good it was. I can only rave about the food service and the kindness to go with it. Love this place. The Brussel sprouts is stuff food porn is made of. I have to have them 2/3 x month to keep life in balance. My go to salad is the loaded Caesar with grilled chicken. This place has a really cool vibe. Lots of outdoor seating, fun bar area and a more traditional dining area. If there is one thing keeping this place from a 5 star, it is the parking. They have valet, but get backed up pretty easily. There is a parking garage around the corner that is free. Just about a 3 - 5 min walk. Food is excellent! My recommendation would be the meatloaf. I got the BBQ on the side, so closer to my keto diet. Drinks were pricey, but I am told that is just Boca. Service is also good, but it is a busy place so you may have to make eye contact with your server, but they rush right over. Enjoyed a nice evening and we will be back when we are in the area. Have dined here many times (with a reservation) all outdoors with registered service dog in stroller. Today we were told there were only two designated areas outside where we could sit with our dog whether she was a service dog or not. Way in the back or out front by the street where it was literally 10° hotter than under the overhang. Asked to speak to the manager, who told us that they have now decided to enforce their policy because one woman threw a dog across the table at another woman two weeks ago. In Florida, it is against the law to restrict the area where a diner with a service dog can sit. In addition, it is against the law in Florida to indicate that a service dog cannot be in a stroller (as a second manager implied) when I called in follow up. The outside area was virtually empty; only two women at one table. We indicated a number of tables out of the way where we would have been happy to have lunch but were told none of them were acceptable. Did not want to make a scene so we left and had lunch at the Yard House nearby. The Yard House was excellent!!! We will not be returning to Max's. If I could give zero stars I would. read more
